ASPxGridview - Enable A Specific Column "AllowHeaderFilter" Property To True Code Behind?
Jan 30, 2011
how to turn on allowheaderfilter property to true for a specific column. It appears that I can only do this in design view. I must be able to do it code behind as I have certain conditions when this can be done.
how to add custom column to aspxgridview column using looping to get name and value of column.
here is my code behind :
Protected Sub gridSubmission_Init(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles gridSubmission.Init Dim colBaru As GridViewDataTextColumn = New GridViewDataTextColumn() For i As Integer = 1 To 6
[code]....
which i used to add new column at aspxgridview.but its getting an error, "An item with the same key has already been added."second question, what property which i must use to put that code? I wanted load that code after page.load ! if i put in aspxgridview.init its was loaded before page.load.and the output it must like this :
VB GridView control will not allow code in the vb code file to access a data column that has its visible property set to false. When it is set to true, the data column can be accessed with no problem. Any suggestions as to how to correct this? I have looked through the documentation, text books, and I have not found anything that gave me any clue as to what the problem could be. I thought that the property was just applied to the column, not that it would remove the column from being accessible.
I have code running in the Datatable.ColumnChanging event in my dataset. This dataset underlies a form and conventional drag/drop controls are in place for data entry.when the event triggers and runs, I am running code in the form that checks the dataset.HasChanges property. It is showing False. But this is immediately after the ColumnChanging event has been triggered.Okay, I see by others posts and MSDN that .HasChanges will only be true after moving off the row with the changed column. I have also noted lots of discussion about the advanced binding property of DataSourceUpdate Mode, but that does not address this issue.I guess I can do this by checking the state of the row for the binding source. Just seems odd that the event behind the dataset can be triggered and that does not change the dataset.HasChanges property.
I set the UseMnemonic property on my buttons to true and in the design page the desired letters appear underlined but when I run the application they aren't. Can I make them underlined for the user to see?
I want to create a button such that on pressing it, a property is set to true and remains true until the user presses the button next time. How is this done?
I populate a DataGridView during a sub routine. Later in my code I have a RowEnter event for that DataGridView when the user is assessing it after it has been populated during the main procedure. However this RowEnter event gets fired while the DGV is being populate. I only want it to file AFTER its populated. Is it possible to disable this specific event while the DGV is being populated? I really want the user to have the ability to cursor up/down the DGV and see affects of the RowEnter Event. I know I can also use the CellEnter event but it does not have the same effect.
I have this program I'm working on, and I was wondering if it was possible to disable/enable TextBoxes when specific words are wrtten. I tried doing this, but it errored. I'm a new programmer to VB, I just started a month ago, and I'm doing this for fun.
If TextBox1.Text = "Shutdown" then TextBox2.Enabled = True
I also want it so that you don't have to press a button to identify if it is the right text, so it could "scan" automatically.
I want to check whether application is in debug mode/release mode to distinguish development & production application setting. I used custom attribute 'DebuggableAttribute' of currently executing assembly & its property IsJITTrackingEnabled to check application running mode. But this property always returns 'true' in both debug/release mode.
Can anybody let me know where is mistake or any alternative to achieve this?
I am stumped on this one. I have a panel (pnlKeyPad) that won't change the visible property when I try to set it to True. But when I try to set the Dock Property to DockStyle.Fill it succeeds. I have tried them in different orders, setting the parent property to the splitpanel and nothing seems to fix it. The panel is on a splitpanel that is visible. The panel is set to visible = false by default.
Any ideas of why this panel won't switch to visible when I specifically set it to visible?[code]...
I know how to turn a control's visible property to true or false, the only thing I don't know is: If I have, for instance, 40 group boxes in which only one is visible, when I click on a button, the first group box visible = false and the second group box visible = true, and when I click on it again, the second group box visible = false and the third group box visible = true, and so on I don't want to write the codes for every controls, since it will be quite time consuming, I want to use fewer codes to achieve this objective,
Simple question, I have an application and dependant on whether you are in the administration system or on the public website I want to show different results. Example: in the database for a news story in the administration I may set the column value 'showonsite' to false. So I would like this to show in the administration panel only and not on the live site.
My question is, because I require the same information just with the only one column change, live site to only show true values and administration to show both. What is the most effective way of achieving this without copy paste of code?
I m implementing control based security in my application. where i m saving controlname (per form) in database, which are to be restricted. So far I have implemented the security and restricted control get disabled.
Now what i want to do is that i have to prevent that for those controls the "control.Enable" property should not change. how can i restrict that.
I have achieved the functionality by canceling enable=true property in "Invalidated" event of the control. but this is not some generic way. I have to map this event for all controls in all forms :(.
What i really want is that as all my froms are derived from same parent which implements the security. so the parent should some how restrict enable property from changing.
So,HOW CAN I PREVENT CONTROL enable property from changing in their parent class?
I have a program and I get time data from a sqldb and display it in a column in a listbox. What are the proper steps for adding the time as I iterate through the data in the column? I figure I will need to do some conversions on the time to be able to add it and display it as a total.
I would like to overrides the datetimepicker object to remove the texte when the property _clearOnDisabled is true. When _readOnly property is true, I would like to show the text in black not gray. So I tried with WndProc but I seem that every single object go through my function not only my datetimepicker. I get 100% CPU when I put the WM_PAINT message. I also tried to overrides the OnPaint but its not getting in.
I'm making a login form in VB.NET, and I have a table in mysql called user. What I want to do is before a user can login the Administrator column of the user table must be TRUE and the DELETED column must be FALSE. I've tried everything I know but all non admin users are still able to login... Heres how the user table looks like:
on a Windows Form, an object myObject is bound to myObjectDataBindingSource like this:myObjectDataBindingSource .DatSource = myObject on the form, i have a check box bound to the property: chkProp1 for example of the object: myObjectDataBindingSource In the code when the checkbox is clicked, I need to go in code and change another text property of the object txtProper2 for example like this:
Private Sub chkProp1_CheckedChanged(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles chkProp1.CheckedChanged
I'm making a blackJack Game for my programing class and at the Form Load it enables one of my Timers for me with out the code to enable it, and the I've checked the designer multiple times and its Enabled is set to False.I"ve tried Changing the name of the Timer and it still runs the code and I've even deleted the Timer and made a new one and it still runs it.
Private Sub GameInterFace_Load(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load Login.ShowDialog() If Login.Pass <> 1 Then[code]....
I'm testing the code below from another author, which works well for reading in the data. Despite this, once the data is populated I also need the DataGrid to be able to accept and delete data too. Is it possible to modify the code for this? I tried several things (in properties too) but am not sure if it is possible in this example.
Dim statesXml As XElement = _ <states> <state name="California"> <abbreviation>CA</abbreviation> <year>1850</year> [Code] .....
This there a setting anywhere that will enable you to open the code editor and all sub/functions etc will be "shrunk", i have a lot of sub and hate opening the IDE att the start of the day and having to minimise everything.
I am using the DevExpress aspxgridview in work. The documentation says you need to specify a key field name but I cant find a reason beyond, because we said so. Does anyone know what this is for? Do I only need one, or one for each field?
I have a form called LogIn.vb which has no errors. After log-in, it opens the MainForm.vb which IsMDIContainer property is set to true. From the MainMenu, it opens a child form called Assure_Benefits.vb So far no problem up to this point. When Assure_Benefits.vb loads, it displays 2 DataGridViews with datasourses from my 2 tables in my database.
There is still no problem with the loading. Now, to show the difference between different user types, I only allow the admin to edit the DataGrid. SO I set the readonly property to true when UserType = "user".
I have no problem doing that. My problem is I want to add some codes besides the readonly being set to true and false but other codes are not executed and the program does not display any errors at all. i tried to add messageboxes on the if and else conditions to try if added codes will work but even the messagebox does not appear though the codes next to it are properly executed.
When my Assure_Benefits.vb loads I call for the subroutine below.
Private Sub SetControlProperties() If LogIn.UserType = "admin" Then MessageBox.Show("Yes") 'This line is not executed
[CODE]...
I can't seem to understand why the first code is not executed when the next codes works fine.
