Can I set up a change in the font color when a certain true value comes up with a logical test - e.g. If the "value_if_true" says STOP, can I have the STOP show up in a red font and if the "value_if_false" says OK, then leave it as a black font?
I'm not sure this is really the right place for this question but I couldn't find a general programming forum. Why are the numeric values -1 and 0 used to represent the logical values TRUE and FALSE?
I'm working on a program that does a bit of color-coding in a datagridview. My problem is that when a row is selected, the color-coding goes away since the normal behavior for the datagridview is to change the back-color to blue and fore-color to white. What I want it to do though is keep the fore-color that is being set through my code. I guess what I'm trying to find out is if there is an event that happens when a row is selected that I can modify to run my own color-coding. I posted a link below to an image of my program that what I'm talking about. My color-coding code is below that (if anyone would want to know what that looks like). gets solved I'll be sure to post the code solution!

Well I've been working on a web designer and I wanted to be able to color different keywords and strings enclosed in quotes. Now I've been able to color the keywords but every time I try to color a string in quotes it colors the from the beginning of the document to the end of the quoted string. I've tried looking at samples and apply those methods to the code but it still colors all the text in front of the quoted string as well. This is the sub I'm using to color the text.
Public Sub ProcessText() Try LockWindowUpdate(_sourceRTB.Handle)
I have a win app written in Visual Studio 2008 and it uses the original back color from the form designer: Backcolor = control. The background color is slightly different when I use the following code
What I mean is have it where you can click on something and it would save that color and then later test if the color under the mouse has changed from what it originally saved it as.
I've created a program that requires students to answer addition questions.I have the code so that it calculates if the answer is correct, along with outputing the correct answer into a textbox. If the answer is correct the textbox background colour changes to green. If the answer is inocrrect the textbox background colour changes to red.I've done this using an array, and I want to use this array to calculate how many questions the students have answered correctly, and output them onto another page.I'm not sure is something like this would work:I was thinking about giving the textbox that outputs the grade score a value of 10. For every red box that is highlighted, 1 is taken away from the texbox value, outputting the amount of questions the user has answered correctly. Here is my array so far, not including the ability to output how many answers the student has answered correctly.
Public Num1(10), Num2(10) As Integer Private Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click
I am using datagrid to display & edit the value by end user. If the user is edit the any row, status column set as true (newly added column to get the edited rows) its working. But now I dont know how to get the values from datagrid by status = "True".
have web page, In that I created table and loaded row values at run_time using javascriptNow I want to take a those table values in aspx.vb coding area, I tried it does not pull up my values even my table has 3 rows, but in aspx.vb area it shows row count as 0. How can I achieve this.
I have several text boxes that I will input answers into and I want them to catch the values if they are incorrect or correct.
Example: the user will input a Letter for the answer, A or a, and I was curious to how the correct input can detect if the answer is correct. If the answer is A B C or D then no message should display but when it's some other value this message will come up.How do I use true or false in this code?
Dim dbl1 As Double dbl1 = CDbl(txt1.Text) If dbl1 Not 'A OR a' Then 'Display message MessageBox.Show("Enter A, B, C, or D")
I'm testing with 2 buttons on form, at the form level i have set: Dim btnIsClicked As Boolean = False if a button is clicked in the click event i then set the boolean to true, but is there a way i can check in another event whether the values has been set to true?
just a quick question. I'm trying to code a textbox that will enable a button, only when the value in the textbox is no less than 1. I've tried an if statement with txtBox.Text > 0 doesn't work Will it involve something with Min and Max values?
I am reading values from a database 0/1 false/true to populate the checkbox .The databse field is 'PPorCollect'. How can i figure out why the checkbox is not populating ?
OpenSQLConnection() Dim mcommand As New SqlClient.SqlCommand("up_loadOrderID", conn) mcommand.CommandType = CommandType.StoredProcedure[code]....
I populated a textbox with the value i was reading from the database.....Interesting the value is True/False not 0/1 like i was expecting...so i changed up the above code to the below code with no resolve....
Dim PPorCollect As Integer PPorCollect = mReader("PPorCollect") If PPorCollect = False Then[code]...........
here is the coding for creating a table with book name, author name, isbn , tileetc,........
in the below coding i need the insert , retrieve, and update coding as vb.net coding DataGridView1.ColumnCount = 4 DataGridView1.ColumnHeadersVisible = True
I need to test a string of text that needs to contain a certain type of char values. The known is allowing of a-z,A-Z,0-9. But the variable (which will be coming from a database field) will be the allowed symbols. The allowed symbols will look something like:!@#$%^&*()
So using regex, how can I check a string of text to make sure it ONLY contains a-z,A-Z,0-9 AND the allowed symbols as shown above? Remember, the allowed symbols is dynamic at run time so I need to somehow be able to plug that in to the method at run time.
The following examples would be valid using the above symbol string:
Test1234% Test1234
The following example would NOT be valid:Test1234%_
I am currently working on a program, that you enter certain values/text in and it organises it into a word document automatically,
I found a code online, which has worked a treat, However I'm wondering what lines of code I would need to:
1. Add Bullets or Numbers
2. Add a new line of text (I can add a new paragraph but I don't want a huge space between the two lines)
3. I have around 20 check box's is there a quicker way to check which are selected then write the text in word or do I have to write alot of If Checkbox1.Checked = True then, etc)
This is my problem.I have a field set up in MS Access to Boolean YES/NO, this field is populated when the user check a checkbox on a windows form. If the user check a checkbox, the value is written as checked in the data field (MS Access). The problem is when I search for the user information, I need the information from the Data base to populate(return) to the windows form. Example: If I enter a users phone number and the user data is present, the form gets populated with the information the user previously entered which was store in the database.Example: If the user selected checkbox1 and submits the form. When I search for the user info, the check box should check(populate) because the user had checked it on submit. Here is what I have done:
[code]...
I am getting the check value correctly in the database using a Boolean. Here is one of the errors I am getting. Unable to cast object of type
'System.Boolean' to type 'System.Windows.Forms.CheckBox.I am having trouble putting the codes in a code tag or block
I am developing a report which outputs data in a SQL Table via an ASPX page, using VB. How do I code this so that all rows containing a "1" for one of the columns, shows up as red? Here is what I have so far. This doesn't cause any errors, but it doesn't show up as red either.
I don't know if this is a problem, but the ExceedsLimit and SixInARow variables are INTs in my stored procs, but then I am declaring them as strings in the code below.
Private Sub DataGrid1_ItemDataBound(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.Web.UI.WebControls.DataGridItemEventArgs) If e.Item.ItemType = ListItemType.AlternatingItem Or e.Item.ItemType = ListItemType.Item Then
I am trying to test certain cell values to see if they contain subtrings of a certain format at the END of the cell sting value.E.G.I have cells with the values...
324f5 346-ssth 4565-Q1-09 dsfsd46
[code].....
I want to run a macro that searches through the cells and tests to see if they have a substring sitting at the end of the value that is in the format "-Q[number]-[number][number]" OR "-[3 LETTER MONTH ABBREVIATION][number]-[number][number]" OR "-[3 LETTER MONTH ABBREVIATION][number][number]-[number][number]"and then if the test is true, the cell color is changed to RED.So if I ran the macro on the example I gave above, it would turn the cells with the following values red:
4565-Q1-09 454354-FEB2-09 546-5-MAR03-09
I can do all the VB side of things but I don't know Regex but know it would help. I'm in a bit of a rush to finish this job for work because I finish working here in 2 days and need to get it done before I leave!
Using VS 2008 vb.net how can I change the color from green to yellow to red as my values decrease? Actually the logic is easy but my color isn't changing.
progressbar1.forecolor = color.red -- This is not working
how to, Search for a pixel and replace it well now im stuck on finding out how i could do shades, So im using this code
Dim newImage As Bitmap = New Bitmap(PictureBox1.BackgroundImage) Dim bmp As Bitmap = DirectCast(PictureBox1.BackgroundImage, Bitmap) For x As Integer = 0 To bmp.Width - 1[code]....
now how could i have it. say if x,y= any shade of black Then.'Take Action' im making my own paint type tool so im jw how i could paint all black even if it is just 1 digit off from 0,0,0'<- Black' give me some example code on how to loop threw some lines of r,g,b values so i could use that in my function
Say we have a DataGridView on the main form. I can chose to establish its properties by code or by selecting them in the Properties panel. Is there a difference between these two techniques, a loading time penalty in any of the cases especially?
Did anyone else read this article under Visual Basic News? I thought it was a very bad treatment of the subject. I especially don't like articles like that when the code they post relies on Option Strict Off.
