May 22, 2012I have a P/L chart which has a left scale (Y axis) which starts from a negative value. I want to format the axis labels (the major tick mark labels) so that the negative ones are red.
Something like;

Of course that doesn't work since MajorTickMark doesn't have a value property. How does one make this work?

Chart X Axis Labels - Label Display Is Inconsistent - VS 2010
Aug 2, 2011I'm seeing a strange problem with the labels on the X axis of my charts. I've setup two chart areas and aligned them (which displays fine) and the user can manipulate the chart by selecting different date resolutions (Year, Month, Day, Week, Hour) and different time periods.
The issue I'm seeing is that if a user selects say Months as the date resolution the X axis label display is inconsistent. If a fairly broad range for the dates is selected the X axis displays absolutely fine but as the date range narrows the X axis starts to duplicate labels ( please see the attached images). The second Image had a date range of 1st of May to 1st of August and as you can see the labels are duplicated. This is my first go with the chart control so I could be missing something basic. [Code]
Displaying Text In The Y-axis?
Dec 20, 2009I would like to display the word " Volts(V) " in the Y axis, just like the one you see from the attached image. But that image is crop from elsewhere and placed into a picturebox, which to me, doesnt look nice. I would prefer if the words are type in manually into a label and then rotate.

Apr 15, 2009I'm having some problems with a program I'm making in vb.net. I have two forms: one containing a datagrid with basic details of orders (date received, total value of the order, customer who placed it, date it was sent out). The second form contains a datagrid with more details (the stock code and quantity of each product purchased) on each indivual order. The second form also has a label containing the total value of the order. All this information is stored in a database.
By clicking on a row in the datagrid in form 1, I capture the OrderID of this row and use that to look up the information form 2 requires in my database. I only want to show the details of the order that was clicked. I'm having no problems filling the datagrid with the information I want but I'm unsure of how to get the label working.
I figure I might need to do something invloving a datatable, like this:

Label1.Text = "'row'"
Where Total is the column I want it to display and Label1 where I want it; _passedText the variable containing the OrderID of the record that the user clicked on form 1.
Textboxes/Labels Not Displaying Correctly?
May 17, 2012My textboxes and labels are fine in design view, but when I switch over to Debug or Build, a couple of the textboxes are pushed together and the labels aren't in their original spots.Haven't seen this before and was wondering if anyone has any suggestions as to why and how to fix?

Feb 25, 2009I've nearly finished my latest project (VB 2008 Express Edition) I built the project and ran the .exe from inRelease and it appears and works exactly as it did in Visual Basic
When I carry this .exe to any other computer, it displays differently. The biggest difference is the font size in labels (grows on other machines) and the size of the tabcontrol is a bit larger on other machines. see the links below for comparison (coding machine vs other machine) [URL]
note that both machines were set at the same screen resolution, both were using the default Windows XP "Theme" and display fonts appear to be set the same on both machines. I've tried this on about 3 other XP machines with the same result (only looks correct on the machine I coded on)
I've specifically used Microsoft Sans Serif font, size 8 (VB seems to display this as 8.25pt in the properties window) I have also tried making all labels "UseCompatibleTextRendering" both true and false with the same result. Perhaps something on the original (programming) machine is different that is throwing this off? Am I missing a step when building this project? If other encounter this problem often, what steps do you take (when programming) to avoid this and allow the form(s) to display correct regardless of the user's settings?
Edit: One difference can be found in (Right Click on Desktop -> Properties -> Settings Tab -> Advanced Button) the DPI Setting on the coding machine is Normal Size (96 DPI) The DPI on the other computers is Large Size (120 DPI)
The application will be used by roughly 100 folks on various systems (some Windows ME, most XP). How can I prevent things from going crazy with different user settings?

MySQL Query - Updating Account Information Displaying In Labels

Sep 16, 2009I am having some major problems with the code in VBA and recording a macro didn't get me anywhere nor is the VBA help file. I have to have it so that I can input a values for the x axis rotation and the y axis rotation so that my 3d surface graph will rotate whatever values I input, the 3d surface graph will rotate those degrees. I also have to have a method for having the default rotation. I was also wondering how to put scroll bars for the x and y rotation. The only other thing I am having trouble with is having an input to check box for right angle axes. So far I have two cells for entering the x rotation value and the y rotation value. I also already have my 3d surface graph.

Jan 8, 2009I have the smallest dataset in the world that simply consists of a month (text) and and amount. I want to produce a chart showing the month along the y-axis and the value up the x-axis. How do I do it? I have dragged the chart control onto the report page and populated the dataset. The chart shows but nothing like what I would expect. Just to make it simple I populated the dataset with an amount equivalent to the month number so it should show as 1 in January, 2 in Feb etc...However no matter where I drag the dataset's column names I don't get what I want. Where am I going wrong?
I use this simple loop to populate the dataset:

Scroll Left In Panel When Children.left= -
Jun 6, 2011I got a panel that i am adding labels to. I have autoscroll enabled on it so when they fill the viewable space it scrolls. but i need to put the labels to the left unviewable space(when left scroll is already at 0) The label is placed but i dont get the scroll bars and i cant force it to scroll to a - value.
Is this even possible? Same thing with UP.
Or is the Scroll only limited to Bottom and Right?

Oct 21, 2008I created a program that has serval labels on a form and a listview object. It has a button that when clicked reads a textfile and loads up values in the listview object. I then can click and drag text from the listview box to any label on the form and then the program removes the value from the listview box. Now, my question is how can I instruct VB to save these values in the text property of the labels so that the next time the program is loaded the labels will contain the values loaded during the last run time session?
