Asp.net - Radio Button List SelectedItem.Value Not Working When Compared To A String?

I am using VB.NET and I can't compare the radio button lists selectedItem.Value to a string, it doesn't work...here is the code: (I have also tried selectedValue it does not work either)

Why won't it evaluate that rblOne.SelectedItem.Value = "No" !?!?!? I tried rblOne.SelectedValue, that doesn't work, AND I added .ToString to both, which did not help, I even tried it w/ "No".ToString...this doesn't make any sense.

User will use a button1.click to open a filedialog to locate the file they needed. after which, the name of the file will appear on a textbox. Button2 is an OK button to write the filename into a txt file. Button2.click will work with the 3 radio buttons - meaning when Radio Button 1 is true and Button2.click is clicked, the filename will be saved asFile1.txt.if Radio Button 2 is true and Button2.click is clicked, the filename will be saved as File2.txt. I have a radio button control on a web form. The members of my ListItem collection are
assigned the following.
Text No
Value 0
Text Yes
Value 1
So what I need to do, is to readd a varchar value from my database and if the column value returned equals 'Yes' then I need to select the radio button that has the assigned value of 1. Otherwise if the value read from the database is 'No', then I need to select the radio button assigned a value of 0
So how can I set the value for my radio button? I experimented and could not figure it out. The 'Yes' or 'No' value is stored in my database in the field ds.Tables("employee").Rows(0).Item("answer")
So I tried something like this which is not correct:
RadioButtonList1.Items.FindByValue(ds.Tables("employee").Rows(0).Item("answer") = "Yes").Equals(True)

i have problem that i know once someone answers, i will kick myself, but here goes. i need to move the text next to the radio button to the left of the radio button, that part is easy just make sure the the "right to left" is maked yes, got it. but, the problem is i am making a seating chart and the seats are labeled 10-a, 10-b etc.... when the right to left is set to yes my text reverses and becomes a-10 and i can't seem to figure out what is set in the properties the is causing the alpha to be placed before the numeric.

I added a login form in the end of my vb 2008 gymnassium project. ie i created it last the form coding is right but when i execute the project,the list button(the coach,member,supply lists) doesnt work when i change the startup of the project to login_form it works when the startup in the project properties is Main_form. what to do?is there some arrangement problem?or startup problem ?or something that im not doing?

trying to write a simple form for calculating professor's salaries depending on their degree and position.my problem is that the when i select a check box, the value is not being updated until i select a different radio button. it probably doesn't make much sense here,

I'm writing a program that reads a directory of xml files (not well-formed), parses the xml, and dumps the data into an Excel Workbook.The file contents are similar in that they have many common xml nodes/attributes.Some files have additional nodes/attributes.The xml in these files represent configuration settings for a Web Application, one file per user.The expected output is a worksheet with a column for each node/attribute combination and a row of node/attribute values for each user.I'm just about finished with the program, but I've run into a bit of a snag.As the final step in the process, I need to loop through a generic list of array objects (that represent a user row) and send the array elements to Excel.I don't know the correct syntax to get the array objects out of the list and have been unable to find sample code specific to generic lists of array objects.[code]

In my project I would like to call an exe so that exe pop up will come with a Login Screen with 2 buttons Login and Cancel.In those 2 buttons, login button is focussed default. Now my application should invoke the Login button automatically. Means there won't be Pressing ENTER KEY or Mouse Button Etc. Just after the Login Screen, there is a 2nd Screen that has 5 different Radio buttons, the 1st Radio button is always the default. So I also want to click this radio button automatically without using the keyboard or the mouse. y intention is that, the application should do that automatically.
I have tried with getting the handle of the focused Button by GetFocus method and tried to send that handle to the application by SendMessage and PostMessage. But it's not working.So can any body give some suggestion regarding this?

I am using MS Visual Studio 2005 and SQL Server 2000 to develop an application. I wish to make a list of radio buttons when I fetch a particular column from a table. for example, I fire a query that returns to me 10 types of candies, (yummy!). I want to show these candies as options on the form. I want to use Radio Buttons. Now the number of candies are not fixed, it can be any number (less than 15-20). I need help in finding out if there is a more efficient way of writing my code. The code below is a list of radio buttons all of which have different values for example
radiobutton1 has a value of 1
radiobutton25 has a value of 20
the values are stored in a variable called 'count'
the 'count' is incremented by the ammount from the radio button clicked.
Is there a way the radio buttons can be compressed into a for loop and if so how can i still access thier each values.
