Sep 1, 2009I faced a problem that the vertical scrollbar of datagridview will be un-functional.Here are the steps to rebuild the problem:
1. Add a new datagridview component.
2. Add a new timer to set the datasource of datagridview at a regular time. For example, I add following code on the Timer1.Tick event:

3. Then I press the down arraw key on the vertical scrollbar with mouse while the datagridview re-bind its datasource, the vertical scrollbar will be un-functional. And the action will be changed to be re-size the datagridview will I press the vertical scrollbar position.So, is it the bug of datagridview? How can I fix it?
Timer Is Functional / But Is Formatted Improperly Upon Starting
Feb 9, 2011I am having a bit of trouble with a countdown timer I am creating. I work in a call center and the average handle time of each call is important, so I created a countdown timer for the agents to use to help them manage their call time. Along with a tab for the average handle time (AHT), there is a countdown timer for their break time, and also a stopwatch tab. It functions well, there is only one snag I am encountering. When I am on the "AHT" tab for example, the timer counts down from 8 minutes in the format of 00:08:00. (hours, minutes, and seconds are all in separate text boxes) When I click start to start the timer, rather than counting down from 8 minutes in this format, it goes to 00: 8: 0. Then it goes to 00:07:59 and counts down properly.[code]This isn't all of the code for the program, but it is the code for Timer1 for the AHT tab, and the code for the start button for the AHT.

Aug 20, 2008I have an ActiveX object converted to be functional to WPF (standard procedure: Windows Forms control Library and then embedded into the WPF project using a Windows Forms Host controller). Everything works ok with a simple bug from time to time.I have some things in the Load Event that access the ActiveX controll properties and sometimes I get the error "Exception of type 'System.Windows.Forms.AxHost+InvalidActiveXStateException' was thrown."I guess this happens because the control didn't load before I'm trying to access the properties. That's why I put my properties on a DispatcherTimer with the interval 2 seconds in order to execute them later but I get the same error.

The application gets slower frequently and sometimes the browser gets hang..I assume the problem is in memory leakage. We are cleaning the memory of objects by calling dispose in finally but still there is no improvement. How can we increase the performance at the best in terms of memory.

I have it kind of sorted, only not: Button click tabpage1 send to back() or hide() tabpage2 show() The problem with this, is it does not actually turn the page, and the tabpage1 tab still shows at the top. Decimals: Epically basic, I guess. I have calculations that does, for example: 10/6 = 1.666666666667 How do I get it to say 1.667 only?

May 7, 2010Recently I have learned visual basic 2008 express edition and developed programs for data crunching and analysis. The VB 2008 express edition has microsoft visual studio 2008 v. 9.0.30729.1 SP and .NET Framework version 3.5 SP1. Now I want to create x-Y (date-Y value) graphs using the crunched data stored in an array list simulating a data base access. I download and installed the "Microsoft Chart Control for .NET Framework " and try to learn to use it within the VB 2008 express edition using the tutorial. It seems that the chart control did not get installed?
1. Do I need at VB 2008 professional to allow using the chart control?
2. Why after installing chart control, there is no change on the items under the NET components within the Toolbox>ChooseItem>.
3. How do I get to use the chart control under VB 2008 express edition.
4. Any code available to generate versatile graphics without using the chart control? Because the chart control has tons of classes already it seems the best is to just use the existing and downloadable chart control?
Drawing On Picturebox Vs Drawing On Form?
Feb 18, 2012I need some code to draw a resizable, draggable rectangular cursor (or selection box) on a picturebox. I found some excellent code (albeit rather old) that does just that, but on a form rather than a picturebox. I have tried converting the code - basically moving things to the picturebox events (Paint, MouseDown, MouseMove etc). It nearly works but leaves a trail behind it when you move or resize the cursor. In other words, the selection rectangle is not being erased before being drawn in the new position.
Is there some fundamental difference between drawing graphics on a form and drawing on a picturebox that would cause this behaviour? Something like, when you invalidate a form and cause a redraw it erases what you did last? If not, then I just need to dig a bit further and work out how the cursor is being erased from the previous position.

Aug 21, 2011User need to select their prefferable data to show in report. What i did is i have a clear command first to delete the temporary table. The temporary table is basically a table to stored user selection parameter data. After the clear command, i have
a insert command to insert user selection data into the temporary table. What happened now is when i run the program exe, first run of the report is work fined, but not the second and the following times of execution. It will return null or blank report. The weird thing is when i execute it from development environment, it seem like the report is able to pick up user selection parameter and run the report for the first times and the subsequent execution.
