Asp.net - Redirection To User Page Not Happening?
Dec 14, 2011
I am using simulator account with server_asp.net-kit. When I am running the application I reach the Ready to Send the Notfication POST page.
But from here I don't know how to redirect. I have tried:
RedirectURL=" & strYourSiteFQDN & strVirtualDir & "/PaymentConfimationPage.aspx?reasonCode=002" & vbCrLf
in notificationPage.aspx page.
Do I need to use this page? How to redirect? Code I have is in VB whether C# code available?

I have a user control that checks if a certain query string and session value are present then returns a boolean based on that, if it's true I want to set the master page. The page is throwing an Object reference exception when it tries to call the method EditUser1.UserAuthorization(). Why is this happening? I imagine that the method doesn't exist at that point in the stack. Protected Sub Page_PreInit(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Me.PreInit

I want to create several folders on a specified drive, some are up to 3 levels deep such as x:users\%username%Documents
%username% would be a folder created after the users actual user name
What I would like to be able to do is create these folders for each username that resides on computer including the "default user" however the rest of the built in windows accounts I do not need to do this with.
I then want to change the registry setting under each user, for example these two keys (their are more keys however but they all follow this except for the last part of the key where instead of personal it would be named videos or something):
HKUS-1-5-21-9999999999-999999999999-9999999999999-1002SoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionExplorerShell FoldersPersonal: "C:UsersTest UserDocuments"
HKUS-1-5-21-9999999999-999999999999-9999999999999-1002SoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionExplorerUser Shell FoldersPersonal: "%USERPROFILE%Documents"
specifically this value needs to change "C:UsersTest UserDocuments" and this one "%USERPROFILE%Documents"
However it is my understanding that this key is specific to each user based on the S-1-5-21-999999999999-999999999999 number which I believe is referred to a GUID.
I know how to create a folder, I know how to change other registry settings that have integers but I am stumped on this.

I want to access a page variable from a user control placed on that page. All the solutions work in C# via casting to the page class. The problem is that this doesn't work in VB. The page class is not selectable from the Intellisense dialog. Manual typing results in the error type not defined. It is strange that C# can do this without a problem. What is the proper solution for this in VB? I had other cases where I needed to access a control on the main page. C# again uses a cast to the page class to access the control. This doesn't work in VB again. So how can I access the page class from a user control in generell?

I want to create a notes app for Windows Phone 7 using Visual Basic.I have read a few tutorials but they are all suited for C# not VB. Basically, I have a main page and a page to add notes. Once the user types out a note on the add notes page, the title of that note appears on the main page. I also want the user to be able to select that title and it will display the note. I have done a bit of research and I know I will need to use isolated storage (not sure how to implement it in VB) to save the notes. I think I will also need a list box that will store the title of the notes.

I have a ToolStrip Control on a MDI Container. The ToolStirip has some ToolStringButtons on it. We are using .NET Framework 2.0 and VB.NET. If the Container doesn't have focus , the toolStripButtons do not recieve click, but if do the same with normal button it happens. how we can make these buttons click even of the form doesn't have focus. I tried fixing it by using Form Activate event and check if the button is selected fire click event.

I have an app that basically monitors states, then when a state has changed, a notify form is triggered to show for the user.Timers are used on the form to showing a fading in/out of the form (somewhat like MS Outlook new email notification windows).I'm using a delegate from the main form to show the form, but when the first timer in the form is set to start, the timer's tick event is never ran. Everything up to that point in code works perfectly though. Is there something I need to do in order for the tick event to fire, like it would without the use of a delegate to show the form?[code]

I am using the (I assume pretty widely used) following code for Global Hooking of the mouse.

I'm looking to create a simple program with 1 text field, 1 button, and an area to display what is happening and if there were any errors. My goal is to be able to delete user profiles stored on a network drive by simply putting in the users ID and hitting the button.I'll use my own id as an example:If I put mdesieno in the txt box and hit the button, I'll need the button to map to the network drive and delete mdesieno.corp and mdesieno.v2 I would like the bottom half of the window to display text like:
"Deleting User Profile mdesieno.corp" SUCCESSFUL
"Deleting User profile mdesieno.V2" SUCCESSFUL
To me this seems pretty simple, but as I said, I do not know VB yet. Is there code out there that is already written to do something like this?

I have an aspx page that has two different user controls. I want to find user control A and be able to set properties, etc., from user control B.
I was thinking I could do something like this:
Dim CMFilters As Control = Me.Parent.FindControl("CMFilters")
...but that doesnt work to be able to set properties and call methods. I somehow need to get the user control and and declare it as that user control type.

I am kinda' restricting the user not to see the forum page in the current site (http://thisSite.com/forum.aspx), if the user is not logged in.I am not sure how to redirect the user back from the login page [url] back to the [url]
i tried placing response.redirect in my forum.aspx like this: response.redirect("https://somethirdpartysite.com"), but it's not behaving as expected.

I have a base page class that inherits from Page. We'll call it SpiffyPage. I also have a user control called SpiffyControl. I then have an aspx page, ViewSpiffyStuff.aspx, that inherits from SpiffyPage. On page load, the SpiffyPage class is supposed to inject a SpiffyControl into the aspx page. The problem is that SpiffyControl is a user control, and to instantiate that in the code behind one has to access the ASP namespace, sort of like: ASP.controls_spiffycontrol_aspx MyControl;
But SpiffyPage isn't an aspx page, it's just a base page, and as such I can't access the ASP namespace, and I therefore can't instantiate a SpiffyControl in order to inject it. How can I achieve my goal?
Edit: One important point is that I must have a reference to the actual control type so I can assign values to certain custom Properties. That's why a function like LoadControl, which returns type Control, won't work in this case.

I'm just starting to learn vb.net and have never worked with cookies. I'm wondering if I can store an array of name value pairs in a cookie, so they can be retrieved by index number. I'm not really even sure if that's the best way to handle the issue. I basically want to have three things: an 'add/delete' page that has a text box for creating new favorites, along with a list of their current favorites, with the ability to individual delete favorites from the list.be able to display their existing favorites from the cookie on a separate page and a button I can put on all my pages for 'add this to favorites'I don't mind doing the research, of course, but really need direction on what will be required. Having never worked with cookies, I don't really know the limitations.

I am trying to figure out how to declaratively pass in a event handler into a user control, but I am stumped. All I can make work is the user control's event handler.. I can't seem to bubble up the caught event into the parent page. Ideas would be quite welcome. Here is my code:Default.aspx:

<%@ Register TagPrefix="rpt" TagName="filter" Src="WebUserControl.ascx" %>
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN"

I have done this the other way many times as it makes sense (the page knows about the control as it has been added to the page and can handle the 'child' event)
Is it possible to do it the other way? I think not as the control doesn't know what page it is going to be on
The reason i ask this is that I have a modal popup on the page to ask users to login, and it is only when the user has logged in that I want my user control to go away and execute some code but I am not too sure how to tell the control this has happend?

i'm trying to learn about user controls. I created a user control that has a textbox and a button. What i'd like to be able to do is when i click the button in the user control, populate a label in the aspx page. I understand that i could just have a button on the page that uses some properties on the user control to get that information.. but i'd like to know how to do it with the button the user control.. the reason for this is the button is just an example.. a learning tool. if i can get this working, i'd likely be putting thing in the user control that might require this kind of passing information. Anyway.. i've found some c# examples that i tried to get working as vb.. but once started getting into the delegates and events..
