Feb 15, 2010Create a Visual Basic project with a Form that displays a seating chart for a small theater. Assume that the theatre has 25 rows and each row has 10 seats. The following image shows the completed main Form for the solution.
Write statements in the Form Load event to instantiate an object from the splash screen form and then display it as a modal window. Write the statements so that when the main Form loads (after displaying the splash screen) it will dynamically create the 2-dimensional array of CheckBoxes on the Form. The CheckBoxes should be created inside a scrollable Panel control instance. Above the scrollable Panel control instance display the column numbers (1 to 10).

What I want to do is to check each checkbox, row by row to see if it is checked, and then to store this is a listofintegers (1 if its checked, and 0 if its not).So the output listofintegers should be something like "01011000010100010011".

The code reads ever column text perfectly but does not read the checkstate of the checkbox.Because the checkbox has no text to it.I was thinking of giving each checkbox a tag and on the click event change tag from True to False depending on checkstate. Is that a good idea or is there a faster way around this?

[Code] I don't have a problem with building the query, my problem is with clicking on the checkbox by clicking on the checkbox by mouse, I can only get Checked and Unchecked, I tried to use the right mouse button click, it did not fired (or I did not test deep enough) I know I can put a button to change the checkbox value to Indeterminate but that will be ugly. I used checkboxes to indicate when the user picked a particular line item to update and then flagged the checkbox as checked and disabled.Once all the checkboxes have been checked, the game is over and I want to show a dialog (msgbox) that will allow the user to start a new game or exit the app. To reset the form, I was changing all the checkstates back to unchecked (along with resetting other variables), but the checkchanged events are being triggered and I end up in a loop.Is there a way to change the checkstate without triggering the event?[code]....

Dynamic SQL To Dynamic LINQ In .NET With MS SQL Server 2008?

Now, I know that a query in .NET doesnt look like this, this is my test in the SQL Design Studio. Naturally VB.NET variables will be used in place of the SQL local variables.My problem is this: All of the conditions after "WHERE" are optional. In that a query might be made that uses one, some, all, or none of the conditions. V.PropertyID and V.Value can also appear any number of times.In VB.NET I can make this query easy enough by simply concatenating strings, and using a loop to append the "V.PropertyID/V.Value" conditions.I can also make a Stored Procedure in MS SQL, which is easy enough.However, I want to accomplish this using LINQ.
VS 2008 Dynamic Timer In A Dynamic Form
Feb 19, 2010Ive managed to dynamically create a form, and dynamically create a timer, but i have not been able to create the timer on the dynamic form. Specifically, i need to be able to have the timer itself create another form with a timer. (I realize that this would create a new form every interval on the timer, that is what i want to do)
1. A way to add the timer to the dynamic form, and maintain the timer sub on my main form.
2. A way to create the whole thing over (dynamic form and timer) through the previous dynamic form and timer.
I was thinking i could use a collection/array to store the forms and timers, but i'm still having trouble figuring out how to add entire forms or timers into a list. (A timer is not considered a control, so i cant use a controlcollection...)

Dynamic ContextMenuStrips On A Dynamic Form?
Oct 15, 2009I have a form that i need to be 100% Dynamic. So it could contain 10 labels maybe 100 who knows.
When you hover over a label there will be a different contextmenustrip to appear for each and every label. So all the contextmenustrips are Dynamic and contain 1 option maybe 2 options even 3 or 4 up to the users settings.
My problem is not creating a handler for when the user clicks on the contextmenustrips options. The problem is knowing which one of the options for that contextmenu was clicked!!
Dynamic ToolTip For Dynamic Text Box?
Jan 11, 2012OK, I'm trying to display tooltip text for a dynamic edit box. Well, at least I'm trying to.
On my form, I've got a tool tip control which I've conveniently named ToolTip. My edit box displays OK. But, what I want to do is when the user hovers their mouse over the text box, I want the tool tip to display some text.
I think there are two problems that I'm having. I'm not convinced that I'm properly addressing a dynamic text box name. Ideally, I would want to be able to refer to the text box (but using a dynamic variable that will contain the prefix of the name). To hardcode, I would want to be able to achieve (not in this example but in theory): ABCDEFGt_0300.Text = "hello"

Class With Dynamic Arrays Inside Another Class Which Also Has Dynamic Arrays?
Nov 15, 2011Below you will find a code sample that I have dummied up to try and demonstrate the issue I am having. However, this is just a dummied up piece of code. The actual program has noting to do with STUDENTS or TEACHERS. Basically, the problem I'm having is trying to have a CLASS within another CLASS each of which contain ARRAYS that need to be dynamic in size. The sample has a CLASS called STUDENTS that can have in theory many students, the number of which are unknown to the CLASS. I need to be able to add STUDENTS to the ARRAY programmatically.
The CLASSROOM Class should also be an Array since each TEACHER will have MANY Students. There will be only 1 Teacher for a given classroom but the SCHOOL will have MANY CLASSROOMS. Again, I need to programmatically add Teachers and Students without having predefined Array sizes. The code I have listed below will NOT work but it demonstrates what I am trying to achieve. I want to be able to reference the CLASS by using something like this ...
School(iTeacherIndex).Student(iStudentIndex) = "Rick Smith"
I feel like I should be able to use ARRAYLIST in both classes but haven't been able to get it to work. I've tried DIM'ing as ARRAY and can't get that to work either.If I can get ARRAYLIST to work then I shouldn't need to worry about expanding the array via UBOUND (if it's even possible).The REAL question is "How do I have a CLASS within a CLASS, each of which has ARRAYS that need to be dynamic in nature so they can be expanded as needed? The size of the array cannot be determined ahead of time".
REMEMBER . . . the actual program has nothing to do with Students and Teachers. This was just my way of demonstrating the issue using an analogy that I thought everyone could understand. The actual Class is much more involved.I have purposely hardcoded some values just to make the sample easier to work with. This is NOT how I normally program but is just here to hopefully make things a little more clear.

Dynamic ID Name In ASP.NET?
Feb 25, 2011I have about 20 asp:labels in my ASP page, all with ID="lbl#", where # ranges from 0 to 22. I want to dynamically change what they say. While I could write

for all 23 of them, I'd like to know if there is a way to loop through all of them and change their text.I thought of creating an array with all my labels, and then just do a For Each loop, but I also have to check if the element exists with IsNothing before I change its text, so I got stuck there.

Mar 19, 2010I have an asp.net page which a user types in a "search" box, the code behind functions/subs etc produce a list of users matching the search criteria. In front of all the users returned in the search results, I have codded a html checkbox. Under the list of results, there is an "email users" button...
so.. I want to be able to click a number of checkboxes beside the results and then click on "email users" button which should take me to another page with email functionality so an email can be sent to all the previously selected users My confusion is over getting the "selected" user list from the results into the email page.
Because the checkboxes are manually coded within the code-behind file (ie the code basically generates a bit of html and pushes it into a label "placeholder", so I dont get any control functionality to get the checkboxes using the vb code, or can I?

Dynamic ContextMenu VB6 To .NET?

If I look at it in design mode I can see evereything that I have on the main pop-up context menu. What I am trying to do is add to one of those choices programatically. Dynamic Downcasting In .net?
Feb 26, 2010When the classes are created, they all are put into a List(Of SuperClass).When I go through the list, i would like to downcast the SuperClass object to its baseObject, and put it into the correct list. (I have one list created for each of the sub types of SuperClass).

Dynamic Graph In .net?
Mar 1, 2012i am to generate a line graph in vb.net. The graph should be something dynamic. I have a program calculating total distance, therefore in my output window i have iteration number and its corresponding value.
I have to plot the graph as iteration number by iteration value.I have tried an offline graph where i saved the values of the iterations and then draw the graph with the values.
But this is not what i am actually suppose to do. The graph should be generated simultaneously as the processing is being done. I am finding this a bit tough to do.
