Okay, so a program I've been working isn't running correctly. The application freezes and doesn't continue onto the next command (SetCursorPos(999, 999))

I'm writing a command-line application in .Net. The app itself is fairly simple, but it has to connect synchronously to a web-service, which in turn has to connect to a Oracle database, and those pieces are fond of taking their time.
Is there a straightforward way (without dividing my app exe in two) to continue executing but nonetheless yield execution to the command prompt?
It's Windows, so no "&". Also, I cannot use cmd.exe's "start" cmdlet.
How can I use SetCursorPos to a point in my hwnd or hdc. I'm just trying to move my mouse to x,y of a different application.
View 29 RepliesI'm not able to use edit and continue feature while debugging my project. I'm using VB 2008 Express Edition on a 32bit winXP version.
I already check on MSDN and found that this feature can be enable in dialog Tools/Options/Debugging.... However, I do not have a Debugging entry in the treeview in this option dialog. I also used to reset the Import/Export setting features in the tool menue. However this did not solve the problem as well. Then I tried to import some settings and I was able to select the option for debugging. However in the tools/option menu, the debugging feature is still not visible. Edit and Continue is not working as well
Its really a pain to debug with the current setup, as I always have to restart my application when I did some minor changes.
I'm having some bugs with my Visual Basic 2008! Here they are:
When debugging my program...After I close the program the 17th time visual basic freezes for exactly 45 seconds!
When I restart visual basic then it stops freezing but again after 17 times exactly it starts to freeze again!
( I think I've tried reinstalling it but I don't really remember...If I did it didn't work! )
I have a vb.net program created in VS2008, winforms/desktop application. I have it on a timer event so that every 4 hours it rins some actions. When I minimize the application ot the system tray...after a seemingly random period of time....it will not maximize. It acts frozen however the program still runs and the timer events usually fire on time. I just can't get the main form back up to see the menus and interface with the program. I have tried doevents, refresh, getfocus etc... nothing seems to make it refresh.

View 6 RepliesI have a vb.net 2.0 winforms application. When I open another application (like calculator) have the focus to it and try to close my application the screen freeze and I have to use ctrl + alt + del to get it to refresh.
View 1 RepliesIn my application, the user can create a word document from a word template with dynamically added text and data to it. This happens on a backgroundworker so that the application doesn't hang during the process. This all works fine and the word document opens correctly when finished. Now if the user leaves the application to do something else, in most cases when they come back to it, it has frozen. It's still responding/running in task manager but the interface is frozen. In debug mode, it never freezes and so I can't catch the exact moment when the freeze occurs. My backgroundworker is disposed of when complete and I close everything related to the word object.

Problem is I don't program using VB.NET nor have I any intention of learning it for a project this small. Usually I would run from something like this but I need the cash.Should I take the project and continue it using C# or just leave it. Has anyone had a similar experience and how did it turn out.

I am trying to send a command to the external command line (cmd.exe) from the Windows form application that I'm writing in VB.NET (using VS2008).
I can only access the external program thru the command line (its not my program) and I must do so from a form app.
I am trying to use the following code. I am able to call a cmd.exe window, but I can't pass the command line my command.

View 2 RepliesI have a solution with two projects. The main project connects to the second project via a reference, and the reference path is local to my machine. It looks like it references the .exe file.So when I publish the main project (ClickOnce), i get the following error:
Application validation did not succeed. Unable to continue.In the log file, under Error Details, it says
System.Deployment.Application.InvalidDeploymentException (RefDefValidation)
- Reference in the manifest does not match the identity of the download assembly Project2.exe

How can I include this second project? Should I publish it, then reference the published files? What do i reference? The .application file?Is there a way to just include this second project, so when I do publish the main project, the second one just goes along with it?
I have a page with multiple RadPageViews, some with RadGrids in them. They all need command item template in order for the user to edit and refresh the grid. On my first page view, the item template works perfectly, poping-up the edit form for the user to edit the data of the selected row. On my second page view, the command item template buttons don't seem to want to work (not even the refresh). If it were just the edit button then i would suppose there'd be a problem with my edit form, but not its that no buttons seems to work (not even refresh). The grid does display the information correctly too.

I've been going through it many times and i don't understand why it doesn't work. I've also compared it to the working pageview and there doesn't seem to be any noticeable difference between them both.
Background: My application is used to execute tests using Selenium RC servers, and occasionally I'm running into a problem when my call to a Selenium command doesn't return the response from the RC server - it then ends up blocking the thread that is executing the test.

Basically, we already had a software working in 1024x768 environment. The program however, have a lot of custom controls and forms that cause problem when users run it in a smaller screen resolution (e.g. 800x600).I had tried change the size of the forms, set auto scrolling, Klik.SizeLibNet3 and etc. All of them has too much work involved or can't achieve best result.Is there any way which I can remain the size of my program (include all the forms) and have a container with scrolling to place my program inside? Or is there any other ways that I doesn't need to modify much on my application?
