I am using Vb 2008, and im trying 2 enable a copy button thats in a toolbar until there is text selected in my rich text box. (normal state of the button is disabled.)

I am developing a COM Add-in using VB.NET in Visual Studio 2008 Pro for Outlook 2003 and am having trouble assigning images to custom toolbar buttons. In a nutshell, I am having to convert from an Icon type to a stdole.IPictureDisp type so that I can assign my buttons a picture. The picture displays, but it loses the Alpha channel and the background is no longer transparent. I can verify that before the conversion to IPictureDisp object, that the PixelFormat property is set to Format32bppArgb (2498570). I am using a coding technique suggested here:[URL]. For C# users, this link [URL] shows how to modify the IPictureDisp one pixel at a time and rebuild the transparency, but I can't find similar functions in VB.NET...
View 1 RepliesI am trying to Disable the "Move First", "Move Previous", etc in a Navigator Bar. I want them Visable, just disabled. In other words, I want them to show (grayed out), just not clickable. In the Move First properties I set Enable = False and Visable = True. It looks grayed out in the form design but when I run it, the arrow is still clickable. If I make Visable = False, the button does not show up in the app.

The buttonNames is an array of all populated button names created at runtime. However, trying the .enabled = false at the end of that does not work. What other ways are there to do that with buttons created at runtime?

How can I disable buttons on some rows in an unbound datagridview, or at least make it appear that it isn't enabled? The enabled property of the cell doesn't exist, and the visible property is read only.

After I close any form, I re-enable the button.

In the above example, ResetButtons() changes the checked value of the radiio button selected to false and changes the checked value of the previous radio button to true. The problem is that when radio button rbGame gets changed, it causes the CheckChanged sub above to run again from the top. Is there a way to temporarily disable it from running while I make my changes and then re-enable it?

i generate a small HTML file on a hard disk, put the AxWebBrowser2 object navigate to the file, all works fine, but i need to diable all user interface on that object. If the user clicks on object, the page reloads completely and i need to avoid that behavior.
I have a piece of software with two tabs, inside each tab there are buttons (the user can add the buttons when they want). when tab1 is full tab2 should start to fill. I currently know how many buttons fit on the screen so I just say something like if buttons > 150 then start to populate tab 2 The problem i have now though is if the resolution is changed then a different amount of buttons can be displayed. so if I put my screen to 1280x720 some buttons are left of. I was thinking of detecting the resolution and then using different cases for different resolutions but this seems very inefficient im wondering if there is a different way?

I wanna give the following instruction to the people: press these buttons in the following order: first buttonA, then buttonB, then buttonC and last buttonD. If they obey this instruction then a picture will be displayed, for instance a happy face. All the other combinations will not activate this picture to be displayed, or in other words, there won't be any consequence. I would also like to save this data using windows note pad e.g., writeline (1, xxxxxx). Is there any chance I will make it?

I am trying to add a toolbar to my app and I would like to use larger icons than the standard 16x16. An older VB6 app that I created had large icons but I cannot figure out how to get my VB.net app to change to use the large icons.
View 2 RepliesI can't find an answer to this question anywhere. How do I add a control to the toolbar? I clicked Add reference and added the Microsoft Internet Transfer Protocol, but I can't see it on the toolbar. I also tried with another reference, but couldn't get it there either.
So, should it be there or am I completely wrong? Quirky commenters, please choose another thread. I just want an answer.

The picturebox does not change its location to extreme right. I would like to have the picturebox on right hand side of the toolbar all the time, wether MDI form is maximized or in resized condition.

I go and reference it to the Toolbar, which it accepts, and the 3 new components pop up on the screen, all fine and dandy.However, I go and press OK to add them to a group, and nothing happens. They aren't added. So, I try again, same thing. Thinking it could be a bug with the new Component, I make a new group and try to add a built in item to it, and to my surprise, nothing happens as well.

Then I tried to split controls in to 2 form but now my form.showdialog() too now working properly. It takes new from names but show the old form when running.
