I get an error while trying to install a third party Excel add-in [Thomson One Analytics]. Error: "Compile error in hidden module: Main" Microsoft Excel 2003..But when I had the Addin unlocked.I noticed that it was getting stuck at a specific line in the MAIN module of the Addin package and the debugger throws a compile error message saying that: "Object library Invalid or contains references to object definitions that could not be found". Earlier when I had this issue,I made another user login to the PC and we were able to use the add-in successfully. But this time even a different user with Admin Rights was not able to use it. [code]
Tried to install and run the Addin on the same computer by a different user having admin rights, no go.Made sure that he references for the add-in in the VBA editor are correct, by comparing them with a working computer, no go Re-installed "Service Pack 6 for Visual Basic 6.0: Run-Time Redistribution Pack (vbrun60sp6.exe)", no go. Ran repairs on Excel, no go Re-installed Excel, no go

This is something that has been bugging me for a while as it is easily fixed but not desirable.I have a DataGridView that has 5 columns. The first is called ID.In vb.net the following line gives an error "Object reference not set to an instance of an object": dgvJobs.Columns("ID").Visible = False ' ERROR dgvJobs.Columns(0).Visible = False ' OK
Obviously using the name is much better than a hard coded value to reference the column but wondering if there is anything i can do to get this to work correctly?The datagridview datasource is BindingSource control with the datasource being a dataset.

I have been assigned to Convert a VB.NET project to C# and I got stuck. I am using a class called RsiOPCAuto, but I don't think that I'll have to go into to much detail into explaining how it works. Let's just get on with my issue.
So basicly what i do is grabbing an object from my class using this code:
public partial class FrmPartialMain : Form
{
RsiOPCAuto.OPCServer oOpcServer;

I am trying to add records from an Access Database into another Access Database using DAO recordset.The VB.NET program would add the records until it hits random stop and error says "Object invalid or no longer set". what would cause this? The recordset contains 7 million records, but it only added approx 6000. Next time i run the program, it would add different number of records again.

I am using the IndexOf function of the string class to find a specific instance of a string. And based on that I have a logic to do something. Below is the example of what I am doing. The code is in production and is working fine. But for some instance I am getting an "Object reference not set error". Yeah its intermittent.The requestXML is a string of xml data passed in as a paramter to a subroutine. I am fetching the xml string as a form post in a request object. The only thing I could think of getting this kind of error is when the requestXML string varia
requestXml = Request("requestXML")
SubmitRequest(requestXml)
Private
Sub SubmitRequest(ByVal requestXml

Ok, just needing a 2nd set of eyes looking at this to make sure the error isn't something else other than my LINQ code here. Here's the function class itself:
Public Function GetJacketByPolicyID(ByVal jacketID As Int32) As tblPolicy
Dim db As New DEVDataContext()
Dim j As tblPolicy = db.tblPolicies.Single(Function(p) p.policyNumber = jacketID)
Return j
End Function
and here is the code which calls this class function in the web control form itself:
Dim p As tblPolicy
Dim j As New Jackets()
p = j.GetJacketByPolicyID(3000050)
For some reason it's flagging the 2nd line in the GetJacketByPolicyID function saying the specified cast is not valid. So I'm guessing it's something I'm doing wrong. I'm sure the tblPolicy/tblPolicies class works right since I can create a new instance of a tblPolicy and set a few variables by hand and return it, so that's not it. I've also checked the datarow I'm fetching and there's no null values in the record, so that shouldn't be it either.

Ok, so I got everything working except for one thing. My program stores text in a settings files (which it saves to and encrypts to wonderfully), but it will only work once. For example, I type in an author, title and body, and click Publish, it publishes and is labeled with a "1.". Restarting the application, you get the desired effect, a decrypted string from the encrypted settings file, now publish another entry, this makes a new line with "vbNewLine" and then encrypts it, fine and dandy. Now apon opening the application again, you get an error stating "Invalid character in a Base-64 string.". What do I do?
Encryption Code:
Public Function psEncrypt(ByVal sInputVal As String) As String
Dim loCryptoClass As New TripleDESCryptoServiceProvider
[code].....
