C# - Mixed Language Woes In Visual Studio 2008?

I'm trying to figure out how to get mixed-language support working in Visual Studio 2008. In my app_code folder, I've created two subfolders (CS, VB), and added the following to the web.config file:

The main application is a VB.NET Web application (with a .vbproj file). Any time I attempt to open a C# file from the app_codecs folder, it treats the file as Visual Basic for compilation and syntax checking purposes. It still tries to build the classes in the CS folder as though they were Visual Basic. (The extension on these classes is, indeed, .cs.)

1) I downloaded the trial version of Visual Studio Professional and I am having troubles getting the Visual Studio trial version to recognize some of the coding.I know the coding is correct.I have heard of a Visual Studio.NET that the course recommends.Is it Available?If not is there a way to correct Visual Studio allow Recognition of this code?

I have a problem that is stopping me from creating my interface properly in Visual Studio. I have a listbox and beside that I have a button. I want the button to be on the right side of the control, level with the top of the listbox, but it is remaining at the bottom of the listbox.

The full error text is as follows: The Visual Studio language support for VB has not been installed. Code-editing IntelliSense will not be available. Markup IntelliSense for server controls may not work.
I am using Visual Studio 2008 Professional Edition. Visual Studio crashed yesterday and now I'm getting this error when I try to edit any code-behind in any project.I have tried resetting all environment settings and that didn't work.I have tried repairing my installation via add/remove programs and that didn't work.
I have tried reinstalling SP1 and that didn't work.I tried creating a new VB Windows project and received the following error: Project "TestVB" could not be opened because the Microsoft Visual Basic 2008 compiler could not be created. Please re-install Visual Studio. However, I already tried the repair/reinstall.
I'm not sure what else to try beyond a full uninstall/reinstall, and I'm hoping somebody has encountered and fixed this problem without having to do that.UPDATE: I have tried uninstalling Visual Studio, rebooting and then installing again and that didn't work. I am now out of options and really need my VB environment restored.

Assuming that the VS environment meant that mixed language programming was real, I set up a VB forms project (VBHOST) alongside a C++ forms project (CPPUNIT) in a single solution "MX" but could not work out how to call the CPPUNIT Form1 from the VBHOST Form1. I searched the forums and found a similar question which was never adequately answered.Presumably the VBHOST-CPPUNIT is simpler than CPPHOST-VBUNIT would be(?)

I have a Visual Basic project and when working and modifying code, the compiler will crash and then a message will say something like "Microsoft visual studio encountered a problem and was shut down." I've tried editing code from the solution and the project. Both produce the error. Usually occurs when adding an "IF...Then..." condition. May work for hours but then crash. Solution will compile and build.

In a while loop, I am writing a progressively increasing integer value (between 0 and 100) to the Value attribute of a ProgressBar control, when it disappears from the window in which it resides. I have verified at the time that it disappears that the Min is 0, Max is 100, and Value is a valid integer in range.

For my sins, I have to work on a large VB.NET project and it often locks up for 20 seconds at a time whilst doing the very helpful background compilation

I am very new to Visual Studio Application Development. I'm mostly a DB guy. I used Visual Studio as a Report Designer, not much of an .Net guy though I can understand it. I am now asked to create a .net application and I'm trying to create a "Hello World" starter app. I opened my Visual Studio, click File-New Project and all I see is Business Intelligence Projects and Other Project Types. I recently loaded my copy of MS Visual Studio 2008 Standard Edition, with Visual Basic, on to my new laptop, one with a Windows 7 operating system. I have been working on a game development program for a few days now. And have come to a halt on one part, and thats adding a 3D space in the program. This is probably a really easy question but i cant seem to find an answer anywhere.I've got a datagrid in which the first 2 columns are comboboxes.I have them populating from 2 different datasets but what i need is for the second one to be filtered, depending on what is selected in the first.How is the best way to pass the selected value from the first combo to the query in the second?On a related note, how can i set the combos to values i pull back from a query?Basically I'm running a query to pull back a load of information that has been previously entered and then populate the grid so that it can be viewed/amended, but i cant seem to set the value (or the display value) to what i pull back, even when it appears in the list of options in the drop down.

i have a form app that needs to get the output of a console app in real time.or as close to it as possible.[code]that is my code so far, and it seems to work great for everything other than the actual console app i need it to.when i use it on ping commands it comes up in my text box perfectly.when i use it with my console app (which i don't have access to the source for) it outputs nothing until the app closes, sometimes.it depends on the arguments given. i am 100% sure it is the way the app is written but there is nothing i can do about it.so is there any way to get the desired functionality some other way?

I have had to do other things in life but recently I have been able to return to my project of getting a FFT for images using Visual Basic.I found that there are several things that can slow it down and as such I have found ways to greatly speed up the DFT without the further
step of using a Radix2 method. I will try to implement the Mod twiddle/twaddle later.But first I found that I can use just cos terms or just sin terms without having to use both.First I found that I can create all the analysing frequencies and their Cosines angles with the following code.The addition of (PI/4) allows the use of only the cosine terms( or only sine terms).The first part of the code test for the size of the rows of the picture and if not an even multiple of two it resizes the image so that the number of pixels is an even power of two. I dont care if the number of rows in the picture is or is not an even multiple of two at this point.
