I'm trying to make a simple total function which sums the values of a particular column in a data grid. Normally the expression is evaluated when I leave from the datagridview, but I wish it to be evaluated when the row is changed.

My underlying DataTable contains values that are formatted when displayed in my DataGridView.For example, if the DataColumn contains 1.52 and the DataGridViewColumn.DefaultCellStyle.Format = "n0" then 2 is displayed.So the user sees 2, then sets the DataView.RowFilter = "DataColumn = 2", and no DataRows are returned. Is there a way to format the DataColumn in the RowFilter string? For example, DataView.RowFilter = "FORMAT(DataColumn, "n0") IN (2, 4)". This filter string should return 3 rows. If not, can LINQ do this?

I am trying to sort this by date desending but it will only sort by the day (dd) and not the whole date (dd/mm/yyyy) which leaves the months unsorted.

Jul 27, 2011I'm exporting a datagridview to excel. The first column is a Date (not DateTime) which appears like '2/15/2011'. After exporting the datagridview to excel it appears in excel as '2/15/2011 0:00', furthermore the first 68 rows in excel appear as '6/14/1898 12:00:00 AM'. Where is the time coming from? The column type in the database is date. I've attempted to edit the cell style of the datagridview column to date. I've attempted to figure out how to pre-program the formatting in excel, but it's not working either.

Null Dates In Mysql Throw Exception When Loaded Into Datagridview?
Feb 15, 2012Having problems with null dates in a mysql table. Have eventually found out that I can store a 'null' date in mysql as "0000-00-00" and I can run the 'insert' command to add a record to the mysql table. When I check on mysql workbench I can see the row has been inserted correctly and the date shows as "0000-00-00".However...When I try to load the table into a datagridview, I get an error = mysql Conversion Exception was unhandled = "Unable to convert MySQL date/time value to System.DateTime".

-DD in the first box
-MM in the second and
-YYYY in the third
I then need to get todays date and take their date of birth from todays date so that I can output to 3 labels the length of time they have been alive in years,months and days.I assume I will need to use timespan? in some way but I am not sure how , or is there perhaps a better way?

Jul 15, 2011I am trying to create a basic tracker where and person clicks on button1 to display the start time in textbox1, button2 displays the stop time in textbox2 and texbox3 displays the difference between stop / start time. Textbox3 keeps showing 00:00:00 and not the difference between textbox2 / textbox1. I am having difficultly getting the format for the final textbox. This is not allowed. It has to be a basic DataColumn.

If I select December 2010 I should get the folllowing
startdate = 2010-12-05
enddate = 2010-12-31
Select January 2011 then
startdate = 2011-01-01
enddate = 2011-01-15
Should I subtract dates? How can I get the start and enddate for the current month/year based on the overall start and end date.I'm coding in vb.net.
