Automatically Getting Closed Whenever The Code Is Invoking Any Common Dialoged Control On VB
Apr 6, 2009
The VB application is automatically getting closed whenever the code is invoking any common dialoge control especially when the MS office Enterprise edition 2007 is installed.
I'm facing a problem with my code. it's all about an if command. When the variable xglobal doesn't fit the rule (if xglobal >=0 and xglobal<=xlimite) a message box should appear, so it does. However, after being closed the message appears again and so on.
Below you can find the code:
Public Sub Button5_MouseDown(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.Forms.MouseEventArgs) Handles Button5.MouseDown If e.Button = MouseButtons.Left Then
I'm trying to implement sql dependency in my vb.net application as per: [url]. I'm having problems with the invoking code, when a notification is received the application locks up with no errors. (When MyOnChanged is called via the delegate). Have I made a mistake in my C# > VB.net conversion? [Code]
I'm calling a asp.net web page in a winform webbrowser control. The webbrowser is being used to take the user information and submit it the database, creating an item On the winform I have a submit button that invokes ("click")

If I look at the webpage source, the hidden value is populated with an value. I think posting the value on to another page will fix my issue, but I want to avoid doing that.
I am attempting to fill the zip code through on Target Mobile Find in Store and click the GO button. However the button does not have an ID when I look at the HTML. I am able to fill the zipcode text box using:
but I cannot figure out how to click the button. I've tried using sendkeys.send("{enter}") but that doesnt seem to do anything. How can I either send the enter key after filling the zipcode or click the button?
I need to trigger the onmousedown property of a table contained on a web page presented in the WebBrowser control of my form. The site is a nested frames mess, but in this particular frame the tables are basically used to create large, context buttons. In other words, you click the table and are navigated to a subform.[code]At first I thought this might be handled by using InvokeMember("click"), but that has no effect. If I try InvokeMember ("onmousedown") I receive a javascript error on the page. Can anyone tell me if/how one invokes the onmousedown property of an object inside of the WebBrowser control?
Wondering if it is possible. It works on the idea that all files share common code. The program would ideally analyse the source file and compare it to the reference files. It would then find common parts of the code and write it to a rebuild file. At the end the rebuild file and the reference files would then be able to rebuild the source file without it being present.
I've inherited a project in VB6.NET 2008. There is a Panel control where graphs are drawn along with titles, axes, legends etc. What is drawn on the panel is also printed WYSIWYG (on a print command, of course) The problem I have is that the code for printing is entirely separate to the code for drawing. I want to merge the two so that common code is used. I'd like to work in the same units for both, which means setting either the pixels per inch for the Graphics object for the printing (so I can work in pixels) or doing the equivalent of the opposite so I can work in inches (printed inches, not screen inches).
I'm a newbie in asp.net. When using FormView, there is a big amount of code in ItemTemplate, EditItemTemplate and InsertItemTemplate which is almost identical.

ListView allows the use of LayoutTemplate - but I didn't see any examples that insert this kind of code in LayoutTemplate. And inserting this code in LayoutTemplate would result in an error.DetailView allows to produce code automatically but I'd like to use a specific design (for ex. using "fieldset" that encompasses some fields).
I am working on a MSDN project from 2007 it calls for a Common Dialog Control but I can not find it. Has this been deprecated and/or is there something to replace it? If not how can I access this in VS 2010 for a VB project?
To simplify things, I have a new VB .NET 2008 Windows Form Application with absolutely no code yet. The only control I have on the form is a stock standard imagelist common control. Using the inbuilt editor for adding images, i've added one single 16x16 jpg image (just to simplify things). If I build and run the application at this point I get the following error. An error occurred creating the form. See Exception.InnerException for details. The error is: Index was outside the bounds of the array. I don't expect to see any images at this point when I 'Run' the application. I just need to work out why I'm getting the error. Later on I'll be referencing the imagelist in another control.
I am trying to minimize my code writing. I have DBLayer base class that selects, inserts, updates and deletes records from database. I need only fieldlist and table name from each derived classes to perform the actions. I have defined static tablename, fieldnames in derived class. Currently I am defining next static functions in derived class for GeneralSelect [which selects all records], GeneralInsert[Which inserts a records], GeneralUpdate[Which updates records as per given id] and GeneralDelete[Which deletes a record of the given id]. The parameter and all functioning are same just the differece is the table name and fieldnames.
One DBLayer Class that performs database actions Class DBLayer Public shared function Query(byval SQL as string) as dataTable
[code]....
... same goes for all other table objects... If I have 20 database tables i have to write getdata method in all 20 class changing only the tablename so i would like to get ride of it. So in order to get ride of it what do i need to do?
I'm new to the .NET platform (old-time ASPer) and for a project have a simple pair of .aspx scripts that take some querystring data and process it. They both make use of the same Subs, Functions in them, so naturally I'd like to move the code to a common resource.vb file. Having done some reading, it looks like my options are a Code-Behind type setup, and placing the Subs, Functions in a .vb file and placing that file in App_Code.So, the Code-Behind model doesn't seem to make sense here, as the functions are shared by both files. Placing the Subs and Functions in /App_Code/resources.vb and I am getting the following error when trying to call any of the routines:
I am migrating VB application in VB.NET. In VB application , there are using Microsoft windows common control 5.0 COMCTL32.OCX. When I add this component in migrated project, it becomes interop_mscommlib.dll. I want to remove any interop dll in my migrated project. So my question is : Is there any .net supported COMCTL32 which i can use and from where I can get that.
It is possible to create windows service using windows form control in vb.net. give me the url or links. The windows forms control such as, Timer control, list-box, notify-icon control etc.
A while ago I wrote a library which helps me simply text operations, serial communications, PLC interaction using OPC Automation, etc... My problem is with the vb6 serial control mscomm32.ocx. In my computer, I can use it with no problem. Everything works fine when testing serial control and my forms can open sucessfully. When I try to run a winform that uses Serial library (mscomm32.ocx) in a computer that doesn't have VB6 installed, I get the error "Common Language Runtime Debugging Services. Application has generated an exception that could not be handled. PRocess id=0xe0 (224). Thread id= 0x6f4 (1780)"
Is there any way to get common control names like Save, Copy or Undo Redo in the user's windows language? (I saw this in some programs which weren't made for my windows language. Also the Yes No Massage Boxes will change...)
I have:1 Picturebox named: picturebox1 ,1 Timer named: timer1 and 3 images named: image1; image2 and image3.What code should I add so that in the timer's tick event it automatically changes the picture in picturebox1 to image1 then image2 then image3 and so on.

is there any control that allows the font to be automatically scaled? example, i want to make the text 80% of the width and height of the control, and it must be centered.
currently im using textrenderer.measurestring repeatedly to determine the largest possible size i could have that would be within 80% of the width and height of the control, and the onpaint handlers graphics.drawstring to keep the text vertically and horizontally centered.
when i click the search button in form1, form2 appears.i get the information i want from form 2 and store it in a variable.when i close form2 and form1 is active again i want this code to run automatically:
Me.userIDsearch = frmUserSearch.NuNameTB Try 'TODO: This line of code loads data into the 'SoftwareLookupDataSet.tbl_software' table. You can move, or remove it, as needed. Me.Tbl_softwareTableAdapter.Fill(Me.SoftwareLookupDataSet.tbl_software)
[code]....
how would i get the above code to run when the focus is back on form1?
This is my first post. I have just started some serious .NET programming. Can anyone help me understand what is a good, industry standard in developing the VB.NET or ASP.NET applications? Should we use the Automatically generated code by the VStudio or we should be coding manually i.e. handling the datasets, populating the controls etc instead of using the automatic generated code using wizards.
I am creating a dll that a third party application runs. When I create a dll from scratch and not a base dll that they gave to me, the code does not automatically compile when I click the f5 (run debugging). Is there a setting that is project specific that would cause this behavior?I use the "start external program" option for debugging.
I'm trying to design a small program for my home server that automatically updates an HTML page every time a new file is added to a certain directory.Example, say I already have 100 files in "C:Folder", and on the HTML page, all those files are listed in a table, and when you click on one of them, the file opens, say I add a new file to the folder, I want the program to automatically add that file to the list of other files, and put *NEW* next to it (newfile.txt *NEW*), and I would like it to say *NEW* for 5 days, so how would I go about making a program that does all that?
What must i do for the program to control the value of x automatically? that is, suppose i click on btn1, value of x must become 0; if i click on btn2, value of x must become 1 and so on.
