Attach A Routine To An Event Of All Objects Of The Same Type?

Is there a way to attach a Sub or Function to an event of many controls at once?For instance, to clear a bound combobox I use this routine on the KeyDown event of the combobox:

But if I have many comboboxes, I have to copy the same routine over and over to all of them...Is there a way to attach the routine to the KeyDown event of all comboboxes?
Pseudocode example:

I have the following piece of code: AddHandler sharepoint.UploadCompleted, AddressOf UploadEmailCompleted I require it to work like so: AddHandler sharepoint.UploadCompleted, AddressOf UploadEmailCompleted(message) I think using a delegate may be the way forward. I am using sockets to send message between computers. I send the messages alright. What I want is when the message "x0x" comes, the client must be closed within 5 minutes. Teh admin can cancel the request by sending message "-xx" as well. The routine that checks for incoming connections and accepts messages uses WHILE TRUE...END WHILE since it must always listen. Once I get a message, I need to fire a timer control or other that fires within 5 minutes. But the program cant leave the WHILE TRUE at all. If i exit it early, the timer fires and the program does get exit. How do I fire the timer or other routine while still the WHILE TRUE routine checks for incomin connections and messages?

is there any way to reference a particular code routine in VB.net external to the current loop/routine?Example:

where Routine A and Routine B are code sequences at the end of the entire program -- such as outside of the current sub or class? The idea would be to reference an otherwise repetitive code.

I am just curious, if there is some way to attach handler to my derived classes base event, if I know EventInfo and I have Delegate to handler function. I have tried MyEvent.AddHandler(CType(Me, BaseClassType), MyDelegate) already, but no positive result at all. Consider being in need of attaching handler to custom event at runtime, while derived class possibly shadows this event.

First, I launch a website in Internet Explorer from VB.net and automatically login the user with ther username and password. As soon as the username and password fields are automated, I send "enter" to the website so it goes to the next website. This part works perfectly. However, my problem is that i want to send a mouse click event, which i have already written, to click a hyperlink on the next website page. I tried a few different things, none of which worked. My program is automatically logging in the user and doing the mouse click event at the same time. I have tried to use the "sleep" command, but the mouse click event is still not executing after the second webpage loads. I have tried using nesting "If, then" statements and that has not worked either. Does anyone know how to make sure the webpage fully loads before executing a sendkeys routine or a mouse click event? This is my code thus far:

There are no errors, everything is just executing all at once instead of letting the second webpage load and then executing the mouse click event.

I have a sub routine where I pull in information from a database. I want to use variables from this sub routine in another sub routine. I tried making everything public but it doesn't want to be friendly and share.

The readDB would read the database and set the variables and do whatever it needs to do. Then when they submit the form it would e-mail the form to whatever the email address was.

DataSource is of type Object while Tables("Customerslist") is of type DataTable. How will I know what types of objects can be assigned to the Datasource property?

so im making a projectile motione simulator for physics project got it all working and im drawing the path of the object with this code

however it will draw it behind objects for example if i have a groupbox it will draw(i assume its still drawing at leaste) behind the group box and i cant see it

How find an object's type when it is a subclass of another object and I only know the string value of the object's type's name. I created the following classes:

Then, in my code I create a new properNoun and check to see if it is a properNoun, noun or word:

The problem is, using 'GetType' to check pn against a string value, I can only see that pn is a properNoun, not that its parent classes are noun and word. Is there a way to check pn against the string value "noun" or "word" and get back a positive result, indicating that pn is indeed a noun and a word as well as a properNoun?

I've started working with the backgroundworker class to try and keep the UI responsive while I make some expensive API calls. One of the API classes (details here[msdn.microsoft.com]) has its own event handler which I am using to update a progress bar in a small form that pops up. I'm programming an application in Visual Studio 2010, namely in VB.net. I have been developing an application which uses a derived class inherited from TreeView, with the aim of putting custom objects on the nodes. The method I have been using is to have a variable array against the node (of type object) which contains variables in custom classes to contain each of the variables associated with the node.
The two problems I had to overcome were, how to serialize a TreeView, and how to serialize an array of objects (of variable type). Good thing is I overcame both of these with some work of some other folks (and 3 days of my own work).[code]....

I am trying to create a form where depending on what the user selects, they are shown a collection of images from the web. Depending on what they select there will be a different amount of images so each picture will need to be added dynamically.
I am able to create PictureBoxes dynamically however I'm stumped how to create event handling in order for each control to give a unique response.This is what I originally tried but I got an error..

How ridiculous that you can't include arguments in your AddressOf! Can anyone shed some light on my situation (or knows a better way of carrying out my goal)?

I have created a program that allows the user to click on screen and add many ovalshape objects. But I have got stuck as now I need to create a rightclick event for any of the runtime generated ovalshapes on screen and dont know how to refer the right click event to all the many objects?

What's a sound approach to override the CompareTo() method in a custom class with multiple approaches to comparing the data contained in the class? I'm attempting to implement IComparable(Of T) just so I have a few of the baseline interfaces implemented. Not planning on doing any sorting yet, but this will save me down the road if I need to.
Reading MSDN states mostly that we have to return 0 if the objects are equal, -1 if obj1 is less than obj2, or 1 is obj1 is greater than obj2. But that's rather simplistic.
Consider an IPv4 address (which is what I'm implementing in my class). There's two main numbers to consider -- the IP address itself, and the CIDR. An IPv4 address by itself is assumed to have a CIDR of /32, so in that case, in a CompareTo method, I can just compare the addresses directly to determine if one is greater or less than the other. But when the CIDR's are different, then things get tricky.
Assume obj1 is 10.0.0.0/8 and obj2 is 192.168.75.0/24. I could compare these two addresses a number of ways. I could just ignore the CIDR, and still regard as obj2 as being greater than obj1. I could compare them based on their CIDR, which would be comparing the size of the network (and a /8 will trump a /24 quite easily). I could compare them on both their numerical address AND their CIDR, on the off chance obj2 was actually an address inside the network defined by obj1.
What's the kind of approach used to handle situations like this? Can I define two CompareTo methods, overloaded, such that one would evaluate one address relative to another address, and the second would evaluate the size of the overall network? How would the .NET framework be told which one to use depending on how one might want to sort an array? Or do some other function that relies on CompareTo()?

Problem that you may have when dealing with two objects that are raising some events. Here, to make it obvious, I am closing the form, but the problem can be experienced with any other 2 classes event. First, what is the problem !
