Using a datagridview for the first table I am able to enter and save data ok. if I run the code twice in a row the data is still there. When I edit the data in the related table in it's own datagirdview the data is there and displays correctly, but on running the code a second time the related data is lost. Retrieve Data From A Datagridview Loaded With Data From A Linq Database
Apr 9, 2010I have three tables in SQL server which I would like to show and access on a form. Table 1 contains account data, address, contact details etc. Table two contains data attached to a Person, tel no , Mobile no, Email etc. Table three contains details on what awards the person holds, i.e. one person can hold several awards.
Therefore I have a one many relationship between the first two tables and a one many relationship between the second two tables. This is set up in SQL
The first two tables are shown on a form, table 1 via a set of text boxes, table 2 via a datagrid control.
I would like the functionality whereby I could select a row in the datagrid showing the persons name and find the Persons_ID number then use that as a filter to a second datagrid view so that only the selected persons awards show in the datagrid.

And i've got a some code like this

This writes the code like this

So it's adding an extra Ref where it shouldn't be because there is no data after the last -
Is there a way to stop this adding in the extra one?

Data Not Going To Serial Port As One Data String?
May 25, 2009I have to send the user-input data to the serial port. From the serial port the Modbus controller reads the data in Modbus/RTU mode.Now consider the following:Private WithEvents sp as serialport Now when I send sp.Write "192" to the serial port, I was that the complete data go as one data packet. Instead what I find that when this data is sent to a hardware controller, I find that the serial port first transmits 1, then 9 and then 2. Because of this my modbus does not recognize this data and throws and error. I tried sending "12" and again i find that it goes as "1" and then "2". Is there any way to send the data as one data packet so that my modbus can read "192" as one data packet value and not as 3 data packets of 1, 9, and 2?

Mar 14, 2010I'm trying to add a datagridview in vb.net, but it does not allow me to change the connection string or the database that should be imported to connect to it. The only thing that I'm seeing is the previous ms sql database that I connected with datagridview and everytime I click the new connection, the window closes and it leaves me with the datagridview with the previous connection that I have. And its not applicable because, now I want to connect it with mysql. Not ms sql. Its some sort of a cache like feature in vb.net, how do I get rid of it. so that I can add the new connection for mysql? Do I need to reinstall visual studio 2008?

Dec 24, 2011In my windows form I have an empty datagridview that contains strings loaded from a csvfile. The datagridview has no initial column collection. There are four columns in the csv file. In the csv file, columns 1 and 2 have values of true orfalse. So far I am able to load the text perfectly.
What I want to do is change the strings "true" or "false" into an image in my resources (a pretty green checkmark and a red x).
I would like to leave the csv file text as it is, and then change the columns dynamically.
Then, when I save the information back to the csv file, the images must be converted to text strings to accomodate the csv.
