View 1 RepliesI have a very specifically designed table in a .aspx page. I have an <asp:SqlDataSource> tag that works fine with a DetailsView. I have tried DetailsView, ListView, Gridview etc. and cannot obtain the desired design. Is it possible to execute a Stored Procedure and have the individual results displayed in the individual cells of a web page table? This seems like it should be simple but it apparently is not.

View 3 RepliesI'm trying to present results on an aspx web page where a store procedure parameter is defined by a dropdown list control on the page. I have followed this guide from Microsoft and have my resultset presented in a DataGrid view. But I cannot seem to adapt it to present the resultset in a chart.
As you can see from my VB code below, I thought it would simply be a case of adapting the GridView databind to a Chart. I have tried various other options, and have successfully generated my data in a chart using a hard-coded parameter in an SQL statement on the ASP page. But when it comes to using the control, I get an empty chart.

I need to grab some data from a webpage but for me the main problem is I can't grab the data the way I want. I want to grab the data in a listview control but my code is fetching all data within any span tag (span class "inputFieldLabel" which is not required) in a single column of a listview control. I am giving the format (source) of the webpage below and my coding in vb.net (2008),

I am trying to do is select a value from a dropdownlist (ddlname), hit submit (Where the problem lies) and place the results in the redirected page that carries the value in a querystring. I am under the impression that if you want to pass more then one value you use the concatenation symbol "&", correct? If not what is it? (Using '+' doesn't work neither, just thought I would try it for the same of ruling that issue out

I need to write a server side application mostly a console host app that makes some queries to the SQL Server database and gets a list of lets say students and their grades.There is a third party website that gets updated at the moment some peoples working and filling that data manually.
I need to write a program that will basically open that webpage, login if required, navigate to certain page, click on certain tab, fill the data and hit the submit button. I don't think this part is that hard but the trouble comes with a client side dialog box. At the moment there is a client side dialogbox that shows up when you hit the submit button confirming the action and I need to press OK on that automatically.
I am allowed to write a windows application if not a console application and also use the web browser control to load the webpage rather than opening and interacting with the browser. If this makes it easier than so be it.

I am converting an old script from ASP to ASP.NET and would like some advice. The original ASP script used Response.Write to output information about what happened during execution. I have rewritten the entire thing in ASP.NET but it is new to me as an old-school C programmer. The job requirements include using the VB flavor of ASP.NET, btw.
I originally put up a TextBox and edited the text property to dump my final report. Now they want different colors for different message importance and I find that the TextBox can only do one color for all lines. I fell back to the old standby R.W but I get a message that it's not declared and from looking around I see that it's an issue because I'm calling it from the code behind and that is 'out of scope' from the HTML elements of the page itself.
My question is what is the best way to output information to the web page with different lines being different colors from a page's code-behind?

View 2 RepliesSo i am converting a metafile (EMF to be exact) to a jpeg or gif (doesn't matter as long as it's compatible with browsers) and when I do the conversion, all of the transparent pixels turn black. I have no idea how to do this in GDI+ but here is the method I am using to save the file:

I've created a program that requires students to answer addition questions.I have the code so that it calculates if the answer is correct, along with outputing the correct answer into a textbox.If the answer is correct the textbox background colour changes to green.If the answer is inocrrect the textbox background colour changes to red.I've done this using an array, and I want to use this array to calculate how many questions the students have answered correctly, and output them onto another page.I'm not sure is something like this would work:I was thinking about giving the textbox that outputs the grade score a value of 10. I have a form that I put on the Web User Control, but "Submit" button is on the parent page.
The form contains user information. That same form displays for admins to edit a user and for the user to register and update profile.
I wanted to have the form in only 1 place to display in those 3 places.
The admin page will have a little more information on it, along with the "user info" control.

Basically, I have created a search facility which is housed inside the navigation control on every page. My predecessor set every single page up enclosed in a form for postbacks.
I need these postbacks to continue working however I need the search when submitted to post to go to a separate page and post the data. I tried various methods such as "postbackURL" on the ImageButton but it didn't do anything.
