I need to write a method in C# to save all rows in a given datatable back to the database, but I cannot depend on the rowstate of each row. I can't think of how best to do this without extensive looping through the database table data or constant database querying.
I want to essentially perform the following insert / update for each row in the datatable, but more efficiently:

I have a Main form, called Main.vb, that is a Parent Form. I have another form called Notes.vb. Inside Main.vb I have a toolstrip with a button on it called Notes. I'm wanting to change the checked status of the Button to either True when the Notes.vb window is open inside the parent or to false when it is close. Is this possible?
View 6 RepliesI'm kicking my self for not being able to resolve this.I have a few items in my context menu thats for my listbox that toggle enable/disable depending on eitheritem is selecteditem is checked.the top 3 items should be enabled only if a item is selected, which works,and the bottom 2 only if an item is checked in the list.(it is a chked list)But what i would really like is that if ONE checkbox is checked then the top three would be disabled. i did try adding a for loop to check for an item is checked but it only half the time worked. (i added the code also)

Not certain what exactly I am doing wrong here, but I am having problems in setting a new DataTable (for posting back to the database) to the Changes resulting from the Merge proc of 2 DataTables. The code works fine until I attempt to set the ChangesTable --- it always ends up = Nothing.What is strange is that the "preMergeCount" = 0 and the "postMergeCount" = 23, which is EXACTLY how I expect it to be! So I know that the Merge is working correctly.

i had problem in sub deleterow AcceptChanges() method not seems to work.i cannot update my database if i put AcceptChanges() method after the delete row..if i delete 1 row then hit the updatedatabase sub the record in my database is the same..seems like there is no delete happened..my server is mssql2000

I am trying to program a noise reduction algorithm that works with a set of datapoints in a VB.NET DataTable after being helped with my other question. Basically, I want to take two integers, a coordinate value (yCoord for example) and a threshold smoothing value (NoiseThresh), and take the average of the values in the range of (yCoord - NoiseThresh, yCoord + NoiseThresh) and store that number into an array. I'd repeat that process for each column (in this example) and end up with a one-dimensional array of average values. My questions are:
1) Did anything I just say make any sense ;), and
2) Can anyone help me with the code? I've got very little experience working with databases.

I have an application that users will save a list of clients to a database. The extension on the database is .sdk, and I think is some kind of sql database. The user can save rows and add rows to maintain a client list, but when I release an update, I have to install it without the database file. If I install with the database file, then their current client database is replaced with a new blank database.
my issue is that I need to add columns to tables in their existing database without overwriting their current rows. For example, i have columns for client name, address, and phone number currently. On my next update, I want the user to be able to save client birthdays. Here is what I have:

as you see in my code data come from remote database which update date getter then local database . Both table are same and "ID" is primary key. I code is working well. But problem is that when data more then 1000 updated record so this function take too long in loops.

Im trying to change the information on each row depending on the result from the query. Im thinking that at the minute my problem is that I'm only returning the first result from the query into the result.
e.g. query returns row 1 with '1232' row 2 '1243' but result is only ever set to '1232'

I have two text files. The first text file has the format:

And the second file:
ID h4 h5 h6

Now I want to merge two files. The output likes

The two files has the same rows and columns. For the first rows(except header) in the two files, they have the same first column. Therefore just a simple append. The final first row becomes
a 1 5 7 2 4 9
The question is in the first only has one
b
and the second file has two
I want the maximum count of items from each list in the resultant list. I put some white spaces after "b" then append strings.
b 4 1 5
For key "c", because it is only in the first file and not in the second file, so I append white spaces after the corresponding strings.
Is there a way of merging (importing or whatver is the correct terminology is) the data from an Array in to a DataTable woithout looping. I already know how to loop through the array to populate the DataTable with new DataRow but I'm looking for something much faster if it exists. I've got a 1 dimensional String array i.e. 'String()' that I need to populate a DataTable with new DataRows.
