Dec 4, 2009I am working on a program in VB 2008 that will generate a due list. What I need to do is look in a dataset for customers that are due this month and display it in a grid that can be orded by their city. I know how to do a query to that dataset and find the appointments, I do not know how to display the information in a grid from for sorting.

Mar 5, 2009I have 5 textboxes embedded in a datagrid that require a date format (mm/dd/yy), but can be left empty if user doesn't have date. User can poplutes these textboxes for multiple records and hit submit button. On the submit i loop through the grid. If dates are populated AND they are in the correct format then I call a stored procedure that inserts the record into a table. If any of the dates that are populated in the textbox is not a date or in the incorrect format I need to display error message in a label. I got all this to work, but if it throws error message all the data in the grid is wiped out.
How can i keep data in each textbox and still display the error message?

Dec 13, 2010I have a textbox which is part of my program and when I input data to the text box it fills the database with the data the way it is supposed to. I navigate through the data and the textbox show all the data from all the records I input. The problem is when I close the program and reopen it the textbox is empty for the first record. When I run a report or look at the access data base the data is there. If i navigate and go to the second record it shows the data for second and all the others the way it supposed to in the textbox.

Displaying Data In Grid View Page By Page?
Oct 30, 2011I have more than 30,000 rows in a table. It takes a lot of time to load all the data in the gridview. So I want to display 100 rows at a time. When I click next page button, another 100 rows should be displayed. When I click previous page button, previous 100 rows should be displayed. If I type page 5 in a text box, then I want to jump over to the 5th lot of rows.
I also want to display how many pages there will be. Can we implement this concept in vb.net [winform] gridview. I am using database PostgreSQL.

Displaying Information In A Grid
May 13, 2009I am working on a Windows Forms Application and I have got stuck and wondered if anyone can provide some much needed direction. [Code] The user makes a selection of, say region, and then a DB layer sends back some linq IQueriable(of sometype) for a particular month. I wanted to add a month column each time they select a month.
I can't seem to do this too well with a datagridview, I have tried making a class that holds the measure as string and value as decimal and then create a list of these to bind but then if I add a new one I have problems as it just overwrits the origional one. I could just place a series of textboxes and fill them as I go but this seems like it is a problem waiting to happen kind of way. What I really need is some sort of grid that is expandable.

See the picture below:We've tried looking through all of the properties of the DataGridView control, and found some interesting things that looked promising such as the DataGridViewAdvancedHeaderStyle, and DataGridViewHeaderBorderStyle, but none of it seems to allow you to change the colors on it.Does anyone know how to do this without remaking the entire thing with a GDI+ control?

how can I display the selected username in a textbox?
BTW the userLogged indicates wether the user is logged in or not
if the user is logged in then the userLogged will be changed to "ON"
if the user is not logged in it will be "OFF"

I displayed the two columns with their headers but the problem is retrieving the items for the second column.

VS 2010 Displaying Table On RichTextBox
Jun 12, 2011I'm trying to make a way for them to export orders to a .rtf file. In order to preserve formatting (bold, underline, etc.), I'm creating a RichTextBox (through code) and formatting the text appropriately. To save the output, I'm simply using the RichTextBox.SaveFile method. Now, to list all of the products that were sold in the order, I'm deriving the information from a ListView. The ListView contains the product name, product price, and quantity sold of that product. I cannot find a way to list the output in a table-like structure, so I tried making a DataGridView and pasting it onto the RichTextBox. Unfortunately, this didn't work at all, so I was wondering if anyone had any ideas as to what I can do. I can't simply use Tabs to space out the information because it doesn't get formatted nicely.
