Copy Files Based On Query Results?

I have created a database that allows me to sort through the hundreds of pictures I have based on certain criteria. The file path for each picture is stored in a text box in the database (file path). I am currently using this code to copy the files to a new folder:
My.Computer.FileSystem.CopyFile(file_pathtextbox.text, �E:photo_gallary�)
However, this only copies the first file in my query not all the others. I am at a loss as how to loop through them all so they all end up in their new destination.

In an application for a Storage company, I have a form with 107 buttons in five Group Boxes. Each Group Box represents a Building and each Button represents a Storage Unit. They are layered in Table Layout Panels, bottom TLP has 5 columns, one for each Group Box, each Group Box has a TLP with 2 columns and 10 rows, where each button is located. What I would like to do is change the color of any button based on the results of a query.
Buttons are called btn1, btn2, btn3..... Text on the buttons is 1, 2, 3, 4,.... I have a table for the buildings and one of the properties is "Available" set as an intger and is either 0(No) or 1(Yes). I have a query that I run on form load that returns the correct results, to test I put a DGV on a form and set the DataSource to the DataSet returned. Returned is the "Available" Buldings Number(1-107)[code]...

Now, I want to execute a sql query that will display the top 5 based on average, so i did this:

This is kind of a two part question. I'm trying to make a very simple automated program that will run two stored procedures (one that updates, one that displays the new results) and then copies the results to the clipboard and pastes it in a new e-mail. I already have the e-mail generating and grabbing whatever is on the clipboard, but I need help with the store procedures.
Every guide I look at on Google seems to show a slightly different way of working with SQL, but I threw this together and need to know if it's working. I don't get any errors and the program "hangs" about as long as it takes for the actualy SP to run, but how do I get the "rows affect" output into a textbox or something?[code]...

Everything I know about .Net programming tells me that the behavior I see here is completely impossible. Simple code:
Structure WKSTA_USER_INFO_1

Dim wkui1_logon_domain As Integer

When I put a break point in here, I see that after RtlMoveMemory, my wk1 contains a pointer to a username, and all the others are 0. This is consistant. Now, if I change Dim test As String = "" to Dim login As String = "" and run it again, wk1 contains pointers to both username and logon_domain.
If I change it to Dim login As String, it contains a pointer to only the username. Depending on what I change that (completely unused) variable name to, I get a different result.
I have always been under the impression that it cannot possibly matter what you choose to name your variable. And that declaring a variable, and then never using it, cannot possible be different from not having a variable there at all.
I've tried this on 2 computers, with consistant results (one on .Net 3.5 and one on 4.0). When I tried converting it to C#, however, I was not able to reproduce it.
I am aware, by the way, that I can just use System.Environment to get what I need about the current user information; this was old VB6 code that was automatically upgraded (and I've edited it a little to make it more trivial).

I have a datagrid control with a list of names that it retrieves from a MySql database. I can search through them until i have one result. I want to be able to Display a groupbox control when the number of results is equal to 1. Also, in the groupbox i have a button that when clicked will delete this user from the server and their information from the mysql table called "employee". when the user is deleted i'll display a confirmation message in a messagebox, and reload the table with the updated list. so far the only two problems i have are showing the groupbox when the results are equal to 1 and deleting the user from the sql server based on the name of the search result

I've created a program that requires students to answer addition questions.I have the code so that it calculates if the answer is correct, along with outputing the correct answer into a textbox.If the answer is correct the textbox background colour changes to green.If the answer is inocrrect the textbox background colour changes to red.I've done this using an array, and I want to use this array to calculate how many questions the students have answered correctly, and output them onto another page.I'm not sure is something like this would work:I was thinking about giving the textbox that outputs the grade score a value of 10. For every red box that is highlighted, 1 is taken away from the texbox value, outputting the amount of questions the user has answered correctly.Here is my array so far, not including the ability to output how many answers the student has answered correctly.

I wanted to get your feedback on a design/coding issue. I have a treeview which represents the device tree in device manager. I also have two listviews which display information about the currently selected device on the treeview. I'm only concerned with the first listview at this point. The information displayed in the listview varies depending on the selected device. I'm using the node index to track which device class and device is selected and I pass this into the device class Display method. I hate the idea of a big Select Case statement. Then there is also the dynamic nature of the device tree to consider.

I'm working on a form that has a few data grid views that are populated from LINQ queries, no problem there it works as it should however that sorting does not work. After doing some reading its because LINQ results do not support sorting.As I have the LINQ results already is there a way of copying the results into a dataset or datatable then binding the data grid view to that so sorting will work?

If this is in the wrong section, I have a program that queries a database and puts the info in a specific format in a txt file. Now my problem comes w/ how to format the date.
Should I format the date in the SQL query OR is there a way to take the result from the query and format sometime before it is writen to the txt file? I'm not exactly sure how to do either. Would I need a subquery to get the desired date format?

I'm a bit confused on how to grab query results. With VBA i would open a record set and have the results of the query written to that recordset. I am familiar with the VB6 ADO way of dealing with SQL queries and looping through the record set results.

I'm trying to execute a SQL query and pull the results into a text file. However, I'm getting an error in the bolded part. I think probably the biggest help would be an explaination of what the code in bold is actually doing. I pulled this from a book but don't think I completely understand. To me it seems like its saying that for each row in table 'extract'. Extract it, and write it?? But it doesn't seem to work that way. When it gets to that part, the error I get says that the row doesn't exist in the table

.NET masters!Im working on a VB.net file management program that copies 100,000s of small images (20 - 300 KB).At least it tries to. When doing large multi-hour operations I start getting exceptions with the"Insufficient system resources exist to complete the requested service." error message.In a few cases the computer has then crashed.After a lot of debugging, finally with livekd kernal dump I can see that the System PTEs in the Kernel Mem are getting very low.I can monitor the PTE's in realtime with Performance Monitor with the Memory/Free System Page Table Entries.After an hour or so the PTE's start dropping in what appears to be linear fashion as the program keeps copying.Im sure it is the copy function causing the problem, as when i let the code run but with the copy routine commented out, the free PTEs stopped going down.Behaviour is identical with both of these calls. System. IO. File.Copy(strFileSource, strFileDest, bOverwriteFile) My.Computer. FileSystem. CopyFile (strFileSource, strFileDest, bOverwriteFile)If I stop & close the program, PTEs do not seem to rebound at all. If I start the program again, the PTEs again start going down.SO: What is up with File.Copy? Why is it using and not releasing all these PTE's? Seems this memory should be free after the copy.How can I change my code to avoid running up the PTEs?The test computer is Windows XP sp2 with 500MB ram. (also been testing with 1.5 G ram)Ive found some helpful documents on PTEs, which discuss system configuration via registry settings. I have a query using LINQ-to-SQL. It queries an underlying database table Rooms. It uses Where conditions to narrow down the results, namely:
Gender.Current Occupancy < Max Occupancy Available Flag is Checked I know this should return results but it keeps returning an empty set.Code is below

UPDATE: I've verified that the issue is with the statement where sh.is_available = 1, which doesn't make sense since this is a bit field.

Why would a VB/ASPX page not return results for a query which runs fine with other Oracle clients? (Same username) The following code should first output the query and then execute it outputting a single exclamation point per record. However, it outputs the query (as it should), but does not return any rows (nor error). If I copy the query to SQL Plus (or other editor) as the same user, the query returns results.
Why might my code not output any results?

I have a basic question about using a database with Visual Basic.I'm using a OleDb connection. I have dragged and dropped editboxes from the DataDource view. This automatically places the table navigation- bar on the form. When I run it this works fine.However I want to be able to search within the table, with an SQL statement.How can I connect the results from the SQL query to the navigation bar,such that the editboxes automatically take the values of the record without having to assign every textbox manually?
