How to display record in gridview using pageload event in vb.net ?
i wanna use two SqlDatasource1 and sqldatasource 2 to display record in single gridview1
SqlDatasource1 will display all records from tabel where as SqlDatasource will be used to display particuar record search in table 1 but how to do this ?

My issue is that when the text in the text boxes is changed and the form is submitted, the .text values stay the same as they were when the datareader loaded them on the page load event. I have an ASP.NET 2.0 that contains a dropdown list used to filter records based on a group number. For example, if the dropdown list selectedvalue = 3, only records containing a 3 in the group number column of the table will display. This is working perfectly. However, when the page first displays the default value is 1, and the records from group 1 do NOT display unless I trigger the dropdown list event. I am trying to get the records to display for group 1 when the page first opens to avoid having to use the dropdown when the page loads. The "drop down list control" filters records in a "data list" control.
I am thinking of writing a piece of VB.NET code to automatically call the Drop Down List's SelectIndexChanged event on the page so the user does not have to do it. how do I call that event from the "On Page Load" or, is there a better way to do this?

I have records in a database. Each record has a Picture path in it eg. "C:\Pics\Image1.jpg". I would like to display a record from my database and also the picture for that record, in a .rdlc report in vb .net 2008. i have succeded in displaying the record but just can't get the picture to show. I am using an Imagebox in the report.

Not too complicated, but a simple 2 table related db. On the form the parent table shows customer details with the child table related and displayed by datagrid. I have a field in the child table for images and I have figured out how to store and retrieve images to the db. I am using the datagrid.rowheadermouseclick event to reload the picturebox on the main form as I click down the child table datagrid. Now I need to be able to click the bindingnavigator, go to the next record and have the program reload the image for the next child record. The problem is I'm trying to use an event from either the datagrid or bindingnavigator to reload the picturebox in the child table after moving to the next record, but all of the events I am trying are firing before the next record is moved to and therefor the logic I'm using to retrieve the image from the db is not working.
Anyone with an idea on how to move to the next record and then run my logic to populate the picturebox? What events might I use that fire after the next record has been populated? I know this is probably not that hard, but I have been racking my brain all day now.
I'm maintaining a Datagridview on my Windows Form. When I open the form all the contained records are displaying, which is from SQLserver Table ok. when I open the form the datagridview should show just black and after I insert a new record that particular record should only display on that form gridview. Here is now my dilemma, how can I put multiple row records in a column in the grid view. Is Gridview powerful enough to my scenario below or I really need to edit the store proc or my copy of it.

The application contains a GridView which displays the records of a user table from my created datable. The database is an Sql server database.
The code below inserts data into one table and through the built in function @@Identity to insert the most recently added record id (tt_id) from the trainingTbl table and inserting that record id into the userAssessmentTbl. Adding the identity to the second userAssessmentTbl table works fine.

The issue I'm having seems to be centered on how I insert a uniqueidenifier from a GridView into a userAssessmentTbl database!
And how, I guess using a loop I can insert the UserId records from that Gridview (GridView1) into the userAssessmentTbl table along with the looped id from the @@Identity.
This part of the insert parameter seems to be incorrect:

And the error I'm met with is: 'Conversion failed when converting from a character string to uniqueidentifier.'

I have a GridView control which I am dynamically binding to a DataTable which is populated by a query built based on a set of selected options.What I am trying to do is simply handle the RowDataBound event in order to format specific rows based on the value of a database field. The code in this event handler works fine. My problem is, calling this event causes the GridView to only display the first record in the DataTable, almost as if the Gridview stops after binding to the DataTable after the first row is bound. I have attempted adding the handler dynamically, but I get the same results.I know for a fact that there is sufficient data being returned (the DataTable fills with all of the records, and the GridView shows all the records fine when not touching the RowDataBound event).
I'm adding the handler immediately after generating the query, filling the DataTable, and binding the GridView: [code]I have also determined that, when handling RowDataBound, the GridView's DATABOUND event never gets fired; it seems to stop binding right after binding the first row.

I have 2 dynamically created ddls in which the second ddl populates based on the first ddl and the values of both come from a database. These ddls are inserted into a table that is dynamically generated based on some event. My problem is that everytime I select a value in the first ddl, the page load event is called and I lose the table. Is there a way to NOT call the page load on a selection? Or is there a way to generate the table with the values of ddls as soon as the page loads. I tried to fix this problem
