Using An Array To Print Out Test Results Based On Background Color?

I've created a program that requires students to answer addition questions.I have the code so that it calculates if the answer is correct, along with outputing the correct answer into a textbox.If the answer is correct the textbox background colour changes to green.If the answer is inocrrect the textbox background colour changes to red.I've done this using an array, and I want to use this array to calculate how many questions the students have answered correctly, and output them onto another page.I'm not sure is something like this would work:I was thinking about giving the textbox that outputs the grade score a value of 10. For every red box that is highlighted, 1 is taken away from the texbox value, outputting the amount of questions the user has answered correctly.Here is my array so far, not including the ability to output how many answers the student has answered correctly.

In an application for a Storage company, I have a form with 107 buttons in five Group Boxes. Each Group Box represents a Building and each Button represents a Storage Unit. They are layered in Table Layout Panels, bottom TLP has 5 columns, one for each Group Box, each Group Box has a TLP with 2 columns and 10 rows, where each button is located. What I would like to do is change the color of any button based on the results of a query.
Buttons are called btn1, btn2, btn3..... Text on the buttons is 1, 2, 3, 4,.... I have a table for the buildings and one of the properties is "Available" set as an intger and is either 0(No) or 1(Yes). I have a query that I run on form load that returns the correct results, to test I put a DGV on a form and set the DataSource to the DataSet returned. Returned is the "Available" Buldings Number(1-107)[code]...

Alright inside of a combo box I have a list of colors and I want to change the background color of the combo box to the selected color...basically this... but im not sure what the problem is here anyone have some advice or is this not possible?

I want the background of my form to be the same color as the window frame color that the user selects, even if that changes. I selected System->WindowFrame as my background color, but it always remains a dark grey, regardless of what I have my window color set to. How else would I achieve what I want? I assumed I was doing it the correct way. Do I actually need code that gets the system window color and then apply it?

The background color of an unselected menu item is set with "BackColor".The color of the text of a selected menu item is set with "ForeColor".How to set the background color of a selected menu item? I recently upgraded to Vista Business from XP Home. I found that my Visual Basic 2008 graphics applications is running much much slower in Vista than it was in XP. I took a small piece of my application and created a test program. I've set my computer up for dual boot so I now have XP Home and Vista Business on it. I've run my test program from both OSs and the results are tremendously different.
I have a custom built computer that has a Microstar Int. KT6 - V mother board. It has an AMD Athlon XP 3200 + 2.2 GHz with 2 GB RAM. It's a 32 bit processor. I do have the 32 bit version of Vista installed. I have only PCI slots and one AGP slot on my mainboard. I'm using a NVIDIA GeForce2 Graphics card that I bought back in 2005 with 32 MB RAM. what I am trying to accomplish worked with the code in the last thread I posted a while back. I still am using this code, however, I changed the window size to work better and gave it a nicer background for the title screen of my project. Now what I am working on at the moment is making a settings form that has 2 labels. One for "Default" Layout and one for "Plain" layout. When default is at start, the default label is disabled,and when plain layout is clicked, the button is disabled and default button is enabled.Basically, this is a toggle switch for default or plain where if one is enabled, the option for it is disabled and the other is enabled.My problem is that when I switch from Plain back to default, the background Image will not switch back from the plain background color of "control"Here is my code:

I need someone with patience and can go through a solution with me from the Clearly Visual Basic book. I'm good with computers and can usually learn things relatively fast on my own time and in my own way, but I'm going to school for computer programming and, with certain things, I learn better with things explained to me rather than reading from a book. I'm on my way to MSDN but thought I'd stop by here first because the answers are usually more cogent.I have a test bed that mimmicks my product app. The general architecture is a factory that builds/instantiates a number of objects (device controllers) that are scalable in number based on requirement. Each object has a threaded portion that reads a device. This way, each object can read its own device simultaneously with all the others. To perform the read, the object calls a routine in a Module that houses the device interfaces. Interestingly (and happily), it seems like each thread has its own copy of the Module routine.
The test bed seems to verify what I'm seeing in the app. In the testbed, a 500 mil second delay is substituted for the device call. Even enclosing the test module portion that hosts the delay in a Synclock results in multi-threaded execution of the pseudo device call. I haven't tested for data yet, but this seems to indicate that when the module routine is called from controller object, it too carries it's own copy of the data just like the calling object. As a long time c++ programmer...that don't quite seem right.

I have set the text color as Black.The problem is that if the user sets the color as Black then the color code will be unreadable. Can I set up a change in the font color when a certain true value comes up with a logical test - e.g. If the "value_if_true" says STOP, can I have the STOP show up in a red font and if the "value_if_false" says OK, then leave it as a black font?

I have a array of pixels. And I would like to Quantize them.
For Example
FF00FF,00FFFF stuff like that, but most are custom colors and are not a standard 256 color palette. So I need code to convert a color to a 256 color. I dont have any idea on how to do this, but thats why I came here. I do not want to use System.Graphics.Image.Palette or anything like that as this project uses arrays for images. I would like to if at all possible be able to convert a R, G, B color to 8bit, 16bit, 256bit and possibly use the HSL or NeuQuant method or something close to that, or maybe even some other methods of doing it. I do need to be able to do this for a single pixel, but I will also need a method for a array of them.

I have created a database that allows me to sort through the hundreds of pictures I have based on certain criteria. The file path for each picture is stored in a text box in the database (file path). I am currently using this code to copy the files to a new folder:
My.Computer.FileSystem.CopyFile(file_pathtextbox.text, �E:photo_gallary�)
However, this only copies the first file in my query not all the others. I am at a loss as how to loop through them all so they all end up in their new destination.

I am converting an old script from ASP to ASP.NET and would like some advice. The original ASP script used Response.Write to output information about what happened during execution. I have rewritten the entire thing in ASP.NET but it is new to me as an old-school C programmer. The job requirements include using the VB flavor of ASP.NET, btw.
I originally put up a TextBox and edited the text property to dump my final report. Now they want different colors for different message importance and I find that the TextBox can only do one color for all lines. I fell back to the old standby R.W but I get a message that it's not declared and from looking around I see that it's an issue because I'm calling it from the code behind and that is 'out of scope' from the HTML elements of the page itself.
My question is what is the best way to output information to the web page with different lines being different colors from a page's code-behind?

So i am converting a metafile (EMF to be exact) to a jpeg or gif (doesn't matter as long as it's compatible with browsers) and when I do the conversion, all of the transparent pixels turn black. I have no idea how to do this in GDI+ but here is the method I am using to save the file:

Everything I know about .Net programming tells me that the behavior I see here is completely impossible. Simple code:
Structure WKSTA_USER_INFO_1
Dim wkui1_username As Integer
Dim wkui1_logon_domain As Integer

When I put a break point in here, I see that after RtlMoveMemory, my wk1 contains a pointer to a username, and all the others are 0. This is consistant. Now, if I change Dim test As String = "" to Dim login As String = "" and run it again, wk1 contains pointers to both username and logon_domain.
If I change it to Dim login As String, it contains a pointer to only the username. Depending on what I change that (completely unused) variable name to, I get a different result.
I have always been under the impression that it cannot possibly matter what you choose to name your variable. And that declaring a variable, and then never using it, cannot possible be different from not having a variable there at all.
I've tried this on 2 computers, with consistant results (one on .Net 3.5 and one on 4.0). When I tried converting it to C#, however, I was not able to reproduce it.
I am aware, by the way, that I can just use System.Environment to get what I need about the current user information; this was old VB6 code that was automatically upgraded (and I've edited it a little to make it more trivial).
