Disable Macro And Start-Up Values While Opening MS Access DB

Mar 26, 2009

"How to avoid Linked Table manager message while opening the Access DB."I have asked how to disable Macro (programmatically vb.net) while opening the MSAccess DB and I got some good reference and code samples to do so. But unfortunately I could not able to achieve the expected result. I have tried API to enable/disable Keys (SHIFT) at run time and also use some command-line options programmatically but still it's not working even not getting any error as well. One of my AccessDB contains Macro and it calls a form while opening the DB. And the form has some link to Tables and it creates interrupt asking proper path to the table and halts the application till the user intervention.Other one calls form in start-up while opening the DB. It causes opening of all the forms while running the Application.

Opening A Macro From VB2005?

Feb 23, 2009

I have created a project in VB2005, and I am using ms access 2003 as the database. I have created a report in ms access and I have also created a macro. I have added the following code to open the macro, but when i click on the button to call the procedure I get the following message:

Dim Adb As New Microsoft.Office.Interop.Access.Application()
Adb.OpenCurrentDatabase("C:program filesSupport DeskAccessdatabase.mdb")
Adb.DoCmd.RunMacro("Macro2")

When I run the code, and I call the procedure to call the Macro, nothing happends, I don't get an error or anything, what a my missing? The macro does exist.

Excel 2007 Macro - Runtime Error 1004 After Saving And Re-opening A File

Oct 25, 2009

I have an Excel file with utilizes macros to allow a user to enter names of people and then double click on cells to enter ratings via radio buttons. When I open a blank file and enable the macros, I can add users, rate their skills using the radio buttons, etc. with no issue. I then SaveAs the file and continue working on it. once I Save and CLOSE the file, then go to re-open it, the trouble begins. Keep in mind, there is no alteration to the macros directly. Just entering data and using the form as intended. Here's what happens.

I reopen the file.I enter in the name of a person on one line. I go to the first box - double click on it.It is supposed to pop up a dialog box which allows me to choose a rating via radio button (as I had been doing before I closed the file). Instead, in that first column of ratings, it instead gives me the following error:

Runtime error '1004'Unable to set the LineStyle property of the Border class

When I hit "debug" this is the code it points to:

If ActiveCell.Column = leftb Then Range(Cells(ActiveCell.Row, leftb), Cells(ActiveCell.Row, rightb + 1)).Borders(xlEdgeTop).LineStyle = xlContinuous I have no idea why this would not work when I re-open the file!

note that when I go to click on the subsequent cells (there are 8 cells in which you provide ratings, moving across the columns with each cell) - the 2nd through 8th cells function fine. The dialog box pops up, the rating can be selected. it's just the FIRST cell that gives the issue What would possibly be the cause of this? We need users of this form to be able to save, close, and re-open it if needed.

Macro In Excel - Increasing Values By 10 Percent

Apr 25, 2010

I'm guessing the reason this macro isn't doing what I want it to is because of an error on my part in the code. Basically, I want the values in the cells pointed out in the code to be increased by 10% each time the button is pushed.

Here is the code:
Sub Add10percent()
IncreaseColumnValuesBy10Percent 2, 0.1
IncreaseColumnValuesBy10Percent 4, 0.1
IncreaseColumnValuesBy10Percent 6, 0.1
IncreaseColumnValuesBy10Percent 8, 0.1

Calling Access Macro From .NET?

Mar 20, 2011

I call an Access macro from vb.net like so: Acc.DoCmd.RunMacro("Macro1")

The Macro in Access has many OpenQuerys and Msgbox with a message saying "data done" at the end.

When I execute the macro from vb.net, it shows the data done message and then done. However, when I analyse the table's to see if data has been appended, it hasen't.When I run the same macro from within Access, it works fine. It does show many messages like "You are about to run an append query that will modify data in your query" and I hit yes and does take slightly longer, but it does do it. In VB.NET, the only message I get is the final messagebox.

Reverse Engineer Access Macro From .NET

Jun 7, 2010

A co-worker has inherited a Microsoft Access macro that executes a series of SQL operations against a Sybase database by calling OpenQuery on a bunch of action queries, which use linked tables over ODBC. I would like to help him convert it to an SQL script that we can execute directly against the database. And since we have quite a few macros like this, I'd like to come up with a conversion tool.

I expected to be able to access the details of the macro using COM interop. So far I haven't been able to find a way to get to those details. [Code]. I don't think any of the members of AccessObject provide the information I need. But I can't find anything else that even mentions macros. Anybody ever done anything like this? Is there some DoCmd or SysCmd operation that will work here?

Start A Vb Express Application Without Opening Its Form?

Jul 28, 2010

I've been in VB express for about tree weeks, formerly of VB 5 for about 10 years.

I need to open a form on top of the form of another application, that is, making the other applications form its parent. The title on the applications form can change, so searching for the form by name won't work.

I'm also curious, can you start a vb express application without opening its form? Like in Vb5/6 you could start in Sub_Main?

Quit An Excel Macro Externally (from A GUI Not From Macro)

Oct 21, 2010

I'm have a program (GUI) that interfaces with excel to execute macros. We're using Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel to call/run the macros and this works great. What I can't figure out is a good way to cancel the macros from the GUI.One idea we had was to use the excel.application variable that runs the macros to write a "stop" value to a specific cell in the workbook, and in the macros (they are all mostly loops), check for the "stop" value in that cell. This crashes my GUI with this The program '[2188] BVLReports.vshost.exe: Managed' has exited with code -336589910 (0xebf00baa).And excel gets tied up, and won't respond. I know how to Exit Sub from within the macro if the "stop" value exists, so I don't need answers on how to check/cancel from inside the macro. Any ideas on a better way to write this "stop" value or a better way to cancel the macros externally?

Excel - Code In VBA And Recording A Macro - Input A Values For The X Axis Rotation And The Y Axis Rotation

Sep 16, 2009

I am having some major problems with the code in VBA and recording a macro didn't get me anywhere nor is the VBA help file. I have to have it so that I can input a values for the x axis rotation and the y axis rotation so that my 3d surface graph will rotate whatever values I input, the 3d surface graph will rotate those degrees. I also have to have a method for having the default rotation. I was also wondering how to put scroll bars for the x and y rotation. The only other thing I am having trouble with is having an input to check box for right angle axes. So far I have two cells for entering the x rotation value and the y rotation value. I also already have my 3d surface graph.

Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel : Disable Select Locked Values In A Worksheet?

I am using the Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel library in VB.Net on an excel sheet that is protected. All of the protected settings are working fine except that I cannot set Select Locked Cells which shows when you are using the Excel protect sheet interface but I cannot see how to set this to false using the library. Avoid Linked Table Manager Message While Opening The Access DB?

Jun 27, 2012

My Application ( Vb.Net) is to scan Access DB forms and find out the Activx control if present and it works fine. But my problem is.In some DBs we have tables with mapping path to specific locations (Table Property->Linked Table Manager) and when we relocate these DBs then we need to change the path manually otherwise it will show a message to re-link ( Access DB message) while opening the DB. And I am facing same problem while scanning through my Tool as well and my process stops, continue only by manual intervention.

Do I capture the massage event and send some user specific message to user in the Log file or Report and continue scanning further?
