Disable Auto-generated Event When Double Click A Control?
Apr 26, 2012
As mentioned in the subject. I found this default setting in VB 2010 rather annoying. For example:I have created an combox box and i have created an event as below as well
Private Sub cmbBuildingID_TextChanged(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles cmbBuildingID.TextChanged
listUnitStatus()
I cannot for the life of me disable fullscreen on the WMP control when the control video is double clicked on... I posted yesterday regarding this, but marked the thread as resolved as i thought i had fixed this by going:
I have a vb.net application that uses Flash movies (AxShockwaveFlashObjects.AxShockwaveFlash). I have buttons in the flash movie. When they first start using the application, they can single click on the buttons in the flash movie and button responds accordingly. But after a while (and I haven't been able to pin-point an exact thing that changes it or my issue would be solved), the user has to double-click on the button in the flash movie for them to work.
Tried to look for a solution for this problem everywhere and can't seem to find it?I have found solutions related to sub-classing the document, but this method results in a Null Exception as there is no document.
Private Sub Form1_Load(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load
AddHandler Me.WebBrowser1.Document.ContextMenuShowing, AddressOf WebContextMenuShowing WebBrowser1.ContextMenu.Dispose() WebBrowser1.ContextMenu.Show(WebBrowser1, pas) End Sub
i want to disable double click to prevent WMP from change into full screen mode and i also want to disable right click to prevent WMP from showing option such as
I am trying to playback several divx encoded videos, so far I've found that using windows media player control will do the thing, but I have run into several issues.I have no idea how can I disable the double click so users cannot turn the video to fullscreen.I found on google this code, but unfortunately it didn't work for me, had absolutely no effect, I could still double click the media player and enter fullscreen mode[code]...
Working in the interface I find it very frustrating that when you double click something in a form, it automatically enters code that you have to delete, then exit out when you were only trying to single click. Is there any way to disable this double click feature? Or possibly change it so if you press CTRL and click it automatically brings up the Code?
I have a situation where I am handling both single & double mouse click events on a form. In both cases something has to be loaded, however when a double click occurs, I do not wish to execute the code attached to the single click event. Is there a way to intercept the mouse click's and check if double or single and then execute the right event appropriately?

I have a solution in Vb.NET 2008 windows Form with ToolStripMenuItems, but I need to implement menu navigation without any mouse intervention.I only found mouse events In ToolStripMenuItems, MenuStrip, etc.All MenuStrip and ToolStripMenuItems are created programatically, reading user permissions from Database, then add a handler to manage the events, but the client don't want mouse interaction, he wants only keyboard inputs only ![code]
I have 4 items in a ListBox and each item does a specific thing when it gets clicked on.But I also want the double click event to do the same thing as the click event.I can copy and paste all code from click event into double click event, but then you have lots of code crowding the code page doing the same thing. So what to do about this?
Example: Private Sub listBox1_DoubleClick(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As EventArgs) _ Handles listBox1.DoubleClick
I created a button control ,, by double clicking only the process was going on,,when iam single click the button nothing is to be happenend,,so i want to change into single click insted of double click........here my coding is given below.......

I have a MenuStrip created at design time with a number of ToolStripItems and ToolStripSeparators. By default when a user clicks on one of the separators the menu closes but nothing happens (as there is nothing in the separator click event). I would like the menu to stay open if a user clicks on the separator, but how do I handle this?
I have a double click event for a notify icon that will bring up my main form. The double click event isnt firing. Even if I put a breakpoint in the code it never gets executed. Here is what I have so far:
Private Sub Form1_FormClosing(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As FormClosingEventArgs) Handles Me.FormClosing Me.WindowState = FormWindowState.Minimized Me.Visible = False
[code]....
Private Sub NotifyIcon1_MouseDoubleClick(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.Forms.MouseEventArgs) Handles NotifyIcon1.MouseDoubleClick Me.Visible = True
[code]....
The excessive stuff is my way of trying eveything I can think of to get the form to show.
I need advice on how to pass the details of a double clicked datagrid record to another form and display as text boxes etc. This will act as an edit form for the user once they have clicked their desired record.
I have a notifyicon for an application. The double click event is not firing. When I put my code in by itself in its own application it works. But in my bigger app it doesnt. I dont know why. Here is what I have so far.
Private Sub Form1_FormClosing(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As FormClosingEventArgs) Handles Me.FormClosing e.Cancel = True
I m writing a code for Telnet application. I want to simulate the double click event on the remote machine. I think mouse_event api will be used but i m unable to implement it..
I am creating aplication that displays images in many different ways using Picture Boxes. Single page with tabs, double page using fading in/out effect, double page 'page flip' effect and single page auto scroll effect which I have problem with. I am dinamicaly creating picture boxes, loading images, placing 'path' to a file in tag and adding handler to each picture box. All fine...
Private Sub DataGridView2_CellContentDoubleClick(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.Forms.DataGridViewCellEventArgs) Handles DataGridView2.CellContentDoubleClick Dim doubleclick As String = "SELECT BibleBookNames.Book, Bible.VerseNum,Bible.Verse1 " & _
I've read thru Iceplug's tutorial on control arrays and got it working. I tried to add a new event by basically copying his click event code and calling it a doubleclick event. I used the proper addhandler and assigned the correct name to my sub. I have the click event changing the background color to blue and the doubleclick event changing the background color to green. The background color does not change to green. Why?
Heres the tutorial with my new code encased in asterisks ...
I have a tree view with checkboxes. When a user checks an item in the tree, all items below it in the tree should be checked automatically to match the parent. The same is true is a user unchecks an item. That's been reasonably easy to implement using the after check event:-
Private Sub tvwUserGroups_AfterCheck(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.Forms.TreeViewEventArgs) Handles tvwUserGroups.AfterCheck If Not m_Isloading _
I am using Visual Studio 2008 and VB.NET. I've got a listview control on my form and I've added columns using the windows forms designer. As you know, if you double-click on the sizer or divider or whatever you want to call it between two columns, the column on the left will autosize (unless you disable that). How can I catch this specific event? The ColumnWidthChanged event and the DoubleClick event are likely candidates, but in the ColumnWidthChanged event, there's no way I can see to determine if it was an autosize. Similarly, there's no simple way to catch what was clicked exactly with the DoubleClick event. how I can catch this specific event type?
I have a problem with a Save button on a toolbar firing the click event twice if the user double clicks the button as opposed to single clicking.Disabling the double click on the toolbar itself seems to make no difference as it is the actual save button that is being clicked twice.I have tried setting a Boolean to stop the event firing twice but it is just too quick!I didn't have this problem with my code before as the server call was not async... and reverting back is not really an option.
My code is as follows:
Protected Sub tlbOrdQuot_ButonClick(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.Forms.ToolBarButtonClickEventArgs) Handles tlbOrdQuot.ButtonClick
