Connect To Oracle 10g Server From Client Machines?

I have installed Oracle 10g in one of my office's computer. I want to keep this as database server. I am developing a .net project which will communicate with the database server from client machine and from the server machine. I success to communicate with oracle from server machine but not from client machine using the .net project. The connection code is as follows:

i Use "Imports System.Data.OracleClient .. Private conn As New OracleConnection()" to connect to my Oracle database..but when i put my program to another PC I need install Oracle Client on it...is there some other way how to connect to Oracle DB without installing oracle client to client PC?? (Database is on Server an program is on client´s PCs)

I have a vb.net 2.0 winforms project that is full of all kinds of business reports (generated with Excel interop calls) that can be run "on-demand". Some of these reports filter through lots of data and take a long time to run - especially on our older machines around the office.I'd like to have a system where a report request can be made from the client machines, some listener sees it, locates a server with low-load, runs the report on that server, and emails the result to the user that requested it

I have Visual Studio 2008 running from Windows XP. Our server is Windows 2003 Server.
On a different server, there is an Oracle database we want to connect to.
I've made the connection work from my local VS instance using system.data.OracleClient with the following code:

I am trying to open a socket server, I have the code below but my problem is that when I try to connect as a client to the server using the command line (telnet ip port), i only get to type 1 letter and that's it, i can't do anything else, how can I make it so that the client can send anything until they hit or type EXIT?

i made a program that uses sockets to connect the server to client but there is a problem with it when i try it on this ip"127.0.0.1"wich is not a real ip just a loopback to my computer it works just fine when i use my local ip it works as well when i use my main ip from http:whatsmyip.org it doesnt work at all i dont know why it doesnt say an error or an exception but its not connecting so i gave the server to a friend of mine i tried using both his real ip and his local but still not working i dont know why?i mean i am 100% sure of my code...

I wrote a program in VB2005. It is a program that is supposed to run in a client computer accessing an MS Access .mdb file stored in the server. The program itself is stored and run in the clients computer. I am not good in networking at all. The way I do it now is:
1. Have a directory made in the server to hold the MS Access .mdb file, and have the directory to be shared.
2. Have the same directory accessed and mapped in the client computer (say to Z:)
3. Then have the program in the client computer simply access the database as if it is in the same computer (as the directory already mapped into the client computer). In the VB 2005, this is done when we set the connection string of the database connection.
However, my user is complaining that by doing so, the database is basically exposed to the operator of the client computer (through the mapped directory), hence more vunerable for any bad intentions from persons who may have access to the client computer but not the server. He insists that he used to have a program that does exactly the same thing like my program, but the database is shielded in the server, where it cannot be seen in the client computer (I have other people who confirm that this can be done, though they can't tell me how, since they are not programmers themselves). Now, I have no idea on how to connect a database that way, and I don't even know where to start looking.

abase.mp4 file is kept in directory where exe is there. Every thing runs fine on dev m/c but on client machine application is not lauached.When Interop.WMPLib.dll and Interop.WMPLib.dll are copied to the exe file directory then application is lauched at least but file is not played automatically and even on pressing play button its not played.Is some dll registration required to make it work? or some references needed in project?or some changes on user machine?

Weirdly enough, this happens on some machines, but works fine on others! (actually, it works fine on the majority of machines)

how to create a client/server... But I couldn't... I don't want anything fancy. Just want the client to send the server 4 numbers, depending on the user's choice; after that, the server would turn off the pc, restart it, etc. It all depends on the number received. This is a VB .NET 4.0 WinForms application. There is a mysql data-source involved with this project. The target CPU is set to any. Problem: When running this application on any computer that has VS 2010 installed along with the mysql connector it runs flawlessly. When installing on a virgin system(ie. No developer environment installed) but that machine does have .net framework 4.0 installed and a mysql server without the connector installed the application falls immediately. So to fix the issue I install the mysql connector MSI.
This immediately fixes the issue on the client system and it runs. The problems is that as you can see below from my Installer setup that the 2 needed DLL files for MYSQL are actually included in the installation package so should not need to be installed separately. So Why is it that using that installer from the images do I need to install the mysql connector? Any Ideas?
Below is a screen shot of the References the program uses and from what I believe I do not need to deploy any of those DLL files with my application other than the 2 MYSQL DLL files. So why is this failing? Below are images showing the project references as well as the Installer Files that are being installed in the application folder. As shown in the image the 2 mysql dll files are to be put in the application folder. There is also a screen shot showing each dll's properties for in application folder.
