I need to know the code that I would put in this expression line so that this column adds up the numbers I input into three other columns and displays that number in the column. View 20 RepliesI have a data table, i want to add a new column on that table, the data in that new column will depend in the data from another column. Now i can think of two ways to accomplish this, first is loop through the whole table and do the statements to get my new columns appropriate data. the second approach would be to give the new column an expression, then convert the table to xml (to remove the expression) then convert the xml string back to datatable.
Now, is there any other way around this? what could be the most optimized way in solving this task?

I have a [addDate] field in my Access Database that the user will put in a number. So if they type 10 then that represents 10 days.
There is preferably a textbox that will display the starting date, this will be bound to another table. (I can make another field with this data, or date/time chooser, etc if necessary).
What I want to do is add a calculated field [newDate] to my datagridview that will add the number of days typed in the [addDate] field to the starting date in the textbox.
I've tried making fields for [originalDate] and [addDate] and tried using [originalDate] + [addDate] as an expression but that give me a debug crash error because the designer won't let me add a system.datetime to anything and if I keep them as strings, they just combine the text, and the date as a double obviously don't work either.

i have this sql code. what i want to do is that create a basic login form where users puts it's username in the UsernameTextbox and Password in the PasswordTextbox. If the the information match then a message box appears saying that the user is valid and if the information does not exist, a mesage box appears saying the users is not valid. now everytime i execute(run) the code, i come up with this error: Syntax error (missing operator) in query expression ''UserName' = 'Admin' 'PassWord' = 'testing123''.
The field names(UserName, PassWord) are also correct they are same as in the database. the information put in the username and password textbox are correct and they match the information on the database. But i dont know why this error comes up.

I have a csv file that comes in I put it into a dataset and do a little manuipulation of the appearance of how the data is presented and then I put it back out into a different csv file that our 3rd party application will except. I was importing it into SQL Server and then doing a select statement to grab the data back out in the format I required. However I'd really like to eliminate the need for the SQL Server use.
So my question is how do I add in the 1st column of a CSV file the column name "KC" with a value of "1" there will only be 1 rows worth of data, mind you it's 55 columns long but there is nothing I can do about that, it's the way it has to be.So do I do this in the DataTable or when I create the CSV file? And how do I do this?
