<edit on 10th March 2010.>
Changed thread type to QUESTION. I was then able to mark AS ANSWER the relevent post which now also immediately follows this post and so it is easier to find as suggested by forum user j2associates .
<edit> It is also my 3rd post in this thread, the 8th one up, of my posts, from the bottom ( for now ), as the forum format has changed yet again.I will leave the rest of this post( as is ) purely for historical reasons. I have been on these forums long enough to see 3 forum changes. <edit> 19th May, 2010> Link added to a video on the next line of text.

I have a VB.net app (which I will turn into a webform soon), my app generates a datatable of values (3 columns and on average about 1000-3000 rows).What is the best way to get this data table into an SQL Server? I can create a table on SQL Server no problem but I've found simply looping through the datatable and doing 1000-3000 insert statements is slow (a few seconds). I'd like to make this as streamlined as possible so was wondering is there is a native way to insert all records in a batch via ADO.net or something.

I'm trying to insert data onto a SQL server database. The Database connects up fine and retrieves data but I'm having difficulty inserting new data. [code] The query works if I run it through the table in database explorer and value of dim h shows 1 (rows affected). However, nothing gets updated.

I've been googling for some VB.Net code to authenticate to a web server with the POST method, receive a session ID in a cookie, and then send this cookie along with all GET queries... but all I found is half-working code or C# code, ie. difficult to use for a VB.Net newbie.

Access <asp:table> table rows added by javascript in asp.net webform . Apologies for the duplicate question but I'd really like an explanation why this is the case. It is probably due to my lack of understanding on how browsers process HTML tables on submission to the server.If I have a <HTML> table or an <asp:table> control on an aspx page and I add rows to it client-side using JQuery / Javascript, why can I not include these added rows in a post-back to the server?
I've been trying to get this to work and it looks like I can't do it based on the answer to the previous question. But can someone explain why this is the case? The table itself can be returned in the post-back but the only rows present are the rows that were part of the table when it was sent to the browser originally - it does not include the rows added by the browser.there was a way to include these new rows in the post-back, the same as any client-side user input?

I've code this code below:
Private Sub Form1_Load(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load
Dim hwrRequest As HttpWebRequest = HttpWebRequest.Create("http://www.example.com/web-service.php")
[Code]....
The MsgBox() at the end shows the response, which as I've added to my script, echos the result from the $user and $pass variables which are supposed to retrieve those details being written to the stream above, but they show up empty.
I'm retrieving those values by doing: $user = $_POST["user"]; $pass = $_POST["pass"];

I've found a scale, Detecto AS-350D [URL].. that hooks up to a computer. I was hoping someone could help me figure out how to get the information (weight) from it. I've looked around but can't seem to find any information on it. I've never wrote a program where I accepted data from a device likes this so kind of confused where to look.
Update: I'm coding in VB, and the device connects to the computer via serial port.
