I'm looking to add [URL] to an ASP.NET/VB project at the login screen. However, is there a way to track invalid attempts and then increase the time required to login? Or will I need to create my own capatcha based system?
I have recaptcha code and its working fine when i tested it , but what i need is that in my registration form i need this recaptcha and the data should be stored to db if recaptcha challenge is passed and if not then the new challenge should bring up.

Is it possible to force the login of an asp:Login control?
Currently when a User registers via a Formview they than have to be redirected to the Login page to sign in with their new account. It is only using an asp:login control verified against a database table not the Membership system.
I am using the asp.net login control with sql server integration. I don't see any references anywhere to being able to log the logins and disabling logins if too many bad passwords are attempted.
Is there a VB codebehind event that can be triggered if it's a bad username/password combo? Basically I had the idea of creating a table that logs the ip and time and whether or not the login was successful. From there I can disable the login control if a certain number of failed logins occur within a timeframe.
I Need Build a user control which works as a Login control using Windows Class Library or Component Template:The user control returns the user name and the password It means that the control has minimum two ReadOnly Property procedures. You let the user of your control (he/she which uses your control in his/her software) to set the background colour of the two labels. Create a Windows application to test your control.

I wrote a big web project that uses the asp.net login control for users. I now wrote a vb winform application and they want to add login to this using the same users and passwords. Is there any way I can use the same login control in a vb.net application?
I am using the template for the login form provided by Visual Basc 2005. I want to add a list box or drop down menu to it for the user to be able to select the desired server to connect to. Is this possible? I have tried declaring a listbox and then adding it to the form but it did not show up.
I have been digging on facebook authentication for a week. I came across so many things such as facebook_connect, Facebook C# SDK from CodePlex and other ways to connect with facebook which are absolute now. Finally after reading url.. for many times, I did manage to have a login button and get user's information for facebook using the new and standard Graph API stuffs. There are in Javascript such as. [code]I can't remove all form authentication from the existing website. Facebook login should be value added feature to the website. Now the few bits I don't get is.How to authenticate the asp.net Form authentication when someone Login to the website using facebook Login. How do I pass all the value in the javascript to aspx.vb to connect to database and store the information.I understand I would need to create a new table in the database, probably called FacebookUsers. But I can't think a way that facebook authentication and asp.net Login control to work together. My website is in VB.net by the way.

In asp.net 3.5, I am using a login control which has an id. When i set the id's font to bold, it sets all the fields to bold. for eg., the login control has "Username", "Password" & "Remember Me" and i want to set only the username & password fields bold and leave the remember field to normal.
I am try to Develop a application that can control a PC using SMS with internet. also i turn on the PC power with a cell phone. but After i turn on the PC it will ask for username & password! I have created a website that works perfect on my machine but when I posted to the server every thing works but the create user and Login. I know when you run it on your machine it saves users at the Web Site Administration Tool. What do I need to do to make it work on the server.
I am trying to automate login and navigation to a website using the WebBrowser control. I can successfully logon to the site using the wb control but after that I can't seem to get access to the newly loaded document's elements within the same routine. I check for ReadyState Complete and IsBusy but they don't seem to be working. There don't appear to be any frames being used at all so I can't figure out why this won't work. I know that the wb control is successfully logging in because I can see the page load in the wb control. However, after the page loads I try to access the HTMLDocument for the new page (after logging in) and it is either set to Nothing or it's the previous page's HTML. I've tried putting in a Sleep to wait for the page to finish before trying to access the HTMLDocument on the new page but it still doesn't work. If I create a button on my form that accesses the HTMLDocument and click it it works fine. I can't figure out how to ensure that the entire page has finished loading within my routine. I tried putting a switch into the DocumentCompleted event but that doesn't work either.
I'm using a WebBrowser control in my current program in a bit of a bastardized way: I don't use it visually, I just use it because I'm more familiar with its events.
So, basically, I create a WebBrowser control and navigate to a page to login. Then, when logged in, I create a new WebBrowser control and navigate to a different page.
I've used this program for four months with no difficulty. Starting today, though, the second phase of that has been going really, really slowly. What used to take 3-5 seconds is taking 25-30 seconds. It still works eventually, it just takes a while.
Usually I would assume this was a server problem. However, navigating to the exact same URL in Firefox happens extremely quickly. Weirder still, within the program there is a user WebBrowser control -- I can copy/paste the URL the previous (not visible) WebBrowser was navigating toward into this user WebBrowser, and it goes just fine.
What in the world could be holding up this other "custom" WebBrowser? I don't even know where to begin in diagnosing this.It might be important to note that the site this is working based off recently underwent some changes -- but I can't imagine why that would affect only these "custom" WebBrowsers and not the user one in the same program.
I'm working on a pretty simple project, just a WebBrowser app which is tailored for Webmail. I'm working on an OWA portion, and OWA normally doesn't allow the textfields on the Login page to be auto-filled. Is there a way I can force this? Search through the OWA login page code, find the fields, then fill in the fields with preset/saved data?
I use the webbrowser control to navigate to certain websites and login and retrieve some data. For that I created a sub for each website. On the form i have a button that calls every sub when clicked. The problem is that I don't know how to pause or stop the process once started. If I quit the program it will still run in the background until all calls complete. I tried to use a thread, but that doesn't go well with the webbrowser control.
Design a form, which contain a TEXTBOX control that accept a UserID input, with a CommandButton control to perform a validation based on the criteria listed below. Display a Message on whether the UserID is Valid.
Criteria:
The UserID must contains SIX digits follow by a single character, limit the entry to a maximum of seven characters only.
The postfix character of the UserID is derived from the summation of all the six digits divided by seven and using the remain as followed:
I created a SQL DB named MainDB.mdf and a small VB 2010 application with some forms and datasets.Everything was working OK until i got a new computer and re-installed Visual Studio 2010 and SQL server 2010 on it. I copied my DB from the old to the new computer and also copied by VB 2010 project to it. I used Windows Authentication to connect to the DB in the old computer and also in the new one, i am using different Windows user account names though.
I was able to connect to the DB in the new computer in the Server Explorer section, i created a new connection string to the DB and i can seed there is data in the tables. When i run my VB 2010 application created in the old computer get error:
"Cannot open database "MainDB" requested by the login. The login failed. Login failed for user 'D630Admin'."
I need to get rid of that error and be able to add/mod/del data from my DB using my VB application as i used to.
how can i login when user type password and they press enter that login code can be activiate. What event can be using for this, i m using button_click event. need textbox typed value and press enter it should be login to that next form.
Alright, So with this game I am Making with VB I am Confused on how to make the login system to make the registered user to login to his character automatically other then having to make a new character? Here is my login System code not much[code].....
May i know how to change my below login code to support for multi access level login? So that i can differentiate between manager and normal employees login so that i can enable or disable certain features for different department? I have the below code that can serve as a basic login.

I am currently working with VB.net 2005. I am trying to create a login form and use a text file as a database to login. The part login form is fine but i can't connected to the text file. When i use my coding with a database such as access or mysql is work fine.
It is simply a "Y" in the road. If they are Company A, then I want to send the username and password over to that website and log them in as if they typed it in there. If they are Company B, then the same thing but with a different website. I do not know the term for this, so the google results are not very pretty.I can not do this with a query string (not that I'd want to anyway) as I do not want the username/pw to be visible. Here is the other weird thing. This can be done via a simple HTML <FORM> and Submit button as I have tested it. But I want to do it all in VB.NET code. How is it that it is possible with some simple HTML but not possible in VB.NET? I guess it could be a security thing, right? What do the good guys like us do when we legitimately just want our employees to go to one login page, enter their username/pw, and then (based on their username) send them to either pageA.aspx or PageB.aspx which receives their username/pw that they only entered once before on the first page?
So I should be able to use "getelementbytagname" right? Also, the formId is logmein (log me in)
<form id="logmein"....
This is what I came up with:
Dim webbrowserDocForm As HtmlElementCollection = WebBrowser1.document.GetElementsByTagName("logmein") For Each curElement As HtmlElement In webbrowserDocForm Dim controlValue As String = curElement.GetAttribute("Value").ToString
[code]....
in the next code it's tagname is "input" or "text"? Because I found:
webbrowserDocForm = WebBrowser1.document.GetElementsByTagName("text") For Each curElement As HtmlElement In webbrowserDocForm Dim controlName As String = curElement.GetAttribute("name").ToString
[code]....
It doesn't give me any errors no more, but it doesn't work either.
