Asp.net - ASPxGridview Custom Sorting By Month Name?

I have an aspxgridview which groups first by year and then by month. Basically my query returns Month and year as seperate columns. Now if I return month as "January or February" then ASPxGridview does not know how to sort this.
I heard of custom sorting, but even then if I return month column as a number and use dataitem template to convert it to a name...it works but then when exporting it only exports the number not the dataitemtemplate.

i have set my column name "EventDate" in my datagrid view using this code
dt.DefaultView.Sort = "EventDate"
. but it seems that it is sorting depending on the first letter of my records,is there a way to set it by the order of the month like:
January
February
March
April and so on..

I changed the date of datetimepicker format to yyyy-mm-dd in custom format...but it displays 2009-00-22...the month part is not showing the month of the exact month..how to change the format of the date?

I have a ListView (GridView) that I want to sort by 2 columns, so if 2+ items have the same value in Column 1, it sorts by Column 2. Pretty easy. I am using a list to keep track of a number of custom Row objects as follows:
Public Rows As List(Of Row)()
Row has 2 properties, Key (a String) and Cells (an ArrayList).
I need to be able to sort each Row within Rows based on a developer defined index of the Cells ArrayList.
So for example based on the following Rows
Row1.Cells = ("b", "12")
Row2.Cells = ("a", "23")
Rows.Sort(0) would result in Row2 being first in the Rows list. What would be the best way of going about implementing this?

What I basically want to achieve is to sort TableDetails(i) items by their "ID", but I have absolutely no idea how to go about it. Could anyone please give me pointers?Also, I actually want to move the columns within TableDetails(i) around, manually. But I'm not too sure how to do that.

I am using the DevExpress aspxgridview in work.The documentation says you need to specify a key field name but I cant find a reason beyond, because we said so. Does anyone know what this is for? Do I only need one, or one for each field?

Currently i have a ReturnSystemDate in a module, so that whenever i need the current date and time i call this method, however my data is saving as in 1 format and displaying in another. I have my variables set up as dateTime to store the current date and time, when calling System.dateTime.now.toString() i get 11/08/2010 Time, however when casting to Date as in CDATE() i get 08/11/2010 time. How can i stop this?

I want my game to tick over month by month at a set interval. I would use the timer control to get the interval. But how can I pause it? Say if one "month" is 5 minutes in my game and user hits pause. I would disable the timer but then when they unpause the game the timer would start from 0 again. This would make a "month" 9 minutes if a user paused the game in the 4th minute.

I am trying to display an error message in the edit section of a ASPxGridView when a user has tried to submit invalid data.I have been looking around and have found one blog that allows me to place an error message in red once it has filed validation by throwing a New InvalidOperationException.
I am using the rowUpdating method as described in the blog, but the exception forces my code to stop the code in visual studio (like you would at a break point) and displays the message. Once I click play again, the code carries on and the program continues. How do I stop the application from stopping once the exception has been called and carry on. Any resolution to make the cascading dropdowns work as expected when used inside edit mode of AspxGridview. I am using DevExpress Controls.
My requirement is as follow:
If I select country="United States" then populate the "State" combobox and on selection of "State" populate the "City" combobox.
If I select "country" other then "United States" then populate only "City" combobox with cities of selected "country" and no need to populate the "State" combobox. Also I need to hide the "State" combobox. i.e. like
Country State City
ROW1 united states Alaska Douglas
ROW2 Canada Toronto
ROW3 Australia Sydeny
ROW4 united states California Yuba City
Same is required in Editmode also.

I have a WPF ObservableCollection which is bound to a ListBox and I have a Sort() method which when called will convert the ObservableCollection to a List(Of T), and undertakes a sort based on a date/time column within the collection.
The data is sorted, even when new items are added to the ObservableCollection, however the date/time isn't being correctly sorted. The data is sorting based on the date however it is very much random when it comes to the time portion. The following is an example of the outcomes I am experiencing:

I was trying to block the closing of a custom combo box popup window in my custom DataGrid. The popup window comes by pressing F4 or ALT+DOWN keys in my datagrid which is getting closed if I press the down arrow for the first time, after showing the first value in the combo box as selected. Next time onwards, if I press the F4 key and down arrow, I can move to any item in the popup window and select the item using keyboard and in that case, the popup window is not getting closed till I press the ENTER key or selection using the Mouse. Is there any specific reason for this behaviour or something is missing in my code part? [code]...

I'm using custom serialization and when the xml is generated it's putting the class name as the root element
Example:
<MyClassName>
<MyIntendedRootNode>
<ObjectType>

I'm invoking the serialization by calling xmlserializer.Serialize(writer,Me) so I'm sure that has something to do with it.I've tried putting XMLRoot onto the class, but I think as vb is compiling this partial class with its aspx page, it's either overwriting this property or ignoring it entirely.I'd like to just tell it to either throw away everything it has and use a different root element.
