im just wondering does anyone know how to prnt a page of results, and get a print preview using visual studio 2010 and asp.net 4.0.Im pulling students exams results into a gridview and have the class averages etc showing in a label on the academics page. However i need it to print this page, and also to have a print preview.

I have a PrintForm component on my form and I am trying to send the currently active tab page to the print form and then send it to the appropriate dialog. However, I keep getting the document contains no images. Any ideas how I pass the tab page to the print form component?

View 1 RepliesI have a working code that exports the datagrid into XLS. However, the datagrid results does not show on my aspx (html) page. It only shows on the page when I comment out the part that exports it to xls. I am not sure whether it should show by default when exporting.Basically, what I want to have is when I click my export button, it should display the datagrid on the page as well as popup an excel "open, save, cancel" window for the export.

I am developing an ASPX web page to return results from two SQL stored procs via VB. When I execute these two stored procs, they both return valid data. But for some reason, when I run this report it doesn't return any errors, however, it doesn't return any records/data either!
Also, I can't debug it for some reason, although I can set breakpoints! This is using VS 2008, but I think reason I can't debug is I believe this is a limited version that just works for SSRS and SSIS.

Could the problem be due to the fact that this web page uses the same SQL connection for both stored procs? The first proc should be returned initially, and the second proc after this screen. So I don't need both stored procs information simultaneously, so I would think I could reuse the same SQL connection.
OK, I found where the problem is located. If I just comment out the Level statement in the Where clause, it does return data. So only thing I changed was that one line in my SQL code and it works. This means missing data must be due to datatype incompatibility, no? What is the problem?

My instructor told us how to print documents and how to use databases. What the instructor did not mention is how to print or print a preview of records within a DatabaseDataSet. The book "Programming in Visual Basic 2010" does not explain how to print or do a print preview of Database Source records from within a form. The only thing I was told was to test the print document first before you try to do a print preview. Within a form I used a DataGridView to add, delete, and update the database. So now all I need to do is figure out how to print the updated records from the DataGridView and how to print a preview of the records within the DataGridView. So I hope my question is clear enough to give me assistance on how I can perform these two actions. Thanks this would be a great help, and since the class is online we can get assistance from any sources that we have.

The VB application has a folder of images, the same image has a large and a small size to accommodate for screen resolution. The application gives you the ability to print either image. Problem is that both of the images are blurry. The same image contained in the .pdf is crisp and sharp when printed from within the .pdf.

One output though has some long lines on the second page. I'd like to force the second page to print landscape and only when it's loaded this certain output.
How can I get the code below to print landscape for the second page? I have a variable that holds the type of output the viewer form is holding so a simple if statement could turn the landscape on for the one type of output.
I searched the forums and even grabbed a 101 examples pack from msdn but the examples didn't ever help me learn how landscape is set.

The problem is when one invoice has too many items, the program will not create a second page.
