Asp.net - Bind Radio Button List To Column In Gridview
Sep 22, 2010
I have radio button list in a gridview that needs to be bound to a column. If the value in a column is 0, the first radio button is selected, if 1, the other is selected. This is the code, some of it is partially removed because it is not necessary
I'm trying to sort records in the gridview right after a radio button is selected. My approach is with the dataview, but because the dataset variable doesn't survive a round trip to the server, I don't know how to make this happen.[code]
Here is the asp code for the design, I have a gridview that lists all Leave dates selected w/ 2 radio buttons . The user may choose if it is for whole day or halfday which are represented by a radio button. I want to get the value of each row if the user wants half day or whole day for me to calculate the leave days.
-I can already get the value but on the first 5 rows only since my gridview is paged with paging size of 5. how can i get the value for the other items if I have more than 5?
So in this gridview, there is a column for status and I want to have a drop down list with Pass, Pending, Fail appear when the edit button is clicked. These values are already in a table, so I need to somehow bind from this table to each ddl for every row. Here is the column from the gridview. As you can see, I would like to just have a label showing when not in edit mode, and a ddl when the edit button is pressed
<asp:TemplateField HeaderText="During Production Status" SortExpression="DuringProductionStatus"> <EditItemTemplate>
Is it possible to have a Radio button list, like we have a checked List box?Actually I want to load all the options from database to the list but do not want user to allow to check more than one item.
Also how to read it (say item 4 of the list) I want to store its value in the variable.
if I want to check whether dgvSearchCustomers.Columns(7) value is 1 or 0 so I can set RadioButtons accordingly, along the lines of (Rough Guess )
vb.net If dgvSearchCustomers.Columns(7) value is 1 Then Me.rbtActive.Checked = CBool(CheckState.Checked) Else Me.rbtInactive.Checked = CBool(CheckState.Checked) End If
I am using VB.NET and I can't compare the radio button lists selectedItem.Value to a string, it doesn't work...here is the code: (I have also tried selectedValue it does not work either)
[Code]...
Why won't it evaluate that rblOne.SelectedItem.Value = "No" !?!?!? I tried rblOne.SelectedValue, that doesn't work, AND I added .ToString to both, which did not help, I even tried it w/ "No".ToString...this doesn't make any sense.
I am trying to add text from a text box into a list box when the radio button unseperated list is selected. i can do this easily. howeve ri now wnat to put text into the list box from the text box when the sepereated by comma radio button is selected
i have problem that i know once someone answers, i will kick myself, but here goes. i need to move the text next to the radio button to the left of the radio button, that part is easy just make sure the the "right to left" is maked yes, got it. but, the problem is i am making a seating chart and the seats are labeled 10-a, 10-b etc.... when the right to left is set to yes my text reverses and becomes a-10 and i can't seem to figure out what is set in the properties the is causing the alpha to be placed before the numeric.
I have a gridview that is bound to a datasource on a Windows Form (VB.NET). The grid displays a list of "certifications", and each "certification" can be associated with many languages. So in the grid, I'd like to display "languages" as a column, and display a comma delimited list of the language names for each "certification".
In the "certification" class, one of the properties is a list of "language" objects, and each "language" has an ID (guid), name (string), and value (integer).
So in the datasource, I have the list of "languages", but I can't figure out how to display them in a column on the grid. The gridview won't let me add the language list property as a column.
So is the ONLY way to add a new property on the "certification" class, which returns a string that contains the comma delimited list, and show THAT on the grid? Or is there a way to display that list of "languages"?
trying to write a simple form for calculating professor's salaries depending on their degree and position.my problem is that the when i select a check box, the value is not being updated until i select a different radio button. it probably doesn't make much sense here,
Public Class frmMain Private Sub optLecturer_CheckedChanged(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles optLecturer.CheckedChanged[code]....
the values being assigned to my salary label are correct, but are not being updated until i select a new radio button. im not entirely sure how to get around this so that the value is updated as soon as i select the check box.here's when the program looks like:
The other 5 items are text boxes. This is working great - changes in these textboxes get pushed to the DATATABLE with no programming effort on my part. How would we use a method like this to bind a single field in a DATATABLE to something like 3 radio buttons.Let's say we have a field called PrimaryPhone - which can have an H for HOME, C for CELL or O for OTHER. We want to have 3 radio buttons that control whether the H, C or O gets pushed into the DATATABLE.
Algorithm to count the time that occured on the same period, how to bind the dictionary to the GridView? Pls take a look to the answer.
I tried to add a GridView and then on the code-behind: GV.DataSource = timeRangeCounts and bind it, but in return:
The data source for GridView with id 'GV' did not have any properties or attributes from which to generate columns. Ensure that your data source has content.
take a look at the code below:
The first helper class is used to hold the counts of exact and sub range matches:
Public Class TimeRangeCounter Property ExactRangeMatch as Integer Property SubRangeMatch as Integer
I have bind the DataGridview with DB. To add the data from textboxes to DataGrid, I use the foll. code-
Private Sub Button2_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button2.Click Try Dim row0 As String() = {TextBox1.Text, TextBox2.Text, TextBox3.Text}
[CODE]...
Error is coming: Rows cannot be programmatically added to the DataGridView's rows collection when the control is data-bound. there is no any way to add data to the Gridview if we bound it to the Database.
How can I bind the GridView so that one row is equivalent to one item in my MyListOfObjects list, and so that the data will populate and persist across page loads or postbacks? I've never done custom databinding like this before, so a full explanation would be very helpful. All the tutorials I've come across so far only talk about using GridViews directly with Database query results, and that's not what I need.
I have a Master Page with nested pages in ASP.NET. Fairly simply I want to databind some hyperlinks to a gridview for the master page. This however is throwing a null reference exception when I try to set the DataSource.
I tested the code on a separate page and it works as expected. When debugging I can see the Page_Load Sub hit twice, I don't know if this is the cause I have one nested page being loaded, this is a blank page at the moment
EXCEPTION Object reference not set to an instance of an object. MASTERPAGE CODE BEHIND Protected Sub Page_Load(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Me.Load
I have an array of objects I get from a web service. The 1st element in that array is meant to be displayed in a asp.net literal control. The rest of the elements are meant to be bound to a gridview.
I have a variable defined as follows:Dim iRows As List(Of String())I've also been converting that to a list of lists just to make it easier to work with.Dim iRows As List(Of IList(Of String))I would like to bind that list to a GridView using the contents of the nested array/list to dynamically define the columns. I don't know ahead of time how many columns there will be, but I do know that they are all the same throughout the list.
VB GridView control will not allow code in the vb code file to access a data column that has its visible property set to false. When it is set to true, the data column can be accessed with no problem. Any suggestions as to how to correct this? I have looked through the documentation, text books, and I have not found anything that gave me any clue as to what the problem could be. I thought that the property was just applied to the column, not that it would remove the column from being accessible.
I was assigned a task so as to bind the user related data into a grid view on user login. I have got two web pages, one of which contains Login and authentication information. This goes fine. When user was redirected to second page, I need to provide a GridView control where user details should be automatically updated in grid view control in the back ground.I have three different fields which were saved in sql table. particular user details need to be retrieved from the sql table on user login and bind the data to grid view automatically.
