I need to be able to display 60 * x. X is going to be the time between hitting a Stat button and a Stop button in seconds. I need this to be shown until it is stopped. So i was thinking something like txtBox1.text = 60*time, but I do not know if that is correct and I do not know how to get that time. Also I am not sure how to continuously update the text box.
View 6 RepliesThe idea with this form is to add the futures which is calculated when the button is pushed but I need the list to update every time and show the values each time to which the previous value is added to the new calculation, e.g. of what it should look like in listbox:

I then want to double this - 3:45 * 2 = 7:30, and then want to multiply it by a cost e.g. travel is charged at 25 per hour. so it would be total travel time = 7:30. Travel cost = 25. Total Travel Cost = 7:30 * 25. In the access db, it is stored as a text field, and then imported in vb as a string.

View 1 RepliesI have a form with 2 TextBoxes that I want to be able to save to a text document like C:Data.txt. When I save to the text document I want it to continuously save. For example it when you open the text file it should look something like this:

Is it possible to do something like that? A separator is not necessary, would be nice to distinguish different saves.

I wud like to calculate the time difference between two values.I have two values which is the in time and out time of each employee.Subtracting in time from out time should yield the time the employee has stayed at the office If the in time is 09:00:00 and the out time is 18:00:00.The difference between the two would be 9 hours.

It figures hours worked based on a range of dates selected using two DateTimePickers.I have it successfully working at this point to figure hours worked per day in the range for it's current practical use. This is my first post on this forum, so please excuse me if I'm posting wrong. Anyway, I've been having an issue that I've never seen before and is driving me nut, I have a windows form on which I have placed many textboxes that display information from a MS SQL database. The user can then change these values and hit a "save" button which writes the changes to the database. I also have certain textboxes that with the "on leave" event (after a user enters a possible new value) trigger a method that recalculates some of the other fields based on the new information. Hopefully that all makes sense.
So the problem is, when I run through this "recalc" method the first time around, it doesn't update those textboxes that it's supposed to. However, when I put a breakpoint in and debug through it, the debugger shows it putting in the correct values into the textboxes. It's just as soon as the method is done, it puts them back to blank, or whatever they were before

the main problem here is i want to use 2 value from 2 line in one time to do that calculation... if those data in one line its not a problem..
I have a background process that require about 1 min to come to completion.
All the data are in memory and it does not need to read the harddisk.
I have noticed that the CPU utilisation during the full minute is less than 20%
is there a way to force the application to use more cpu to reduce the calculation time?
i have 2 list boxes.. Qty and Cost both of these are populated from a sql database. The code is suppose to read through the listboxes and multiple the Cost by the Qty and then replace the Cost with the new result. The Cost listbox is populated with the cost of one item. The reason i am not doing this calculation in the sql query is because the sql query is very complicated filter out a bunch of stuff to show just the qty of the item...

I am trying to mimic an encryption application. The application I am mimicking does a simple calculation where it takes the key and the plain text characters 7 bit ascii code and xor's them together. If the two spots in the code are = then it returns a 0 if it is ~ then it returns a 1. I have tried several code snippets for xor and none of them produce the results I want. I have only taken a couple programming classes so I get lost easy. This is what I have so far. My goal is to decrypt something encrypted by the program I am replicating using a password generator to come up with the key.I already have the binary for the encrypted text from the program I am copying. So I need to convert the key into the matching binary format. I used this snippet for that. [code] When I run this as is I get a much longer result than I should. If I use an "a" as my key and "00000000" as my cipher bi the result is "0011000000110000001100000011000000110000001100000011000000110000" when it should be "01100001".
