Coding A Button That Calculates A Set Of Label Answers And Represents A Percentage Answer In A Different Label?
Feb 19, 2010
Private Sub uiSCORE_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles uiSCORE.Click
'Displays Correct or Wrong in Labels
If ui1Textbox.Text.ToUpper = "FOOD" Then[code]....
I finally finished all my labels and textbox codes for this button. But now I have to code it so that I will be able to click the button and it will calculate all the wrong and correct answers in the labels and then finally place the percentage score in the uiScorePercentagelabel. What I dont understand is how to calculate all the different labels as one and then show the percentage right in the appropriate label.
I'm using Visual Basic Express 2010. I have the prompt, the textbox and the calculate button. For the answer do I have to make a separate label for the answer in seconds and the actual response "That will take (separate label for answer) seconds" I made a click event button and assigned the following as global variables at the start of the form:
Const intSpeed As Integer = 1207 Const intTime As Integer = 3600
Then I made a click event for the button. I don't know what the formula is. Basically the user inputs a distance in the box, the calculate button tells you how long it will take for the vehicle to travel that distance in seconds.
Here's the interface: [URL]
Criteria: Are We There Yet? The Thrust SSC, a super fast vehicle tracked at 1207 Km per hour (750 mph) was clocked on the Black Rock desert back in 1977. Build an application that will tell people how many seconds it would take to get to their destination if they were driving the vehicle. Of course this doesn't include having to stop for stop signs, travel through school zones, or slow down for corners.
You need to include the following: 1.) Design the application with a prompt label and textbox to collect the distance from the user. 2.) A calculate time button 3.) The form must have the text property changed to read "Are we there yet?" 4.) The objects must have both the Text property and Name property changed to an appropriate value. 5.) A constant global variable should be used to represent speed of the vehicle. 6.) A constant global variable should be used for seconds (there are 3600 seconds in an hour) 8.) A local Dim variable declaration can be used within the button click to hold the distance value. 7.) Variables should be declared with the most appropriate data types. 8.) Include a "Text Changed" event to reset the time in seconds to a blank value when the user starts entering in a new distance. 9.) Comment code should be included
Coding a button so when press it i will make something appear in the label in response what was in my textbox. [Code] I cant figure out how to code it so when i click the score button it will put correct in the label in response whether the right answer was put in the textbox. Example the right answer for the textbox is Food. so when clicked to score i should show correct in the label. I feel like I missed a big part in my code to figure this out.
I'm try to hide the label after few second but it is updating page continuously after 10sec, i just want it once time when i click save button label on display me successfully for 10sec and get disappear
is it possible to show a figure in one Label in another label through a button click event? for instance, i have a figure in label1 and i want to display that figure in a label of another form is it possible?
In the about use should be a label and a button. The label should tell about the program and have the name of the programmer and the button should hide the about us form. Here's my code:
Public Class Form1 Private Sub ExitToolStripMenuItem_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles ExitToolStripMenuItem.Click[code].....
I have several buttons in my form and they each need to add, subtract, divide and multiply certain values together but I seem to be having problems with this. I didn't expect anything to go wrong and its probably a rookie mistake, but take my first calculation for example; a user must enter a value in a textbox (txtDays) and and also when one of my various radio buttons are pressed a value shows in a label (lblDailyHireCharge). I now need a way of multiplying these values to give me my answer shown in a label. I have done this by adding a button when which pressed multiplies the txtDays value with the lblDailyHireCharge and then shows it in the label, however it keeps on showing "0" when i click it.
Below is my code, I am basically saying that the value of both of those figures is intDuration and that lblDuration is where I want it to go when the button is clicked. Private Sub btnDuration_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles btnDuration.Click Dim intdays As Integer Dim intDailyHireCharge As Integer Dim intDuration As Integer [Code] .....
Im trying to make a Basic Program with a Progress Bar. Showing Visual Representation of a Percentage. I would like the Percentage to be shown as a decimal value as well. [Code] But since i do not know how to show decimal places i can not get this to create the correct value thus having a pointless progress bar and label. [Code]
I want to make label beside label/etc. For example, after i clicked button then label appear beside its button , and after 5 second / less, i want to make the new label dissapear / erased . Visual Studio, vb.net
tier coding in retrieving data from database and display it in label.
I got the code for data access layer but im not sure if it's right: Public Function getFeedbackQ(ByVal Question1 As String, ByVal Question2 As String, ByVal Question3 As String) As System.Data.DataSet
I have a form with 10 math questions. Beside each question there will appear a check mark if it is right and a X if its wrong. I also have a label that will display a score in percentage. If 2 are right then it will display 20%. If they are all right then it displays 100%. My problem is ...how can I code the event. I thought of case select, but that would mean 100 cases to make it work.( If check1 and check2 are visible then display 20%, but if its check1 and check 7? Thats alot) What I want ot know if there is an easier or shoter way to ontain the same result. I am working with Visual Basic 2008.
i need to generate a category report that calculates the percentage of the tickets whereby the ticketstatus are closed and opened.I have to get the percentage of opened tickets by:(number of open tickets/total number of tickets) * 100 with that, i came up with a function in the class
below is the code:
Public Function DBSelect_TicketCategoryOpen() As DataTable Dim local_dbConn As New SqlConnection Dim local_sqlCommand As New SqlCommand
I have been using vb6 for a while, I am following a tutorial by MS to develop a basic application and a simple task cannot be completed for whatever reasons! The tutorial asks to drag the label object from the toolbox and drop in the tab control container. Then, go to the label size property and adjust the size to some different dimansion. Basic stuff, right? It won't let me do it! After I enter the new dimensions (which by the way are not large or very small), the label size (both width and height) resets back to its original dimensions! I have the vb.net sp1 installed.
Is there an effecient way to give one label the ForeColor, BackColor and Text of another one of 3 possible labels? I need to do this frequently for a dozen labels in a windows form.
I am using a label to display a song for an mp3 player. I wanted to scroll the text inside the label for anything that is longer than the label width. I figured out the width of the label and if the width of the text inside the label is longer. But I have no idea how to turn this into subtracting parts/pixels of the text currently displayed and how to append the subtracted parts to the end of the new text.
Sub f1timer2tick() Dim g As Graphics = f1l2.CreateGraphics Dim s As SizeF If f1l2.Text.Length > 19 Then
i am developing a web browser in vb.net as my final year project.currently working on displaying browsing history in labels contained in a panel . i have coded label array dynamic in size , using redim stmnt in some method say abc () . now i want to handle event generaten on clicking these label .but i have no idea how to do it .
Public Class frmhistory Dim domainarray(50) As String Dim lblpagename() As Label
I made a program that generates random numbers and places the numbers in two separate labels. How can I make the number in the first label greater than the number in the second label. Here is my code for generating random numbers:
Dim nRandom As Integer Dim nRandom1 As Integer Dim randomgenerator As New Random[code]....
I want to make the first number greater than the second because the numbers should be subtracted .
i am trying to write to a label via a loop incrementing the label number on each run .The Labels are part of a "windows form" if that makes any difference .The code bellow is an example of what i wish to do [code]
I am trying to build a program that calculates the minutes worked times pay rate equals amount of weekly pay this is what I got but it doesn't calculate
basically i need to change the text of a label where the name of the label comes from the value of a variable. So, for example,
Dim x as String = "lblTarget" Dim y as String = "Target Text"
In this case the text of "lblTarget" would need to be come "Target Text". Basically, the label that is named the value of variable x would need to take on the text of variable y.
I am still a beginner programmer so keep in mind that what I'm trying to do is beyond my knowledge but I have no one to teach me Visual Basic except from what little I can learn off of the internet. Currently, I am using Visual Basic 2008 Express Edition so my problem may be appear different if I show you any of my code.
I've created a program that contains a label and the words in the label form a question. Below that is a textbox with some text that has to be memorize for a play. Just think of the question as the previous speakers part. So far I've set it so that the words in the textbox are randomly removed and are replaced with a blank. I face with the program is that the user can't enter the answer because the blank is in the way.
Instead of putting a blank where the missing word is I would like to have some textboxes put there that way the user can enter the missing word and so that I can later insert some code that will let the user check to see if the answer they entered is correct.now the missing word is still replaced by the blank so I need to get rid of that and insert the textbox wherever the words are missing.
Is there any way to detect if the text in a label is longer than the label itself (assuming autosize is set to false)? I want to trim the text in a label so the last line is a finished sentence (everything after that sentence is removed). I hope you understand what I mean.
I want to go from this:"Hello. This is a test string. Most test stri..."
I have a label that does certain events. I want to add another label with the click of a button (with the ability to add as many labels as needed.) I also want to make these labels have different text.
Creating a new label that does what the first label does (like on click) Making the button create label after label on click, all of which have different text (like from a textbox)
I have a label, a button and a textbox.I want to add to the label the value of the textbox label.text = button but permanent so when I close and reopen the application the value still be in the label. For example I open the App and add a value in the textbox like 123 and hit the button, now the label = 123.
Close and reopen the App and Label still = 123 .
Note: The value is a secrete key (label visible = false) so I cannot place the value in a txt or xml.
2] One text box to type in the words I need to appear
3] One button to print the words from the text box to the label.
4] One button to exit the program
I know that this sounds extremely easy for you pros out there but if i could find the code for that simple program I might be able to relearn from where I left off..
