I need to find a way to find the date (DD/MM/YYYY) of the Monday for any week we're on.
For example, for this week, monday would be 09/11/2009, and if this were next week it'd be 16/11/2009.
I managed to get somewhere in the forms of code, but all I got was 'cannot convert to Integer' errors. I was using Date.Today and AddDays().
I need to find the date of Monday this week programmatically.For example, for this week Monday was on the 9th, so the date I need is: 09/11/2009.And when we roll over to next week it needs to calculate: 16/11/2009..I have tried doing this myself but I can't see how to do the arithmetic.

View 1 RepliesI had some trouble specifying Monday as the first day of week in the DateDiff function.
The following syntax does not work: Dim myWeekNumber as Int32 = DateDiff("ww",date1,date2,2)
Compiler Error Message: BC30519: Overload resolution failed because no accessible 'DateDiff' can be called without a narrowing conversion
However, using the enumeration value (FirstDayOfWeek.Monday) instead of the value (2) does work. I wonder why.
I have a two buttons: Previous Week & Next Week When i run the app the LabelDate needs to shows up "May 31, 2010 - June 6, 2010" When i click a previous week button i want to set LabelDate's text to "May 24, 2010 - May 30, 2010" If i click Next Week button i want it shows up "June 7, 2010 - June 13, 2010" Means it should always display previous/next week starting from Monday and ending with Sunday.
View 4 RepliesI have a DateTime struct I use, and sombody commented out the part where it was created (but not declared) When I was using it, myDate.DayOfWeek == DayOfWeek.Monday returned true.
If the part where it is created is commented out, how can it tell me it's monday, instead of throwing some exception?
I need to generate a report that shows the 52 weeks of a year (or 53 weeks as some years have) and their start and end dates. There is an ISO spec to do this but seems awfully complicated! Im hoping someone knows of a way to do it in C# or Visual Basic (its actually for Visual Basic 6 but I will try port it across)
View 7 RepliesOk so i'm working on this project that requires me to imput a month and year which then will output the number of days in the selected month for you to select from, then determines what day of the week it is. The problem i'm having is that I cant get the month to the converted value that I need for it to work . Example: January will be the 13th month and february as the 14th of the previous year. Heres what i have so far if it helps. Aslo the code that I have to use to find the day of the week only works when the total is divided by 7, and then the value of the remainder is the day of the week with saturday =0, sunday=1, monday=2, and so on.

Given a week number, I need to get the date of the Monday of that week.For example, I have several strings that are stored in a file, such as
"WK 28 2010"
"WK 30 2010"
They could be any any valid week number.
The Monday on Week 28 of the year is 12 July 2010
The Monday on Week 30 of the year is 26 July 2010
Its these dates that I need.
I guess I could create a lookup table, but would prefer a more smarter approach so my software will be future compatible?

I can do this on the SQL side or the code side. I have Linq at my disposal if I need it. The table doesn't need to be compiled by SQL. This will happen dynamically on a website and should be as efficient as possible.I don't want to have to iterate through each and look for breaks in contiguous days if I don't have to.
I have two datetimepicker controls now when I select February 22, 2010 from datetimepicker1 which is Monday I want the other datetimepicker2 to be February 25, 2010 which is Thursday. This means that I want datepicker2 to automatically look for the Thursday value of the week. I have set my week start day as Saturday and ends on Thursday, Friday is holiday.

View 3 RepliesI am in a VB 2010 class right now, and I'm suppose to write a program that requests the user's date of birth and then display the day of the week (such as Sunday, Monday, ect...) on which day they will have or had their 21st. Birthday.
I already have the GUI made up with a MaskedTextBox set to simple date and it is named = mtbDayOfBirth
I also have the button already to calculate this, and a read only text box named = txtBox2.

The only thing in my book only talks about how to pull the number of days from your bday or pull the full birthday as like the 04/06/1992 would return Monday, April 06, 1992.
In regular SQL i could do something like
SELECT * From T GROUP BY DATEPART(wk, T.Date)
How can i do that in Linq to SQL ?

but, when I execute this function, it always say:"Date has been manually modified, Please Set to Valid DateTime" But, DateTime Now is NOT lessthan the Date from my Database. What's wrong?
