C# - Create Web Services And Link It To Smart Device Application?

i have novice skills in programming in vb.net,I just finish my project and applications for Data logic memoir wherein the data has been save to text file or SQL compact server database in the Handheld Device and use Active Sync Connection to pass Data into H/PC to Desktop P.C and Vice Versa.I just shift now to C#.net and start learning it and i just successfully transpose my Smart Device Project from VB to C#.
But now i want to Start Projects linking The device to server using Web services

I have the following code: [code] and it's ment to change the backcolor of a label during runtime, which works.But when I use the same code and use it in a smart device - Windows Mobile 5.0 Pocket PC it don't work and comes up with the following error:'ColorTranslator' is not a member of 'Drawing'.Is there a way I can change the backcolor of the label during runtime when creating a smart device application (windows Mobile application) ? I want to be able to use a custom color rather then one already set in vb.net

I am attempting to create a new mobile app using VB in visual studio 2008. I select "File" "New Project". Select "Smart Device" in new project window. Select the "Smart Device Project" from templates. Select ".NET Framework 3.5". Select "OK" and get the dreaded "object reference not set to an instance of an object"

i created a smartdevice project,,(target platform =pocket pc;device=emulator; editor= vs2008). (i didnt write any code additional to template generated by vs2008 ) i tried to debug it with F11 hit(step into) ; vstudio asks me to locate a source file named 17d14f5c-a337-4978-8281-53493378c1071.vb. i dont know what this file is; same problem does not occur if i choose C# project.

I am developing an application to run on a PDA. The PDA is running on Windows CE 5.0 and has a barcode scanner integrated. I am using Framework 3.5 VB.Net 2008 smart device project to develop my application. Now, my question is about opening the barcode scanner to read scanned barcodes into my PDA application. I used system.io.ports to open COM1, 2, 3 and I can get them opened but obviously none of theses ports opens up the scanner.Any idea how to open/communicate with the PDA scanner?

I'm planning on using the Smart Device Framework 2.3 to use the signature control panel in a Windows Mobile 5 application using the compact framework 3.5.
The control has the option to save the signature as either a byte array of points, or as a bitmap. Now seeing as I want to store the signature in a sql compact database, I guess the byte array is going to be better. The trouble is, I'm not sure how to render that in a full WinForms application after I've transferred it back to the desktop.
I need to show the signature on a report, so it would need to be an image I could link/embed into the report.

I'm working on a application which suppose to work as a interface between multiple applications. as a example, one PBX system sends me data via TCPIP or COM ports and I manipulate it and send to PMS application. likewise PMS also send me data which I need to send back to PBX system.By query is, I don't have a fix number of communication interfaces and it can go up to 8 - 10 or may be more and they should work independently (should be able to switch off communication at any time in any interface).
In this situation, I cannot handle everything in one service or two since I don't know how many interfaces going to be. So I'm thinking a way to create services dynamically such as when user create a new interface in application it automatically creates the windows service on server or pc.I don't really need to create services remotely since my application will install only in one pc or a server and system administrator will access the server for the configurations.

We are trying to add SQL Reporting Services to a .Net 2.0 Web Application. SRS has been installed on the server successfully, but we get an error when we try to load a report or access the report manager:
Server Error in '/Reports' Application.Configuration Error Description: An error occurred during the processing of a configuration file required to service this request. Please review the specific error details below and modify your configuration file appropriately. Parser Error Message: Could not load file or assembly 'netGmrc' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.
The error is being coming from a line in the web.config where an httpHandler called Upload.axc is being added to the web application. The entire httpHandler section is listed below.

<remove verb="*" path="*.asmx"/>

When we remove the Upload.axd handler from Web.Config, everything in SRS works fine. What is the proper way to have Reporting Services work along side the web application with this httphandler?

Have a some knowledge in scripting. me in sample coding using VB 2008. - Create an application that will run on system start up and still run even if user's Log off. - The application will read a list file that contains other application names (e.g notepad.exe) then the application will continue running.. if notepad runs then it will log to a text file the time started the execution and after it was quit it also log the application ended time of execution. - Like its running as services.

I'm a relatively seasoned VB (COM) vet but this is my first VB.Net application and as is my luck a web services application feeding off a site that I can't publicly mention nor can I post any code that may expose the site.
So, here's the problem. I have written a simple form and have 2 buttons. 1 button simply asks the webservice for it's version. This works no problem. I was able to load the web reference using their supplied WSDL file for this "version" class. Now that I have that working I think "GREAT, that was straight forward. I have my credentials, urls, etc working, the rest of this should be just as straight forward." (See where I jinxed myself here?)
Anyway, I move onto the next WSDL and set of classes and get that reference added no problem. (Man that took a LONG time, like 20 minutes.) I then build my "Get my order data" code syntaxes on the prescribed exposed classes and run my project just to see what errors I get. The "run" process takes almost 45 minutes to an hour..... It's as if the app is getting the WSDL set all over again but doing it over and over..... I have no clue what's going on.
I've tried to disable all the Windows 7 "potential" issues, UAC, firewall, etc, but these changes don't help. Anti virus, spyware, etc all these are off and no difference. I'm running VS2008 as an Admin, right click "run as admin", and have complete control over this machine. Any ideas, suggestions, etc are VERY welcome and I am happy to expose as much of this application as I can providing I can stay with in the rules of the confidentiality contract.
