This May sound strange but I have about 10 Visual Basic book, including two references that don't explain this property. It is mentioned but there are not examples as to how to use it.
I just came across this property MaskCompleted but I am not sure how to apply it so that MaskedTextBoxes are not left empty or a message is generated.
When Window form loads, we are displaying the date (in MM/dd/yyyy format) in the MaskedTextBox control. Currently it is displaying date in MM/dd/yyyy format and displaying cursor at the end of the text. Our requirement is to display the cursor at left position of the text in MaskedTextBox.

The problem is that, when you delete MM value from the MaskedTextBox, it is shifting remaining dd/yyyy values to left in the place of deleted MM.So we would like to know how to stop shifting of dd/yyyy to left when some data is deleted from the control.

It binds to an in-memory Datatable which gets loaded from an string array of data passed back from the backend Some of the rows returned have nulls for the date columns. Solution 1: If I define the Date column in the DataTable as "string" I can easily convert those nulls to empty strings and display it in the grid as empty strings (desired results). However, if the user clicks on the date column header to sort by date, it doesn't order the rows as you want. You get a purely string sort order. Not acceptable

I am working on a mortgage payment calculator that has three user input textboxes (amount, interest, term). The interest input is a MaskedTextBox masked to (00.0). The issue I have is that if the MaskedTextBox is has no user input when the calculate button is selected then I get the error "FormatException was not handled" "Input string was not in the correct format", I highlighted the section in the code below. I'm quite positive the error stems from the MasketTextBox mask of 00.0, the decimal I believe causes the issue when no other data is entered.

For two days I have been looking for a way to enable button when MaskedTextBox is completed but no luck.The button does get enabled but not until you type(hit) a key after all characters(numbers) have been entered.To work around this, I adding two different events for the MaskedTextBox like the example below.

im calculating fare amount from 2 masktextbox mtxA and mtxB, i use the format 0000.00 ,, i was able to convert all prompt char values from mtxA and turned them into really zero but however it doesnt do the same on mtxb, though ive used similar code.. so my flow should be: whatever i values i put on mtxA.. on its textchange,its current value should be also put to mtxB plus an additional of 200.00
as an example : if i put on mtxA = 0030.00
mtxB = 0230.00 should be the display
but what is shows on me is mtxB = 2300.00 and also if i save it on the database .00 is not added,.....im tired fixing this so i try to use textbox instead of maskdtextbox, what i did is put lots of conditions and function on keypress to have the same format 0000.00 but i failed because everything on my code mess up whenever the user tried to edit the text according to textbox current position..check textbox.text current length from 0 to before the cursor location...but i dont know what code i should use to get the length..

The problem is, in order for the submit button to activate, you have to atleast type in 1 letter for it to update and make it send. I'd like to always register any change in a checkbox, without the use of a submit button (the user could forget to do it, and it would waste time). So, is there a way to handle this inside the view? I try to compile a project with msbuild.exe I have this error :
vbc : error BC30136: Error creating Win32 resources: Error reading icon '"Recycle Bin Empty.ico"' -- The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect.
This icon is the Application icon which is in the same directory of the project.vbc is started with /win32icon:"Recycle Bin Empty.ico" parameter.Don't know why MSBuild can't reach the file.

I'm using the following to populate a listbox from a sql server:[code]Is Available returns true (It's a bit in sql) or false - Is it possible to replace this with something shorter, say a checkbox or tick image?Also, is it possible to only display actual data rather than the whole field including empty characters? View 4 RepliesI am reading a txt file and displaying the contents into a listbox but it generates an empty listbox item at the bottom of the listbox. I am splitting the textfile each time it finds a new line in the txt file;

The problem there is always a blank line in the txt file at the end and so generates a blank list item. How can I remove this blank list item from the listbox? Is it best to try to remove the blank line from the txt file first or the empty list item from the listbox after the file has been read?

I have a couple of modal popups on my page that hold checkboxes. The checkboxes are different items that can be added to a specific product. Some products, however, have all of one type of item assigned to them. I need a way to show a message in the modal when the modal is empty.
I have tried using a Label inside the modal that says "All features are currently associated with this product." But the label leaves a space in the modal when it's visibility is set to hidden and that was annoying so I ditched that idea.
What is a good way to have a hidden message that shows up when the modal is empty?

I got a panel that i am adding labels to. I have autoscroll enabled on it so when they fill the viewable space it scrolls. but i need to put the labels to the left unviewable space(when left scroll is already at 0) The label is placed but i dont get the scroll bars and i cant force it to scroll to a - value.
Is this even possible? Same thing with UP.
Or is the Scroll only limited to Bottom and Right?
