Asp.net - Specify Different Doctype Based On Browser Type?

I would like to specify a different doc type based on the browser type. I want to specify
For Non - IE
<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN">
For IE
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd">
The reason being, the Report Viewer control is playing up in non-ie browsers with XHTML Strict doctype. See [URL] for more details.
Couldn't find a way to this from within the XHTML/ASPX file.

I have a question about the DocType line in an XMLDocumentType. What I would like to know is what is a SystemId? I have found a few resources to explain that it is the location of the DTD and I understand that. That is the obvious bit. The part I am not understanding is what does it mean when the path can be relative to the location of the XML? I have got this piece of info from here.
I am interested in writing a line like the one below with just the filename of the dtd and not the exact location like this
C:program filesvisual basicetcetcBooksLibrary.dtd
<!DOCTYPE Library SYSTEM "BooksLibrary.dtd">
Which indicates that path is relative to the location of the XML document.

I have a List<Object> where Object contains Name, Month, Type, Value.
is it possible to sum all the Value based on type, and then based on month?
I am using .NET 3.0 in VB.NET I was doing withe like 4 For loops, but its taking a while to run.
For clarification, I have something like this:

This is my first web-based application using VB 2008. I had no idea where to start so I just chose the 'Wpf Browser Application' and started adding the controls on the form and naming them the same as I would do with a normal non-web-based vb app. I ran the XBAB file under bin/debug using IE and the form showed up but I couldn't enter text or anything even though the textbox was set to enabled?

However the items in the list that the listbox is bound to are not all String types. Some are DateTime and a few are Integers. I would like to have a datetimepicker displayed instead of a textbox for the DateTime types. How can I make this happen.To clarify some points the list is populated at runtime using reflection so I don't know which fields are what types ahead of time.

I'd like to integrate Webkit.NET into a VB project, but I'm not having any luck so far. The Webkit.NET tutorial page gives a demonstration in C#, so I assume that it's possible to use this in VB.NET as well? [URL]
I added the control to the project successfully, but since I'm not familiar with C#, I haven't been able to convert the code successfully (even after running the code through a few different online C# to VB.NET converters). So... has anyone gotten Webkit.NET (or any Webkit-based browser) to work in VB.NET? Or am I just dreaming? I would love to be able to use the default .NET WebBrowser control for this project, but this project requires doing a few things that the IE browser is not capable of (but Webkit can do it easily).

I am new to VB but I do have VS2005 and I was looking at some code examples here on deleting files by days old and I need to do something similar, I would like to start a say C:myData**.xit and search through all sub folders under myData and move all the .xit files based on days old into a temp folder. Then I could verify them before I delete them manually to be safe. So how do I loop through all sub folders? and can I just modify this code to do that? I have had several occasions recently to access a specific class several times over a relatively small time frame.So I've been storing the value of the class in Session and trying to access it on page load, if it's not available creating a new instance and storing that in session.
So instead of constantly replicating the same code for different classes on different pages I'm trying to create an extension method to do this for me.

I am attempting to make a browser. I have a menu drop-down where the user can choose one of a couple colors. I set up each button, panel, text, etc... as my.settings. I have tried to write the code two different ways, but neither works. How would I fix this?

I am creating a webbrowser with Visual Basic, and I have finished everything but this: When I click on an external link, (I.E. On a photo, or on youtube) it opens up in a new IE window. I want it to open in my browser, not Internet Explorer.I have read everything I have found on this subject, but it is all for normal web browsers. I coded a web browser over the course of a year called Nova - very advanced with tabbed browsing, bookmarks, homepage, history, etc etc etc etc. I could go on all day about how advanced it is. But.. there is one flaw. You cannot make it the default browser; I don't know the code!I already know the CommandLineArgs stuff so it actually opens the HTML file rather than just opening the program; in fact, I already can make files open with Nova completely. It's just the other stuff - you know, when a website is to be opened from a help file or something, it opens with Nova, Windows recognises it as the default browser, stuff like that.

Other topics around the Internet are all unfinished topics, so I'll ask this myself. How do I set a self-made browser as the default browser? I know it has something to do with accessing the registry and checking what the value is in some places, but I'm not quite sure. Now, I've made this browser called Nova;
very well coded and advanced, tabbed browsing, bookmarks, homepage, history, can change default search provider, uses Gecko as its engine so it's not just an IE shell, etc. It's been developed over the past year and will still continue to be developed. I'm almost ready to release the first version - but I just need this annoyance solved.

I am trying to make a web browser for a school project... and I have a few questions...
The first being that I have a textbox for my address bar and I want it to do a few things, I want it to expand when i set my browser to fullscreen , be able to press enter when typing in it and it will take me to that webpage and for it to show recent history... (i know it seems like a ton of expectations mainly i would like the first 2 the third is not as important) So i dont know how to do any of that...
I also would like to know how to go about making new tabs on demand and not have a bunch of tabs just sitting there...
last question how do i go about making new windows not just for browser windows but, making something like firefoxes options window.. not necisarily to do that but just to make i guess another form pop up...

I am drawing a total blank and my web searches are not giving me what I am looking for.
I initially developed this with a Windows FolderDialogBrowser control, but it will not run on the web server, likely a security issue, and I can not change it.

I am creating a project in VB.NET in which one of the reports require that the name of employees should be displayed as column names and whatever work they have done for a stated period should appear in rows below that particular column.Now as it is clear, the columns will have to be added at runtime. Am using an ODBC Data source to populate the grid. Also since a loop will have to be done to find out the work done by employees individually, so the number of rows under one column might be less or more than the rows in the next column.Is there a way to create an empty data table and then update its contents based on columns and not add data based on addition of new rows.

I have been searching a lot online but couldn't find a solution for my problem. I want it to refresh every certain interval of time without this message to display. Now Ican't minimize my program because I'm putting an automatic Sendkeys.send("{Enter}") after the refresh to get rid of that message by clicking on "Retry".And If I minimize it the Enter will be executed on the active Window, which might be any other Window.
I hope that you understand what I mean, If not, I will clarify more.

Q2: How do I make it so when you click a link in your custom web browser that it opens a new window in your web browser, say I click a button on the internet and it opens in IE and I wanted it to open it in my custom web browser that I made with VB.
