Are there any snippets which I may have missed that allow me to use the system folder icon? Not the icon for an association, because folders don't have extensions, or I'd go that route.
i'm looking for a way to get the system's folder icon WITHOUT using an icon file. i've also come across this great class that works very well with files but i'm not sure how to make it work with folders.
Code: Public Class Icons '===================================================================================== ' clsIcon
Got an annoying issue it's Visual Basic 2010 I changed icon where the assembly name.I got a good icon it has lots of sizes, or I tried diff sizes like 64x64 128x128 nothing seems to work I only see the icon when i do View > Details so it's small icons in the folder, but if i have view large icons It doesn't work. I even used the same icon on VS 2008 and it worked.
I'm attempting to remake the Explorer to customize it some more. I know how to get Name, FileSize ect. Getting the Icon is hard though. [Code] The code i'm using to Insert the Icon into a image, i'm getting this error: Error1Value of type 'System. Drawing.Icon' cannot be converted to 'System.Drawing.Image'
I have a utility that is a simple exe that is not installed compiled with VS2005 and works well. But when I upgraded to VS2008 the utility can no longer locate files in the active system folder. I have UAC turned off and am logged in as the Administrator and it still can not locate a file that I can see in Windows Explorer. The file I am looking for is PakMgr.exe.
Dim oURL As Uri = New Uri(e.Uri.AbsoluteUri) Dim favicon As Image If oURL.HostNameType = UriHostNameType.Dns Then
[code]....
The error is Value of type System.Drawing.Image cannot be converted to System.Drawing.Icon Is it even possible to make the favicon be the icon of the form?
I have a vb .net application where the user can choose a directory into which an excel file is written. If the user selects a system directory (yes, my users do this, don't ask me why) then a System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException is thrown at runtime. I am handling this exception telling the user to please select another directory.
I use vb.net. I am trying to do a file upload, I want the image to save to image folder, however, the image don't know appear in the directory that I indicate. If I click on "show all file", the image appear, but the image icon is blank or white like the image below show. So I click on that image and click on "include it in the project", however, it shouldn't be the case that I everytime upload an image, I need to redo that again. So how should I allow don't appear the white icon and to always appear in the upload folder when I upload a image instead of manually click on the image to include in?
This is my code Protected Sub uploadImage() Dim filename As String = FileUploadImg.FileName Dim fileType As String = filename.Substring(filename.Length - 4).ToLower() If (fileType = ".gif") Or (fileType = ".jpg") Or (fileType = ".png") Then [Code] .....
does anybody know if System.Drawing.Icon can be used in a dll? I'd like to expose a file icon via a property in a dll, but I can't seem to use System.Drawing.Icon. I get the message: Type 'System.Drawing.Icon' is not defined
i want to save a jpeg file from one system to another system which is connected through network.its in a windows application.my target system's name is "abc".how can i do this ?
I am making a web browser using geckofx. I have put the favicon in a picture box but I have changed my mind and now I want it as the form's icon. The code for the favicon is:[code...]
The favicon works fine in the picture box but i think it will look better as an icon. If i change the line Me.PictureBox1.Image = favicon to Form1.icon = favicon I get the error Value of type 'System.Drawing.Image' cannot be converted to 'System.Drawing.Icon'. How can I get this to work?
I'm trying to click on an icon that is in the system tray. I'm sure there is API involved, which i'm sure will work. I Was wondering if there's any kind of code already in Visual Basic, that somehow puts them in an array of some sort. Especially with how sometimes windows will only show active icons. Would be a pain to have to click the arrows to show all icons and then find the icon. Which if it's API, would have to be x/y coordinates.Definitely would be different every time.
I am doing my project in vb.net 2008. When I minimize my running windows application its icon must be minimized and fit in system tray. And when we doing some other works in our system (such as video playing or other working) my windows application must works in background.
I've been successful with this in VB6. The VS2005 notifyicon class is certainly much nicer and much improved.I've implemented a notifyicon and it's working as expected with one exception.
i want the icon in my programs tray to change after time. I have no idea how to do this change. Anyone that can help me? I hope i made my self clear enough to understand what i mean. If not so, please write me to explain a bit more.
how to create a contextmenu for system tray icon vb? Where can I find an example of it? I am building a service with a system tray icon to start pause and stop it however I don't seem to be able to display the contextmenu on click event. Do I need a form for the context menu?
how to create the contextmenu near the system tray icon that i've created? the current contextmenu will always "run" to certain position. How to do that? especially the second parameter of the following:
Me.contextMenu1 = New System.Windows.Forms.ContextMenu Me.menuItem1 = New System.Windows.Forms.MenuItem Me.menuItem2 = New System.Windows.Forms.MenuItem Initialize contextMenu1
[Code]...
Me.contextMenu1.Show(Button1, New Point(0, 0)) .NET not allow the control to be the notifyicon, so i added a button.hOW to make sure that the contextmenu always firm on one position , ie, at the system tray icon that i've created. Once i click on the icon, it will show this contextmenu.
I have a application which is written in background worker. Inside the background worker i am creating the multiple threads . The application has one notify icon. When i creating threads the notify icon gets duplicated for each thread. Suppose if i am running three threads means , there are 4 icons in the system tray.
I need a clue where to start: how to create an icon that will show up at bottom right of explorer bar.. maybe I don't what its called. I guess windows named that "system tray icon".
I am trying to create an icon in the system tray as status for num-lock, caps-lock, and scroll-lock, because my keyboard that came with my computer does not have status lights on the keyboard, and only on the system tray.
The program however that came with it, does not like to work when I have some games open and stuff, it works usually in IE, and most other programs, but some programs just seem to interfere with it.
I have made a new program on a 1 mili-second timer for the 3 and it seems to work just fine in the application, I was wondering now if I could move that over to the system tray and make it look like the one that came with computer, it has 3 different icons, and the icon changes for on/off and has a tooltip status change on mouse-over showing status of on/off.
How do you get the cursors in an executable file? Like how to extract all cursors from a .exe, .dll, .ocx, .cpl or .src file, and then convert to an System.Drawing.Icon...
