I found a sample of how to display data from a table in to a datagrid using VB.

But this just displays the details of the table columns. For example row 1 has details about usrID, row 2 usrTel ect rather than the actual data of the table.
I have 3 tables. customer,item, pricing, each with keys customerid,itemid,priceid. pricing is related to customer and item tables by a 1 to many.pricing (priceid,customerid,itemid,price)

I am using Datagridview to show some table data from database. It is working but its appearance is not what i am looking for.Is there a way to edit columns and rows manually ?This is a list of what i want to do :
1. First of all i want to change column captions. because they are like "Fld_name" etc.
2. There is a column that shows date. I want to write a code for it ( convert date type )
3. I want to add a button at the end of each row and write a code for it ( show detail about that record )
I have to get data from two tables and display in one grid. Also after that I want to add three columns to that grid.[code]
View 3 RepliesI have a textbox which is part of my program and when I input data to the text box it fills the database with the data the way it is supposed to. I navigate through the data and the textbox show all the data from all the records I input. The problem is when I close the program and reopen it the textbox is empty for the first record. When I run a report or look at the access data base the data is there. If i navigate and go to the second record it shows the data for second and all the others the way it supposed to in the textbox.

In order to preserve formatting (bold, underline, etc.), I'm creating a RichTextBox (through code) and formatting the text appropriately. To save the output, I'm simply using the RichTextBox.SaveFile method. Now, to list all of the products that were sold in the order, I'm deriving the information from a ListView. The ListView contains the product name, product price, and quantity sold of that product. I cannot find a way to list the output in a table-like structure, so I tried making a DataGridView and pasting it onto the RichTextBox. Unfortunately, this didn't work at all, so I was wondering if anyone had any ideas as to what I can do. I can't simply use Tabs to space out the information because it doesn't get formatted nicely.

I placed the top line there to prevent errors when a user clicks on a blank grid before any data has been placed in the grid and to stop selecting anything if a user clicks on a column header. But my problem is as data is added to the to the top line that line of data is not click-able because the index=0 or Nothing. So my question is what would be the best way to code this so it is protected from the user clicking on a blank grid and the column headers but still allow the user to click on the first line of data?
I'm utilizing the code posted by Jesper Palm here: url...It works great with a PictureBox showing its information. But for some reason I cannot get the DataGridView to display anything when it is in the popup. If I pull the grid out of the popup it displays all of its information fine. If I pause during debug, the grid shows that it has all the data in it. It's just not displaying anything.

Using a datagridview for the first table I am able to enter and save data ok. if I run the code twice in a row the data is still there. When I edit the data in the related table in it's own datagirdview the data is there and displays correctly, but on running the code a second time the related data is lost. Using the VB.NET (2010) GUI I request which LED I want on (via buttons) and the I2C device then sends a reply confirming which LED actually turned on (basic feedback). Ok, sounds great right? Here's where I get issues. Well when I try to read the serial data sent to VB and display the real-time stream on the GUI, a) I get a bit of a mess as an output (values are ok, just spewn across GUI) and b) when I select a new LED to turn on, the GUI data does not refresh to this change. The stream being sent from the Arduino is ok, I looked at the data in a serial monitor.

which is supposed to get all the data from my table and set it as the datasource of a DataGridView. You can see where I put in two msgbox's to view how many columns are in the DGV before and after the "update". The first count gives me 22, which is the correct number. After the .DataSource and .DataMember lines are ran, the count jumps to 41 and I have no clue why. All I want to do is clear a dataset, fill it with the new data and set it as the data source of a datagridview. It appears the info is being saved to the table correctly too.
