my app has mssql database ,i want to create service by which date will be checked in database whether the product is expired or not , if the date in database is date today then automticaly user will get notification email there whould not be any need to interaction of any human to server to check and send it manually i want to make this process totaly automatic and i dont have any idea about it, can sql send mails?

I am currently making a college project for which i need to send scheduled emails.I googled for it and found out the we can do it through outlook. Is there any way to automate that process through vb, so that it will check for the dates in the database and send an email whenever necessary?Outlook is not important for me... I just need to send scheduled emails.And i even need to send sms (single and bulk) according to the needs... is there any free API for that too???I have already tried the google sms feature but it didnt work for me

I want to check Day & month of date which is in database.There is date field is in database which is mm/dd/yyyy format If I use "select" query then whole Date is access but I want only these date's which having today's day & month.Example: if today's date is 02/02/2010 then select only those date whose day is 02 & month is February.(Dont consider Year)

Label11.Text = System.DateTime.Today
Label12.Text = TimeString
That mean the time will keep on running.. What i want is when i click the button, the current date and time will be recorded.

I have a DB table with the following columns
PolicyNumber
NextPremiumDate
PremiumNumber
Example For each PolicyNumber i have 5 NextPremiumDates.I want to display the 1st NextPremiumDate which is easy ...but i want to show the next NextPremiumDate only after the last NextPremiumDate has passed...How do i check if the last date has passed?I mean if i have 5 dates in the table given above...how do i check if the 1st date has passed then show 2nd date ...if 2nd has passed show 3rd and so on.

I am trying to get a checkbox to activate and deactivate a button. While the button is deactivated it is dimmed or faded out. While Actvated the Text and button is fully visable. I did use ctype to activate the button from the checkbox.

This is my problem.I have a field set up in MS Access to Boolean YES/NO, this field is populated when the user check a checkbox on a windows form. If the user check a checkbox, the value is written as checked in the data field (MS Access).The problem is when I search for the user information, I need the information from the Data base to populate(return) to the windows form. Example: If I enter a users phone number and the user data is present, the form gets populated with the information the user previously entered which was store in the database.Example: If the user selected checkbox1 and submits the form. I am using ASP.NET with SQL Server 2005.
My date get saved in the database with data type = "smalldatetime".
I am displaying the date value into a text box called txtDate with a Reader......

To be clear: I am not doing this with malicious intent. I am working on an e-mail integration component that utilizes both UIDs and a "Last processed" date to locate the first new e-mail to integrate. I want to test cases where multiple e-mails have the exact same date/time - as the e-mail integration module should handle those situations flawlessly. If I could simply fake the date this way, I could send as many e-mails as I wanted that matches a certain date/time, rather than trying to send them with an automated script - hoping they will all be received within the same second.

Converting from usind Micorsofts Syste.Data.OracleClient to what I believe is called Oracles ODT (Oracle.DataAccess 10.2.0.100). When I try and send a date I get this error "ORA-1858: a non-numeric character was found where a numeric was expected". This code worked great using System.Data.OracleClient.

I have 2 SQL tables (A & B) with dates in the format DD/MM/YYYY and time, for example 01/03/2012 00:00:00. In my VB.net application I am looking to count the number of records in table A which have a date less than the one in table B. I have no problem getting the dates from the database. I have extracted the date in table B and stored this in the program. how to compare the dates within the SQL query.
In short what I am trying to do is:

I have a txt file with a few settings that get loaded into the Program. These are put into an array. As the array holds different types (int, string, dates etc) its set to object type.
What i am trying to fingure out is how to check the date is a valid format, by returning a false value so i can have a msgbox pupup and say the date in the file is invalid. I cant use isdate() on the string from the file as even if the date format is correct its a string not a date type so i have to convert it first (which is the point it throws an error).
