C# - SilverLight Datagrid Refresh?

I have a Silverlight Datagrid who's DataSource I refresh every 5 seconds.I would like when the grid refreshes, for the focus to be on the last row, not the first.I have tried setting the SelectedIndex property of the grid to be the last row, but it did not work.
The details:I am binding the DataGrid to an ObservalbleList(Of MyObject) property on it's ViewModel, and the SelectedIndex is also a property on the ViewModel. Both properties raise the property changed event (able to witness this working by seeing the DataGrids DataSource clearly changing, but the SelectedIndex is never set.I have read reports that setting the SelectedIndex on a DataGrid is a known issue, but have not found a work around.

I have a datagrid who's ItemsSource is a strongly typed IEnumerable object In this datagrid, I have a checkbox column, a price column, a part name column, and a 'total selling for' column. On checking the checkbox I need to update the total selling for column with the value in the price column. This part I have working, however, how can I get the checkbox to remain checked when this happens?

I have a datagrid on a silverlight 4 application that I am trying to export to excel by calling the COM component for Excel in silverlight. I'm having trouble with some Silverlight functionality. My goal is to get some data from the database and display it in my grid. Sounds simple, however, there are 7 columns that are always going to be there.
The rest of the columns depends on the account. There could be 2 (called Actions) associated with a certain account, compared to another account that could have 5, and the action names can be completely different.
I have successfully been able to return a list of all the possible actions for the given account, and then adding the columns to the grid in the code bihind(VB), and I can bind my data to the grid for all the columns that are already known. The way I store the item's actions, is a Property of type List. My problem is finding a way to iterate through the actions list of the Item object in order to bind those actions to the grid.

I have a SQL stored procedure that I bind to a Silverlight Datagrid. That works ok, the problem is when I use the same stored procedure to bind a different dataset to the same grid, it doesn't display the new data, only empty columns from the last dataset that was bound. What is going on here? I tried to set the grid = Nothing and I tried using Datagrid1.columns.clear() but that didn't work.

I have a datagrid view control that is tied to a dataset. so when the Dataset is updated with a new record,It shows up in the grid. The problem is, I have to minimise the window or some how force a re-paint on that window to see the updated grid.

I have an app that opens up 3 forms. 2 forms have a datagrid the other form has book lending details. The datagrid forms are for books in the library and books that have been borrowed.
Both datagrid forms will be open as shown in the attachment, how do I refresh the "Borrowed Books" datagrid form from inside the form that has the "Book in Library" datagrid.
So far I've been able to update the "Books in Library" datagrid because control comes back to that form after the details form closes but since the "Borrowed Books" form is still opened up, we would like to refresh the datagrid on that form.

I have a main form with player information (it's a sports application). To add or edit a player the user presses a button which opens another form. They either add or edit from this point. When they click 'OK', it saves the data to the database table then goes back to the main form. The amended or new info doesn't appear. If they close the application, then reopen, the new info appears in the datagrid now.
how I can get the datagrid to refresh once I press 'OK' on the input form?

i'm having with a problem to refresh my datagrid view. I have 2forms and a database create from msaccess2010. This programme is too simple, in form1 requesting a costumer name and save button. After being saved, it'll show form2 which is database in datagrid view. Yes, in first save the name of costumer are being shown there but after i close (which is 'hide' actually,i cant use 'close' due to particular reason) and reinsert the data in form 1 and save it,the second data are not being shown in form2. So my question is,how can i make the data refresh(by form load or button refresh,any of them)?

Let's say that I have a windows application in which I have a form with some controls that are bound to a dataset. A DataAdapter or TableAdapter fills the dataset on form load with a large number of records and user can navigate and change the details for each record. This works fine ... but this app runs on a network. And let's say meanwhile you've loaded your form and you're navigating through it (for half an hour let's say whithout saving changes or reloading the dataset) another user modifes the data and updates the database but as long as you have your application running you can't see those changes !!! what is the method to know whether the database has been updated or how to refresh the datagrid view with the new changes updated by other users while the application is running?

I have a big problem regarding MdiChild. My problem is that I have 3 forms loaded;
Form1=Mainform / mdiParent
Form2= Display the Datagrids
Form3= This is where I let the user input the necessary fields like Lastname, Firstname,Age,etc...
My problem goes like this, Form3 is the child of Form2, Form2 is the child of Form1 and I call them one by one like this:

I am adding records to a database from a modal popup. After hiding the modal popup, the page has not been refreshed (even though I have Re-bound the controls). I have reviewed a few postings on the web about this but the solution still evades me. I have attached my code after removing some of the extra detail.

I have a LOB app written in VB.NET with a WinForms front-end and SQL back-end. After many months weighing up how to get onto the Web, I decided last month to use Silverlight 2. Now, Silverlight 3 Beta is out, but there is no end-user runtime.
Does anyone know when the runtime will be available for deployment of SL 3 apps onto client sites?
My dev timeline is about 3 months: should I persist with SL 2 and then u/g to SL3, or jump straight in to SL3?

I call upon your combined intellects. I have a web application with a silverlight app that calls a ria service. The ria service is defined inside the web application and everything else is just dandy.
The issue is this.It is my understanding that in order for the silverlight application to talk and know what the ria service is, you need to add a service reference for that service. The service reference defines the ria service and sets up the connection binding. One of the files it adds is the ServiceReference.ClientConfig which has the connection binding in it. During the course of this application's development, this is the way it was set up. And it worked perfectly fine locally and on the dev server.
Unfortunately there were issues when deploying to the clients in-house server. At this point I was onto other projects while my co-worker continued with the deployment. He soon became frustrated with the goofy errors that were occurring and recruited some help. This dev came in and, albeit got it working, but in order to do so he removed the service reference from the silverlight project but left the ServiceReference.ClientConfig which pointed to the location of the service in the web application(but that's it, no definition or explanation as to what the service does and I'm not sure how the silverlight app is supposed to know how to work with it..). This works perfect on my co-workers workstation and he has deployed this version to the clients server fine.
When I open the project it doesn't run at all. And the reason why is that it doesn't know what the service is that i'm using in code. Specifically, it doesn't know where this is (names changed for clarification):

I have cleaned the solution, completely deleted and got the latest from source control, built the web app first and made sure the asp.net dev server was running so that the address in the ServiceReference.ClientConfig resolved correctly. But, alas, it still doesn't know what Imports SilverlightApp.ServiceReference.WebApp.Service is.
So, to get it working on my workstation, I added the ServiceReference back but kept the current connection bindings so that it matched the endpoint in the web app web config. and changed the import statement to Imports SilverlightApp.ServiceReference and everything works fine.

I currently have a silverlight application which has silverlight class library. The silverlight class library has a WCF service reference which works as expected for small data. However we have come across a problem which is caused by the default value of maxItemsInObjectGraph. We have tested it with an increased value (called from vb app set in behaviour) and it works however we are unsure how to set the value of maxItemsInObjectGraph when it is in a silverlight class library (as it is only defined in the clientconfig file and no services are added to the client). I have seen posts about adding it to the web.config but this only seems to apply when the service is called directly by the app not by a class library?
