Database - Find Average Of A Specific Number Of Rows/columns In Datatable And Store To Array?

I am trying to program a noise reduction algorithm that works with a set of datapoints in a VB.NET DataTable after being helped with my other question. Basically, I want to take two integers, a coordinate value (yCoord for example) and a threshold smoothing value (NoiseThresh), and take the average of the values in the range of (yCoord - NoiseThresh, yCoord + NoiseThresh) and store that number into an array. I'd repeat that process for each column (in this example) and end up with a one-dimensional array of average values. My questions are:
1) Did anything I just say make any sense ;), and
2) Can anyone help me with the code? I've got very little experience working with databases.

This doesn't seem like something that should be confusing or difficult, but I'm having a hard time finding the answer to this problem. I want to copy columns with their data, not rows, from one large DataTable to a smaller one.I have a DataTable with many columns of data (around 20), and a string array of the columns (4 ) that I want in the copied DataTable. Is there a reasonable way to accomplish this task?

Is it possible in to filter out certain columns from a datatable? If suppose a datatable dt1 has 3 columns and I want to have a new datatable dt2 with the values of only 1 column from dt1 then what is the best approach to do it? I know a rowfilter exists for dataview of a datatable but there is no column filter as such.

I was working on some code in VB.NET 2008 and somehow got a bunch of new functions to pop up in intellisense on a datarow array. I saw find, findfirst, sort, average, and lots more. They had an icon next to them in intellisense when I saw them. Then I went and changed some of the code and now I can't get them to come back. I have used 2005 and 2003 for a long time, but still pretty new to 2008.

i fill a datatable in a typed dataset.. it has cities and states but I want to pull just distinct states and bind it to a control etc.. there is the filter, but i havent found a way to do distinct or group by. got to be a way without adding more datatables and filling them with data thats already there right?

I have a table called tblComparison - this table has the following columns[code]...
Once the averages for each column are created it needs to save them to tblMonthlyComparison - again the column names in this table are the same so in the fldDate column the program needs to enter 31/12/2011. In fldAverage of this table what we do is take the average that we found above for each column then plus them together and divide them by 5.

I have text file that is saved as comma delimited. There are 3 columns with x number of rows. I cannot seem to figure out how to create an array that will store all three columns with the variable intProductArray as the length of the array. I have been opening the file with only one column and putting it into a textbox and using the lines of the textbox as the variable for length. I cannot figure out the array for all 3 columns.

The Problem: The 'data_row edited' variable doesn't get initialized when exiting the cell in edit mode using the keyboard (ie: pressing the down/up arrow).If I use the mouse it works as expected. Why is this ?

I have a word document with multiple tables. How can I specify in VB.NET to find a specific table and insert rows only into that one? I've successfully implemented the Find&Replace in the document... but the problem is that I have an unknown number of things that must be added into the table based on the data I'm querying from my database. So there is no simple solution as far as putting placeholders in the table and using the find and replace function.

I am converting DataTables to a generic list and need a quick and easy way to implement a Find function. It seems I am going to have to use a Predicate. Upon further investigation, I still can't seem to re-create the functionality. I have a Datatable consisting of columns with Latitude and longitude I want to be able to pass through each of those values in each row into an array that can then be passed through a function which gets the distance between each row and a static. In short I am trying to get distance between one location and various others that reside in a datatable that will vary in size. Right now with this existing code I am getting 6 different locations into an array:

If I am on the right track I think I need to create a new array that will accept Lat and Lon from each row in my Datatable? My end goal is to be able to find properties within a certain distance of a property. In other words "return all properties that are within .25 miles of 12 Maple Street". I thought if I had Lat and Lon of a certain property there would be a formula that would give me the max and min Lat and Lon to be within a .25 mile radius. I have searched for how to get a radius, but didnt come up with anything I could comprehend. So instead I thought I would just get each properties (row) return the distance in a new column then loop through the table to return properties within the desired distance .25 miles etc...

I need to build an interface that allows the user to select a horse from a list. The horses are as follows: horse1, horse2, horse3 and horse4. The application should display the way the horse places with a 1 means the horse won, 2 indicates second place , 3 indicates third and 0 indicates the horse did not place. I made a form with text boxes in a 6x6 square pattern. It will do a streamreader from a text file a number that indicates the size of the array. Then fill in the boxes with the numbers of the array. Then it will calculate the rows and columns to see if they add up to a single answer. Then it will display to an output window if it is a magic square or not. Meaning if all rows and columns add up to a single number its magic. If they dont add up to the same number then its not magic. Then it will repeat this check and output from the information of the other arrays from the text file.
I know how to code for the streamreader and get it to add the rows and columns. Im not sure about what code I need so it can check the answer if its magic or not and repeat it till the end.

I have a data table in a loop that adds rows on each loop. During the loop i collect an array of unknown size. At the end of the loop i want to add a new row to the datatable with eachelement of the array as a field.[code]I could hard code this if i knew how many item would be in the array but i dont.Is there any way i can loop through the array and append the value to a row?
