Jun 22, 2010how to clear items from a ListView but no advice on how to clear columns from a ListView. The first time that the form is activated, coding creates and loads four columns in a ListView. On subsequent activations I want to remove those ListView columns before proceeding, otherwise I get eight columns and then twelve columns etc. There has to be a simple way of putting the ListView back to its initial state.

Compare Items / Values Inside Of List
Jan 26, 2012I have a question about comparing values inside of a List. I have a single list of strings. Inside the list are multiple values. The values are arranged so they can be dumped into a spreadsheet.
Example:
Private ListOfStrings As New List(Of String)
ValueA(0), ValueB(1), ValueC(2) 'These three values are the same as the three values in the 4th "row" below
ValueD(3), ValueE(4), ValueF(5)
ValueG(6), ValueH(7), ValueI(8)
ValueA(9), ValueB(10), ValueC(11) 'These three values are the same as the three values in the 1st "row" above. Since this is a duplicate, I need to add a "count" of value 2 and then delete the values of this row from the List. Etc...
Each line above represents a "row" in a spreadsheet. All three values in each "row" have the potential to be the same. So, I need a way to A) Compare and count all of the common "rows" (using only the first value from each row) and B) If common "rows" occur, I need to delete all but one row from the List. ListOfStrings.Remove ?

Jquery - Libraries - Classification Of Items That Are Listed Inside A Table
Mar 12, 2012In .NET development and don't really know what to use to do some specific actions. I'm also a newbie in AJAX/JavaScript development. I'm using the mvc3.
I'll have to implement a few things :
-rating systems with 5 stars
-classification of items that are listed inside a table. (e.g. : I want all the people that are older than 20)
-searching inside the whole database (e.g. : I want everything that contains the word "tennis", so, it should give me a table with all the people tha play tennis, than a table with the clubs were people play tennis,...).
-a kind of intellisense (e.g. I add a new person inside the database, and for the field "club", I just want to write the first lettes of the club, and then, I would just have to click on the club to fullfil the field).
I've found plenty of websites that give me a library with some of the things that I need. But, I don't know which one I should choose.
I do need something that is as simple as possible, with examples for razor (I'm using VB.net, but it doesn't matter if it's in c#). If possible, having nothing to install could be great (I know that the Jquery scripts that are installed by default are already great).
Listbox Items - Downloading Images Inside Created Folders
May 4, 2010I want to make an application that's pretty much all server side. I have everything sorted, apart from downloading images from my server. I have a listbox containing all the game names, in this format.
pacman
rallyx
mspacman
asteroids
There are many more, that's just an example.
Each game name is stored as a folder on my server. Inside those folders is the games boxart, called boxart.png. What I want to do is make an application that makes those folders and downloads the images. I have made the "create a folder for each game name" code already, now I just need to add another line or two to download the image inside those created folders.

May 27, 2012I have a program that will compare an array of grocery list items glist and an array of coupon item clist.When I compare the two and if there is a match somewhere in the array I want to have a picturebox visible.When there is no match, I want the picture box not to be visible. [code] The code seems to work great until I come to the else statement.When the code finds a match it displays the picture box and the msgbox without error, but as soon as the message box is cleared, even though i've input it as an ELSE statement, the picturebox goes false again.Does anyone have any idea of how I can "hold" the picturebox to stay visible while the match between the arrays exists?
