1) How do I force a form to open in a certain position on the monitor? ie. by default it starts in the top left corner of the screen. I want it to open in the bottom right corner. Also, is there a way to do this as a % rather than in pixels? As I want it to be in the correct position regardless of the resolution being used.
2) Can you remove the "x" close button on the top right hand corner of a form? If you can't, is there a way to disable it?

View 2 RepliesI found some great code on capturing webcam images but the problem is the client PC will need to initiate the communication to this server (click Connect to server IP). This is like 2 way communication.How can i do something like this (door Kiosk system):when a visitor press a button on the LCD that come along a web cam (this will be the server), it will send the signal the client PC that is installed with the application i've created (window form) and pop up the images to the client PC (more like a 1 way communication). This image is captured through the web cam on the server to capture the visotor's image waiting outside of the door. How to do this?I'm really stuck as i'm not familiar with window API programming yet.

Is there some sort of the method (built-in functionality, macro, etc.) that I could use to swap each side of the expression such that the data is saved into the active record as opposed to read from it in order to perform a database insert? For example, after highlighting the above code and running the macro, it would become:[Code]
Since the number of columns in the database that this active record encapsulates is rather large, it seems like most of this typing could be avoided with a simple automated process. Obviously this wouldn't work 100% because sometimes there would have to be type conversions (e.g. int to string) but for the most part I think this would save a lot of time.

you know how you can set the windows taskbar to appear and disappear when the position of the mouse is all the way at the bottom? i want to do the same thing with my form when the mouse is in the top left corner of screen.or perhaps you can suggest to me a different way to do this. the user will probably just need to set those trackbars just several times during their usage.

I wanted this to happen on a specific place, not the form itself (In this case, a picture).The left click context menu works fine, but when I try a right click context menu, the left click context menu will pop-up as soon as I release the right click button.[code]By using this code, I have a small nuisance of the right click event, where when released, it also uses the left click event. Any ideas of how to, well, stop it opening the left click menu when I release the right click button?Alternatively, I was thinking of using a mouse hover event to replace the right click event, but I'm not that advanced of a programmer.

It already has some docking ability, hiding ability, resizing and moving but there are some problems it wont dock top and bottom without getting confused with left and right. When 1 panel docks another panel will dock on the side of it not the parent container. It needs some kind of splitter container to be able to dock into if you have 2 panels or more docked on the same side but still being able to drag out of it and move somewhere else. Usually I work with programming backend robust applications, but of course when I do a simple website for a friend is when I cant figure out the problem. I'm using a VB master page for the site. The "wood" div is supposed to be a background image that repeats dynamically as far down as the page goes, but for some reason it only goes as far as the browser window height. The background-repeat:repeat-y doesnt seem to do anything, so I feel like the problem has to do with the CSS. Here's the master page:

is a PDF file, when i navigate to it in my web browser control i get a script error at line 0 and line 1.
IE automatically loads the PDF with Adobe inside the browser, is there any way i could do the same?

View 2 RepliesWe are working on a poker game as a class project. My part is to evaluate and then determine the value of a players hand. We are evaluating from highest to lowest (ie. determining whether the player has a straight flush, 4 of a kind, full house, flush and then going all the way down to a high card only "worthless hand"). My part is evaluating the 2 pair, 1 pair, and nothing hands. The hand will be a two-dimensional array with the row(0 thru 12),column (0) containing the numeric "face" value of the cards and the column(1) containing the value assigned to the suite (1=clubs, 2=diamonds,3=hearts,4=spades). I have NO IDEA where to even begin this evaluating procedure.
