3D Programming Within The Microsoft Windows .NET Environment?
Apr 2, 2011I want to learn 3D programming within the Microsoft Windows .NET environment. My best .NET language is VB.NET.My aim is to be able to create 3D images only. I do not want to create 3D videos or 3D games.Any suggestion of books or online resources that are suitable for VB.NET users like me?

I know nothing about 3D programming and only have limited experiences in 2D graphics programming under .NET I can work in all versions of VB.NET and Visual Studio (2003-2010)

Apr 18, 2012I'm working on a web portal for customers that will connect to Microsoft Dynamics. I don't want to make Dynamics CRM directly a internet facing deployment (IFD), so I'd like to use a separate database that the web interface interacts with and then use web services to move the data between the web portal database and Dynamics CRM. I'm just looking for thoughts on whether this is the best way to proceed and whether there are any good code examples, etc. that I can look at for implementing this? I saw Microsoft has a Customer Portal but it looks like it requires (at a cursory glance) an IFD deployment - which I don't want.

VS 2010 Database ADO Programming Required?
Jun 24, 2010I am writing a program which includes access to a Microsoft Accsess database. It is running fine on my work computer (windows xp) but when I transfer it to my laptop (windows 7) to work from home it stops running on the "open" statement. I have stripped out all other code so that I just have a program with this in:

Again this will run fine on my desk computer but will not get past the open statement on my laptop.Interestingly, if I start a brand new project on my laptop and paste this code into it - it runs correctly.

I'm stuck at the beginning.In first form i have 2 Textboxes and 1 Button (1username, 1password, button - sign in) and then another 2 Textboxes and 1Button (1username, 1password, button - register) I want to make something like this for beginning: When you register the infos from textboxes (username & password) are saved in some file (let's say in info.txt or info.ini). I actually want to know how to automatically save these usernames and passwords in text file when you click register button, so when you want to login, you have to use registered username&password. So if there in text file is not the username you registered or typed in textbox you can't login.

I'd like well documented code for opening Excel, creating/opening a Workbook, reading and writing data and closing Excel Workbook when I exit the VB2010 form.
I am developing a VB2010 application form which I'd like to work dynamically with an existing MS 2003 Excel spreadsheet that will be provided with the application . The VB2010 form provides some data input for cells in a worksheet (named "Fuels") in an existing Excel Workbook called "carbonfootprinter.xls". Based on the input data, calculations are performed and the corresponding results are output to other cells in the same "Fuels" worksheet. The results are then also graphed in the Excel Workbook. When the application form loads, I'd like VB2010 code that checks if the "carbonfootprinter.xls" exists and is open, if not then it should be opened to receive data input from the VB2010 form and to perform calculations,and finally the VB 2010 application should close the Excel spreadsheet

It always shows it's Splash Screen and then shows a error message that says Cannot Create Window and it never continued. But, when I changed the mbd to accdb:

I've been making applications that can play only in my PC because it requires .NET Framework 4, which is not installed at even Windows 7 nor Windows Vista nor Xp. So, I decided to use Visual Studio 2008 which uses .NET Framework 3.5 SPI. It still doesn't run in common PCs. I believe it is pointless building applications that can perform only on programers' PCs. Is there any way to avoid using 4 or including it for the installation. Aug 7, 2009I am building a VB 2008 Express Edition application.I have built a database (with a single table) using SQL Server Compact 3.5 and have connected it to the project. I am able to view and edit the data using a DataGridView on a second form (tutorial made this very easy). I need to work with the data in the table within the application. how to easily load the entire table into an array or even read the table a row or cell at a time so that I can make all of the data available for manipulation within the application (the tutorials only seem to show how to display the data).
