C# - Getting Subject Line Of E-mail Using WebDAV And .NET
Jul 24, 2009
I am trying to learn more about webDAV and .NET. I have written an app that needs to pull all e-mails from an inbox on the server. I need to load these e-mails into an object that has the following properties:
- From
- To
- Subject
- Body
[Code]....
Is there like a urn:schemas:httpmail:subject or something like that where I can pull the subject line out? this is the way that I have been told to interact with the Exchange server so if anyone can shed any light on how to modify the above code to add a subject node and WHY - I am sure I can figure out how to modify it further to meet my needs.
So just to be clear, my question is this:
How can I modify the above code snippet to also include the subject line of an e-mail pulled off an Exchange server?
how i can write a realy basic e-mail program. all the program will need to do is recieve mails show the mail in a tekstbox and the subject in an other text box.or if you can tell me how i can let vb read things on my screen...
I need to know how I can use VB2008 to check a pop3 email inbox and only download a certain message with a specific subject line.I have looked and looked and cant seem to find anything.
My mailbox regularly gets emails from people wanting to promote their events. Usually the subject line looks like this:
fwd: come to *TMC* meeting this weekend, <5/19/2012 @ 1300 >
I need a script to read the date, then make an appointment on my outlook calendar, using that date, time and term (TMC) as the meeting title. So it should make an appointment on 5/19/2012 at 1pm, called "TMC meeting"All appointments are 2 hours by default.I used The identifiers "*" and "<>" as an example, and can be changed to be whatever, what is important is that the meeting gets on my calendar with the correct title.
I need a feedback form for my site.i need the user to write there.
Mail Title Info
And then when they press send then i get a mail to my hidden mail and a confirmation is send to the user mail.I have google the web but cant find any good info about this, i know how to make the form but how do i make the codebehind !?
Do any of u pro. have a link to a great tutorial or have a code that can be used !?
I'm converting an application from using WebDav to EWS. I'm now in the process on converting the code the fetch contact.I notice that the property from WebDav were found by using
I'm looking to develop an application in vb.net which can connect to a WebDav enabled web server (using WebDav with login credentials) and upload desired files. Could anyone give me an example on how I can accomplish this task?
I am trying to upload file to sharepoint. Authorization works fine, but it ends up with status OK instead of CREATED. Eventually the file is not created. I do not understand why it's happening since I used approach that seems to work for others (no complaints).[code]...
I am writing some code in VB.Net under .NET 2.0 which interfaces with MS Exchange 2003.Because of the Exchange 2003 "requirement" I am forced to write this code using WEBDAV.The code itself is replicating, to some degree,a schedule management process. It's creating Appointments on the Exchange Server in response to inputs from the user and managing it's data internally in a SQL Server database. The problem situation is this: A new person is assigned to be in charge of a meeting. The requirement says the program should generate a meeting cancellation request to the person removed from the meeting (if such a person existed) and a meeting request sent to the new person. In the case of there being an existing person, what appears to happen is this:
The meeting cancellation request
gets sent Exchange barfs and returns status code 500 (internal server error) during the set of requests which send the meeting request to the new person. However! While debugging this particular scenario, it works just fine for me, if I step through the code in the Visual Studio debugger. Left to it's own devices, it fails every time.Just for yuk's sake, I added a Thread.Sleep(500) to the part after sending the cancellation request, and Exchange doesn't barf anymore...
So, my question! If adding a Thread.Sleep to the code causes this error to go away, a race condition is implied, no? But, my code is running under a web application and is a totally single threaded process, from start to finish. The web requests I am sending are all in synchronous mode so this shouldn't be a problem. [code]....
...but a lot of the implementation details are hidden here, as I wrote a set of classes to interface with Exchange WebDAV.
6 program to VB .NET 2008 that had code that used the CDO 1.21 DLL to validate if a mailbox entered existed on an Exchange server. I saw the one posting from Microsoft that states that CDO is not supported on the .NET Framework. As this is a client application, the article recommended using WebDav to interact with the Exchange Server.
I have a piece of code which sends email with an attachment from my application. The code uses MAPI to send the email. It opens up a new email message so the user can add to the email message, and then the user clicks send. The code works fine. However there is one small problem. The email that the code opens, is always in Microsoft Outlook. Sometimes the application's user has Outlook Express set up as the default client, but my application always opens the new email message in Microsoft Outlook. (Outlook 2003. In the one user's machine that has Outlook 2007, everything works fine and the email opens up in Outlook Express.)As I searched for a solution, I saw this problem posed many times in various places on the Internet, with no solution (or none that worked). I did try several suggestions which involved creating registry settings and registering some dlls.
I am teaching myself vb.net and wanted to change this code to have an embedded mail.boby from a text file instead of the file attachment. Code spippet below and where I need help is mail.Body = ("tracertALL.txt") that just puts the name of the file NOT the contents of the file. This code is a CMDWrapper that runs a batch file and I want the contents of a trace route that is pipe to a file >> tracertALL.txt .
I'm trying to update some older software which uses the now-declared-obsolete System.Web.Mail classes.Unfortunately, I don't really know a heck of a lot about email, so I'm looking for advice.
Here is the fragment of code I'm looking at revising:
[Code]...
From what I can tell, this should be configuring some kind of sending option. I can kind of work out what's going on, but I don't know how I should go about re-implementing it.It's looking like the place to be putting this stuff is now in the System.Net.Mail.SmtpClient.Credentials class, but the information in there doesn't seem to bear any resemblance to what I have here.I'm almost certain I'm making some obvious error, here, but I can't see it. Can someone tell me what I should be doing?
I'm teaching myself vb.net and found this VB.NET SMTP codeand I wanted to add a mail.cc and mail.bcc but get an error Property cc is ReadOnly.and don't know how to fix. then I found this code
Dim CC As MailAddress = New MailAddress(TextBox5.Text) 'For some reason it's required field mail.CC.Add(CC)
public static void Test() { byte[] arrayCertificate;
[Code]....
But this certificate doesn't have a "Subject Unique Identifier" Take a look at this:
[URL] (The part of Structure of a certificate)
And I want to know how can I read that value from my .NET code (I looked that I can get SerialNumber, Thumbprints and others but there is no Subject UID anywhere).
If anyone can share an openssl command to include this UID for the certificate :-) (pfx one)
i am trying to select all the messages written from a certain from_id but only display the latest message with the same subject id. for example my messaging table looks like this:
Id From_ID To_ID Subject Subject_ID
[Code]...
each message is created with a unique ID, if the message is in the same message chain i.e. a follow on message the subject id is the same as the message ID. i have the code to select by the current user that's logged in Dim query = From p In db.Messages Select p Where p.From_ID = Userid But i am unsure how to group it by the newest message with the same subject id.
MVC3, VB.NET. I have a function in my app that is supposed to use a html file's contents for the email body. However what I have so far is failing at the mail.body = file.readalltext(_body) line..
I have a small program that reads a network drive and produces a simple text file with the names of all documents in the directory - it works great. I need to modify this and add the "subject" property to the listing, such as: DOCUMENT NAME SUBJECT
I was wondering what control is available that would allow NOTES displayed in list format: Top Line: small image + title in bold Next line(s): description (multiple lines). I would like the ability to edit the record by clicking the Row, or the Top Line could be a hyperlink. (Visual Studio 2008 Windows Form app).
i want to open the outlook from my vb.net application. I want to fill out the To,Subject, Body and Attachment part of mail through my application. here i don't need to send mail . I want to just open the outlook with mail parameter.
Below is some code I use to loop through rows in a datagridview and set the row colour subject to a "STATUS" field and also changing font colour and boldness dependant on whether a flag has been set to true.
Is this code optimal / can it be cleaned up somewhat? Public Sub ColourMyGrid() Dim varStatus, varBagTemp As Integer Dim myFont As New Font(grdResults.Font, FontStyle.Bold) For Each row As DataGridViewRow In Me.grdResults.Rows varStatus = row.Cells.Item("Status").Value [Code].....
I am working on a project in which I have to integrate Ms outlook with it. I am able to send mail but, facing problem when I am trying to send a unique Id with that mail by linking it in subject field so that I can fetch the reply with that unique Id only. But when the user reply me back that subject field become editable and that id may be erased by the user. Can I attach or link any id to ms outlook for sending mail and retrieving mail with same id.
How do I edit JPG File Title, Subject, Comments, and Tags/Keyowrds?The Exif information provided was helpful, but in the end did not actually solve the real riddle I was working on. So I'll take another angle at describing the desired result:
I want my VB.NET app to allow me to edit the following details of a Jfile (see image):
Title, Subject, Comments, and Tags/Keyowrds
I had a handy image to include but not enough points to post it. Weak.
RIGHT CLICK A .JPG IN WINDOWS and select PROPERTIES
Win XP: Select the "Summary Tab" and Look at the "Description" group
Win7/Server 2008R2: "Details Tab" and look at "Description" group
how to edit those fields through VB.net in Visual Studio?
EDIT: The ultimate goal is to use the image viewer/editer that I built, to sort thousands of images of random webjunk I have collected over the years.Upon viewing the image (say "00001.jpg") and figureing out what it is ("ceiling cat sends son" picture of a lol cat), I want to type in the description (already done in the form). When I hit enter I want to rename the file (from "00001.jpg" to "ceiling-cat-sends-son.jpg", then fill in the keywords, title, subject, and comments fields with the same data: "ceiling cat sends son".
local indexing and with my (later) automating a SQL server referential database for use with site wide searches on my website. The ONLY thing I can't seem to figure out is how to modify those four fields as if I had right-clicked the file and added the keywords.
Im trying to prepare outlook message (with prefilled subject, attachment etc.) and open it for the user in outlook.
Outlook is 2007, Win 7.0.
Problem is, that I cannot instantiate Outlook.Application. Everytime it fall with ActiveX error (cannot create instance) or CLS ID identifier is invalid.
I tried (as reference have outlook 12 and office 12 object library)
Dim objOutlook As New Outlook.Application - CLS ID error objOutlook = CreateObject("Outlook.Application") - ActiveX error objOutlook = CreateObject("Outlook.Application", "localhost") - ActiveX error
I found a lot of threads in net, but nothing works for me (always same error on PCs of other developers too).
