VS 2008 - NumberUpDown Control Limitation
Dec 16, 2009I am writing an app that includes the use of a NumberUpDaown control. I just stumbled onto what seems to be a 12 bit maximum limitation (FFF,4095). I've set the Maximum properties for 16 bits, 65535, but still see a 12 bit limitation. I suspect this is a MS limitation but I've found a description of this control which states it should be good for 16 bits.

Sep 23, 2011I have a tab control, that the user can add/remove tabs as they please. It is an inventory manager, and the tabs are the departments. Everytime a user adds a department, a new listview is cloned and added to the page. Upon form load, i need it to go through the tab pages, and query the database for items matching the department their in. In other words, if the Department column in the inventory database, matches the Tab Pages text, add it to the listview inside that particular page. I've tried several things, but they all end up buggy. Either it adds them all to the first listview, or it skips every other page, or worse - doesn't add anything at all. Here is the code I have, could anyone help me figure out how to:
Cycle through the pages, if any of the DB's rows Department column matches the tab page text, add it to the listview inside that tab page, then move to the next tab page, and cycle through the DB again. Here is my code, a decent start I believe.

I have a table in the database called tblChannels that I would like to draw the information from and populate the ListView control in VB, in the form of a column. I currently am unsure about how to go about doing this. Previously I have created combo boxes that draw the information from the database, but trying this method for the ListView does not work how I want it to.

In the main form I have a menu item to open my frmUserType, In this form I have a button to open another form which is my frmCreateUserType, In this form I have a button to add records then update the listview in frmUserType. The problem is the listview will not access with my add button control in frmCreateUserType. I tried not to used mdiparent declaration for my frmMain and frmUserType as children and it works, so meaning that the problem is showing my frmUserType as childform?I am using vb.net 2008

ListView Rowheight Varies - Using ListView Control, With SmallIcons Style ?
Mar 15, 2012I'm using ListView control, with SmallIcons style in VB.NET. Icons are loaded fine, but when I start to scroll ListView down or up from scrollbar (clicking from arrows), rowheight drops to about half from normal in next 20-30 rows below/above upper/bottom row (depends from the scrolling position). After 1-2 seconds, ListView is "refreshed" and scrolling continues normally. When focus in on the ListView and I'm moving up/down with arrow keys or PageUp/PageDown, everything is normal. Any suggestions, what is happening? SmallIcons size is 16 * 16. Is it compulsory to set "Blank icon" with SmallIcon size to all rows, when adding them or what? Wasn't like that in VB6, how is it in VB.NET?

I want the user to be able to re-arrange the columns (by dragging the column headers) before printing the contents of the table.

Statements like:

Give the column-name (c) and cell-contents (3) of the origional table .. not the (3rd) column (b) of the re-arranged table.

Sep 29, 2009is there any way to get a numberupdown text to show the value "+" so if the value is a positive number then it adds the plus sign in front of the digits.
example:
2.00 would become +2.00
3.25 would be +3.25
as when its negative its
-2.00
-3.25
It already adds the negative value when its negative of course.

Asp.net - Adding To Page Control Collection From Inside A User Control?
Feb 12, 2011I have an asp.net usercontrol which represents a "popup" dialog. Basically, it's a wrapper for the jQuery UI dialog which can be subclassed to easily make dialogs. As part of this control, I need to inject a div into the page the control is used on, either at the very top or very bottom of the form so that when the popup is instantiated, it's parent is changed to this div. This allows "nested" popups without the child popup being trapped inside the parent popup.
The trouble is, I can't find a safe way to inject this div into the page. A usercontrol doesn't have a preinit event, so I can't do it there, and calling Page.Form.Controls.Add(...) in Init, Load or PreRender causes the standard exception "The control collection cannot be modified during DataBind, Init, Load, PreRender or Unload phases."
I thought I had found a solution by using. ScriptManager.RegisterClientScriptBlock(Page, Me.GetType, UniqueID + "_Dialog_Div", containerDiv, False) which seemed to work well normally, but recently a coworker tried putting an UpdatePanel inside the dialog and now she's getting the error "The script tag registered for type 'ASP.controls_order_viewzips_ascx' and key 'ctl00$ContentBody$OViewZips_Dialog_Div' has invalid characters outside of the script tags: . Only properly formatted script tags can be registered."
How are you supposed to add controls to the pages control collection from inside a user control?

first - Process Name
second - Process Path
3rd / last - Process ID
I can easily get those details with mainmodule.filename and etc. But my main problem is with adding them to a listview.
I know I can do something like

But how to add a thirds subitem when I got a list of process in my listview. A button is click and then the listview will be added with processnames and paths. But I cant add the ID's cuz you have to give a specific listview item to add another subitem.

The listview is set to details view. What I want to do is group the book titles by series. For example, books by Michael Connelly may be grouped by "Harry Bosch", "Jack McEvoy", "Mickey Haller", etc. I can create a new group for each new series by

Adding IP Address To ListView - Get Return Value
Nov 5, 2009I have a Callback from a socket that get called each time I get a Packet, It then add an IP address to a Listview. Now I got all the IP with the Active Connections, I cannot, From the call back check if the IP is already added to the list so I made a class and a Delegate and used UI.Invoke to call the method and check if Duplacates then add the coordinating information, I went a Step further and did a lookup on host name to pull the computer hostname from the ipaddress, But I do it each time due to getting Multiple of the same IP and I do not want to do it on the thread that the UI.INvokes from due to resolving a Host name will lock the GUI for a full Second, so you can imagine doing this on a network with constant information.
Now what I want is from the Async thread that is receiving all the data to Invoke the UI thread, check if ListviewItem already exist then exit the Dispatched Sub, then from the Async thread again check the Classes return value then if it dose not already exist start the lookup, I have this so far but Im not 100% sure if it is working the right way, Is Invoke Async or Sync even though Im telling another thread to start, if now how can I made My Async thread wait on UI.Invoke to complete 100% so I can check the classes return value?
