I am looking for the best way to do this and from searching I think that injecting a DLL is the best route. I am 'simply' wanting to create a button or link label on a window from a compiled .exe I do not have source code to that will launch another program.

On the Form I have created an Export, File and Edit button.With the edit button I would like the user to be able to select whether they would like to save the 1st,2nd,3rd sheet and so forth.
I would like to create a window/Form within the edit button that would say something like "select excel sheet" along with a save button where the required sheet number could be saved or selected as a standard save procedure everytime.I know that I need to do this with the settings.settings control. I have tried numerous ideas up until now but it continues to baffle me.

View 4 RepliesI'm using createwindowex to create a button on an external window. I can use Spy++ to see all of the messages the button is sending to the parent window. The problem I'm having is catching these messages from the parent window.I've been trying a lot of different methods, and just when I think one is working, something still isn't quite right. Right now, I am using a hook dll made with c#, and it seems to be working somewhat. It seems like it is a lot more than should be needed for what I'm doing.I originally thought I could just use wndproc to catch all of the messages, but I found that it doesn't catch external windows messages(unless i'm doing something wrong).Is there anyone that can point me in the right direction to create a button on an external window, then catch the messages when it is clicked.

There are 4 buttons and 4 pictures, and I added them in a project resource file (resources.resx).I'm not sure how to add the pictures from the picturebox index (?) to the picturebox when one of the buttons is clicked.
i try to make an application that can communicate with the door magnetic device. So, when the visitor come to my house, i can control the door OPEN or LOCK using my PC. I've a requirement to have PreCompiled webpages and Non-PreCompiled webpages under same application. For example below is my structure:

/Test1 (PreCompiled)
/Test2 (NonPreCompiled)
/Test3 (PreCompiled)
I would like these to have their separate "Bin" folders too if possible at all (I tried using "Probing" but I guess that's not allowed for web apps and defaults to "Bin" folder). If not that then definitely some ability for these to work together under one app/virtual directory because I'm not allowed to create another at any cost :(
How can i make it so when my application has been compiled, a user can press a button, and then save a file within the exe its self (thus, a resource). Or text in a text document (not a setting, because when the exe changes places on a user computer, it will loose its settings. The main need for this is so that the exe can change locations / computers, but still retain the origional data (or text) stored in it.

On click of this link I am invoking another form and some process is being done. On saving the count 30 will be reduced by one. Like this many link lables with diffrent headings will be there. Now problem is when I finishe the process and come back to the parent form, the refresh is not happening, thou I am refreshing it. I need to log out and log in to get the correct number again.
I do have many link labels in my form. What I want to happen is, when a user click on that link label, the name of that link label will be passed to a variable.

I finally finished all my labels and textbox codes for this button.But now I have to code it so that I will be able to click the button and it will calculate all the wrong and correct answers in the labels and then finally place the percentage score in the uiScorePercentagelabel. I am trying to find the handle of the child window for the Yes button in the User Account Control window so i can click it. This window has a structure with a few child windows with the same name.

There are multiple CtrNotifySink with its own Button child window or other child windows. How do i search thru the different CtrNotifySink window to find the one that contain the Yes button so i can send a click to it? I do need to find it before i can send a click, right? because i try just sending it to the main window with sendmessage and nothing happen.I even try sending it directly to the handle found by spy++ of the yes button with bm click but nothing happen?
