Asp.net - Format International Currencies?

I have an asp.net application that we are in the process of "globalizing", I have the currentculture and currentUICultre being set to the appropriate values and currencies are displaying as expected using the format currency ie.
FormatCurrency(_nPrice) produces $xxx.xx for en-AU and £xxx.xx for the en-GB, however we need to distinguish the currency of the value is being displayed in, other than the symbol because a lot of currencies use the dollar sign. For example we need to display US$123.12 for the States or A$123.12 for Australia. Is there an automatic way of doing this like there is for the symbol.

When calculating currencies in textboxes and labels, what's the best way to go about it?As it appears the $ sign and the , presents a problem when calculating.I thought it best to create a variable without those items when doing the calculation.

I'm very new to programming with Visual Studio(just a few weeks). I've read through a beginner's book and I've started to write my first little programs to get used to coding and to improve my skills. One of the first programs I had created was a simple currency converter. I've created a list box and a combo box with a number of different currencies in them and I want to know if there is an easy way to attach a value to each of these selections. For example, if someone selects British Pound in the list box and Indian Rupee in the combo box, I want to be able to have the British Pound be worth 1.67(versus the dollar) and the Rupee to be 25.00(versus the dollar) for example so that I can create a simple function that will change pounds to dollars and then to Rupees so that I can do this calculation with a multitude of currencies. This appears to be working for domestic phone numbers but it doesn't look to work for international numbers. Is there something I'm missing? Can anyone else try this with numbers you know and just let me know if it's missing anything?

This is not a problem, as my code works correctly, but a question of aesthetics. I have written a programme which compares the prices and terms of up to 10 Bidders and 500 line items in mixed currencies. For this small section of the programme, I paraphrased a jmcilhinney CodeBank example; his looked neat, mine looks ugly.

I am looking for the best way to capture and validate US & international personal data. I have to use ASP.NET 2.0 (vb.net) and no 3rd party web services. This are all client restrictions.
The main point of this is I have to toss their data to FedEx for a shipping quote. I think FedEx has a address checker but that web service was not approved in the scope of the project and its too late to get it added.
My current solution is to just let the field be required and free form then before I save their profile check to see if FedEx will return a quote. If it fails then I will ask them to recheck their profile or contact the admin.

So I have a program that parses a text file, and replaces keywords in it based on some criteria I've set up.I open the file, read it into a string, replace a line, then write that string back to a file.My problem is if the text file has any international characters in it, they get eaten when I rewrite the file.

I'm making an application in school where I have to display the values of domestic, international, and total sales of company "Conway Enterprises." Everything seems to be working except it is not displaying the totalCompany sales as a currency. I'm sure it's probably an easy fix but I've been searching the internet and re-reading my book for awhile with no results. I'm returning a database query into a List object and using that list object to fill the X and Y axes of my chart as seen below. (_runData is a "List(of DatabaseTableName)" style Object filled with the results of my query.

My Datetime field is returning as a Serial Number (i.e. 40116.76111) so I want to format the X Axis to display the field more readably. Enter my problem code.

I am using VS 2005 pro and VB.NET. How do you format the DataGridView.DefaultCellStyle.format property for zip codes and phone numbers. I have a zip code and phone number column(s) that I want to be formatted. I have tried a lot of different things:
Zip code: "99999-0000" or "Phone Number: "(999)000-0000" or "(000)000-0000" and the like So far nothing has worked. I can get my date columns formatted correctly, but not these. Can any one give me some examples that work?

The bottom line on a dropped-down datetimepicker shows the date different then in the text-part.In my case, the text-part format was yyyy/mm/dd, but the bottom part of the dropped down part stated Today: dd/mm/yyyy, what is probably the format set in the regional settings.

I used the String format below :
String.Format("{0:00}:{1:00}:{2:00}", theTimeSpan.TotalHours, theTimeSpan.Minutes, theTimeSpan.Seconds)
It formats the Timespan to this format 49:34:20. How can I add hr mn sec to the String.Format above? or there's another easy way?

In India and other Asian countries money is formatted as following:The first three digits grouped in three then all other digits are grouped in pair of two.eg : 2,54,255.12 5,22,54,255.12 etc string money = String.Format("{0:#,##0.00}", 254255.12);
gives the output 254,255.12
but the output required is 2,54,255.12

All of my regional settings in control panel are set to UK but when I retrieve a date from an SQL database (run from my PC) in my program, it appears in the MM-DD-YYYY format rather than the DD-MM-YYYY format that I expect.
After a bit of troubleshooting I found that this is because of the fact that SQL server always stores its dates in that format - so then when my program reads the data from the database it interprets it as being the US format.How can I convert this to UK format bearing in mind I am working with Date objects not strings?
