Create A Tiny Calculator Using The Basic Operators Of Addition - Subtraction - Multiplication
Oct 31, 2011
I need to create a tiny calculator using the basic operators of Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication, and Division. My professor hasn't really covered much of this, so I'm not to sure how to create it.
I have made my calculator and it has 2 textboxes where the 2 numbers (or values go for addition and subtraction) are input and a label where the answer appears. There is other things on the page such as quit, clear etc thats all done but i have one query. I noticed while testing a problem occurs when only one number or value is put into a textbox and a command is hit. For example. one textbox (txtnumber1) has one number in it then i hit multiply and it says the error of course because its not programmed to deal with this (or divide by 0 of course) so i was wondering how i could make so when this happens a MsgBox appears saying a value must be in both boxes or when divded by zero is says something similar.
The line of code:
Private Sub blah blah blah...
If txtnumber1.Text = False Then MsgBox("Please Input Valid Value")
I am using Visual Studios 2008. I'm trying to make a basic addition calculator. It consists of 2 input text boxes, 1 output box and one button. Below is the code I have which works, however, instead of just displaying the answer, I want it to display the entire arithmetic problem including the answer. For example. Instead of just giving me the answer of "6" in the output text box, I want it to say "3 + 3 = 6".
Here is the code I have so far. Public Class Form1 Private Sub btnAddition_Click_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles btnAddition.Click Dim num1, num2, sum As Double [Code] .....
i am currently making a maths game but i have run in to trouble trying to do the addition and subtraction side of the game. This is my current class file for my multiplication
Public Class Class2 Private Property question_gameplay_label As String Private Property correctAnswer As Integer
I got a problem with my calculation .The problem is after addition and subtraction calculation I only get result or answer 0, .There are not a correct answer. I try to change the datatype of the variable to decimal and double but answer is still 0.
Here is my coding. Private Sub btnadditionprice_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles btnadditionprice.Click Dim sum6, sum9 As Decimal sum6 = Val(Me.ItemPriceTextBox.Text) + Val(Me.txtadditionprice.Text) [Code] ..... Answer which got is 0.000
I have made an countdown app that is working in a normal way (added picture of it). Now when I select a number in the numeric box and click start, it starts to count down from that many minutes, but what I want is the number I put in the box *3. So if I put in 3 (points) the counter will count down 9 minutes. If it is possible I want a counter at the bottom every 3 minutes the value of the 000 at the bottom of the image multiply by 1 (+1 for every 3 mins timer1 runs).
I'm writing a program for my algebra students to practice integers.Stuff like....
3-6 -4 + (-5) 3(-4) -15 3 etc.
I want to show an explanation and for the addition and subtraction, I want to show it on a number line. For example, if the problem is 3 - 7, the number line should show and arrow to that goes right to 3, and then left 7 units (starting from 3). Then the student can see that the answer is -4.I could probably do this with some string manipulation, but what would be the easiest way to do it in a picture format? Maybe a bitmap.
Simple Calculator multiplication and division Trying to make a simple calculator. My program inputs numbers and arithmetic operations thru commandbuttons. The numbers, num(n-+1), are odd and the operations, op(n), are even. The code is based on the even op string. Every time a op occurs it is stored in numop(n) to be accessed later. I have all the other operations in sequential order: "*"," "/, "+" and "-". The other similar For-Next loop are the same just interchange the two * for /, +and -. The "+" and "-" work fine in this configuration.
My problem is the multiplication and division does not occur. The numbers and operations line up. The numop(m)=g*h should yield numop(m)=num(1)*num(3). Is there some sort of code to be inserted to accomplish these multiplication and division operations?
I want to create a tiny program that writes itself. VB.
Basically, I start it off with the smallest coding possible. Then, I want it to be able to automatically generate buttons, forms, labels by itself. I want it to compile another version of itself, and to test if it worked. I want it to in someway to be able to ask the new application if it works, and if it does to close both and to run the newer variation, then to repeat this process. I guess this is kind of like a self-manifesting application that keeps growing; an AI perhaps. Is this possible?
Is there a way you can do this ? I would like to have a collection class of T that would be able to do addition, substraction on the T type. I would like to keep T generic instead of having couple collections with the same code, but different types. How would you constrain the generic T?
Example: I would like to define a Collection(of T as IDoMaths). I wouldn't like to create my own integer etc classes with named methods to do the operations, because I think it would be slower. This part of the code is actually called very often and tends to be the bottleneck in performance.
I recently installed visual studio 2010 and am using visual basic. The problem I am having is that some operators do not show up within the editor. For example the code line below test = 3 + 5 - 6 / 7 * 4
only displays
test 3 5 - 6 / 7 * 4
the = + operators are not visible although they are there since the program will work as intended....and if I open up the .vb file in notepad everything is there. It just won't display within Visual Studio.
i need to create a hash table using a multiplication method and i need to create an array of linked listso how i can to create array of linkedlist in vb or c# ?
Im using Visual Basic 2005."Devise a program to create a multiplication square for any size the user enters, up to a maximum of 10x10. The program should output something like this for a 4x4 square.
1234 2468 36912 481216
You will need to make use of the RichTextBox, along with concatenation to make the output format correctly within the box. When you have created the working program, document it properly by printing out and annotating the code to explain how it works."
I am new to visual basic 2008, and i started with simple project-calculator. I made it to the point where "+" sign works, and "=" sign execute the command of "+" sign. Now i try to make "-" sign work: the problem is, idk how to bind it with "=". Here is the
Public Class Form1 Dim total1 As Integer Dim total2 As Integer
Sweet candy store currently has a special offering of heart shaped candy. It comes in two sizes: small and large. The company sells the large one for $29.50 and the small for $16.25.Design an application to calculate how much a costumer owes. When the user clicks the "Calculate" button, the program gets the number of large and small chocolate hearts ordered from the textboxes, calculates and displays the extended price for each type of the chocolate in a label. The program also calculates the weight of the chocolate to determine the shipping cost, displays the total weight, the shipping cost and the final total due. The large chocolate weighs 4 pounds 10 ounces, and the small one weighs 2 pounds 14 ounces. Shipping cost is 35 cents per pound and 3 cents for each additional ounce. Display all dollar amounts except the final total due with 2 decimal places. Display the FINAL TOTAL DUE with a leading dollar sign and 2 decimal places. Be sure to also include a CLEAR button that will remove all inputs/outputs from the form, and an EXIT button. Define the CALCULATE button as the accept button and the EXIT button as the cancel button.
im supposed to create a mortage calculator but my teacher gave us no hints as to what we had to do so could someone explain wat its supposed to do in a nut shell
ive got to create a BMI calculator using metric units, when i enter my data, it doesnt work (i put in 1.5m and 90kg but the answer comes out at 3, and in clearly not anorexic heres what ive got at the moment
Dim BMIResults As New frmBMIResults Dim Answer As Integer Dim BMIAnswer As Integer Answer = CType(tbHeight.Text, Integer) * 2 BMIAnswer = CType(tbWeight.Text, Integer) Mod Answer 'BMIResults.Show() 'Me.Hide()
I'm taking an introductory programming course, and am completely flummoxed as to what I'm doing wrong with my program. The problem seems to be in my arithmetic, as the program runs fine; it just doesn't produce the correct result when compared to the professor's control model.
I need to create a mortgage calculator, using the following formula: monthly payment = interest rate * loan amount * ( (1+ interest rate) ^ months) / ((1+interest rate)^months)-1) )
We have to use that formula, no other one. If anyone can spot an error in my code, please let me know what I've done wrong!
I am trying to create a calculator, which can accept numeric keyboard imput, as well as button clicks, and display the number in a label.
Why does the numeric keyboard input work in this instance
Public Class Form1 Sub Form1_KeyPress(ByVal sender As Object, _ ByVal e As KeyPressEventArgs) Handles Me.KeyPress
[Code].....
Even if I press a keyboard number before pressing the button(so there is no need to clear the label if the button is pressed first etc), the number is not displayed in the label. And even if I completely comment out the code for the button-click, the keypress event still does not display the number in the label. It is as if just having the code for the button completely disables the keypress.
I have probleam with my code, currently i am create scientific calculator which have function sin, cos & tan. The code i create it not working because every time i convert the function it will show 0 as answer. how to correct my code here.
Public Class Form1 Dim total1, total2 As Double Dim [Operator] As String Const conversionFactor As Double = Math.PI / 180 Dim result As Double total2 = Val(answer.Text)
