Is it possible to control the output font that is pasted from the clipboard?
The text copied into the clipboard is from a string variable and does not have any font information tied to it.
I have a picture box and if I use Clipboard.SetImage(PictureBox.image) Then I can only paste the image into things like Paint and MS word. I can't paste it as a file into a folder/desktop.So how can I copy the image to to the clipboard and if gets pasted to a folder then it becomes a file?

I have 2 listbox controls FontNameList containing all of the installed fonts on my PC and FontSizeList containing some numbers to be used as fontsize and I use the execommand and build my App but the font did not change instead it grew bigger but when I tryed to change it back it stayed the same. The Code for that was:

I am still messing around with Cntrl/Copy and Paste from a menustrip. Paste is working fine. The copy is working to a certain extent. It will copy the complete text field from one control to another. how do I determine what is the selected text only. My code below:

I am unable to read a pasted datagridviewrow object from the clipboard. All I want to do is, when a user has the entire row selected and copied, I would paste that row into the clipboard as a DataObject. That works just fine but when I attempt to read that DataObject (after the user clicks Paste) the DataGridViewRow that's saved in the clipboard always has a value of Nothing. View 3 RepliesI want to include the clipboard from the menu strip of my MDI form, ie Cntrl/C and Cntrl/V. I need a more generic clipboard facility than the examples provided. I want to be able to copy from external programs, like Word, or controls within my program to either a Textbox, RichTextBox or whatever, of which there may be several, on a child form. In VB6 this was so simple, but I'm afraid it is proving frustrating, to say the least, in Visual Studio 2008. I have succeeded in getting data onto the clipboard from an external program, but my problem comes when trying to determine the active control on the child form to where I want to paste the data, so I know how to handle it.

is there any control that allows the font to be automatically scaled? example, i want to make the text 80% of the width and height of the control, and it must be centered.
currently im using textrenderer.measurestring repeatedly to determine the largest possible size i could have that would be within 80% of the width and height of the control, and the onpaint handlers graphics.drawstring to keep the text vertically and horizontally centered.
I am using old good RichEdit control with last version of VB.NET. I want to set font attributes for text which will be typed from now and then. So, RichEdit.Font and RichEdit.SelectedFont are not an options. What should be the correct approach?
View 1 RepliesI need to display a table in rich text within a form window. It is only a two column table, so tabbing works fine to line everything up (since RichTextBox does not support RTF tables). However, sometimes the tab stops are incorrect because of non-fixed width fonts.
So, I need a way to measure the pixel width of a particular string with a particular font (Arial 10) and space or tab pad to make sure that everything aligns.
I know about the Graphics.MeaureString method, but since this is in a rich text box, I don't have an initilzed PaintEventArgs variable, and that would seem like overkill to create JUST to measure one string.

So is the best bet just to create a dummy PaintEventArgs instance? If so, what is the best way to do that (since I'll have to call this string measuring method several hundred times)?
Why does a Panel control have a Font property? What does it affect? Any controls added to the panel will have their own Font property that controls their appearance, so I don't see the point of the panel control having a Font property, especially since it has no text property.

Detect if my printer is busy, because my code tells the printer to print more pages than it can cope with, so I need to delay the command for 'Print the next page' until the printer has finished printing the previous one.
2. Shift the output to my printer so that it gets printed in it's entirety on the paper, in stead of seemingly being anchored to some nebulous point on the A4 page. It starts printing at X = 29mm from the left edge, and Y is 28mm from the top, and stops at X = 22mm from the right edge and Y stops at 22mm from the bottom edge, leaving (aprox) 50mm of X and 50mm of Y unprinted.
3. Get useful information on Bounds, which I'm fairly certain is what I need to control where my printing should start and finish.I've hunted through this forum, MSDN, 'Help' (a misnomer if ever there was one) the VB Library and searched through one or two other forums, which either baffle me with reams of pretty much irrelevant code or suggest code to try which either just don't work or which don't declare all the variables and usually don't suggest what type of variable I need, it's all very frustrating.

By "labels" I mean the text that is overlaid on every column in a StackedColumn chart.

When you add a label from the the toolbox, the default font is always Microsoft Sans Serif, Regular, 8. I like to use Ariel as my font of choice. Is there a way to change the default font setting so I don't have to pick the font I want every time? I've looked under Tools->Options->Environment->Fonts and Colors and I can't find it there.
